9:27 I’m surprised you didn’t list Rhaenyra’s children with Laenor for examples of hair not being obvious from the parents.
They’re some of the strongest examples.

They're half Targaryen and half Strong though. Rhaenyra and Laenor didn't ACTUALLY have any kids together.
Jon Snow is actually the strongest example. He's half Targaryen and half Stark, but his hair is very dark and his eyes are brown.

@@carastone3473 In the books he has grey eyes, like the Starks traditionally. Though it says dark grey specifically and I think the Starks typically have lighter eyes... Though Rhaegar's eyes are a dark indigo so I guess it's a combo of the genes, eye colour is waaaay more than one gene after all

It's only in the show, not the books, that their looks are such a giveaway. There were already dark-haired Targaryens in the books from legitimate outmarriages. And many character's hair colors were simply unmentioned.

I don't know about Cersei and Jaimie. But Tyrion has shown some interesting traits. His hair is a mix of gold and silver, his black eye just might be a dark violet (like Aegon III). He isn't just a dwarf, he is deformed (common with Targaryen babies, especially Maeleys Blackfyre), he has been exposed to toxic substances and fell into tainted water without becoming ill at all (Valyrians are immune to certain diseases), he was hypnotized by flames as a baby, and he has dragon dreams (not psychic, just about dragons). The last time we read about him, he's fixated on a white dragon piece. Aerys was alone with Joanna at some point, and Tyrion was born around 8-9 months later. Aerys took what he pleased, and he did *everything* in his insane power to make Tywin angry. Impregnating his wife with a deformed bastard would be the biggest middle finger.
I personally believe in the Tyrion Targaryen theory. The dragon must have three heads. And the third certainly isn't Faegon.

I don't think George would actually do this, but I do think its interesting that everyone uses the twins looks as a reason against this theory, when the twins are the only Lannisters described as having hair the color of "beaten gold" (and they are described with these exact words three time in the books) since the only other characters whose hair is described with this exact phrase are Targaryens (Egg is described twice as having hair thata "shone like beaten gold and strands of silver woven all together" and at least one other Targaryen/ Targaryen descendant)

Cersei seems to be becoming progressively more demented over time just like Aerys... including a disturbing fascination with fire. Thus I think the theory that she at least is Aerys's daughter is very possible. Jaime may or may not be: Superfecundation is a thing.
Tyrion is also possible because of his unusual coloring, but Aunt Genna once said he was "Tywin's only true son", so who knows at this point?

also some of the things cersie says and the way she acts is like the madking in his younger days. like both of them had the same idea about rebuilding a better kings landing from white stone, and starting projects with ideas but abandoning them just as fast. also she had so much pull on the madking as a child that she somehow convinced him to make jamie a kings guard if cersie isn't the madking's child she was atleast mentored by him while she was in Kings Landing.

"When a Targaryen is born, the gods flip a coin" god the irony if those twins are Targaryen bastars with the crazy actually being a coin flip leaving Tywins only son being being Tyrion - that means the only child Johanna had who didn't come out a 'perfect golden lion' was the one kid with Tywins Lannister genes and the only child with little lion swimmers was the one who killed the love of his life. Yeah I got a gripe with this theory and how it's still going around. I understood this theory years ago because there was no timeline for certain events. But ever since a world of ice and fire book came out we have like solid timelines. Which guarantees tyrion's not a Targaryen and any capacity because there was like a two-year gap around his birth and being conceived. Jamie and cersei there's a tighter timeline but it's still pretty solid where it's pretty much guaranteed they're not Targaryen. I've always found this concept kind of stupid since the timelines of all this came out. It was hella interesting before we actually got dates from a world of ice and fire lol

Answer this question. What do queens/high born ladies do when they find themselves pregnant by someone other than their husband? If they can pass them off as the kings child they do. But what if they can't? What do they do with the child? House Dayne has quite a few members with purple eyes. Maybe house Dayne didn't actually have purple eyes. Maybe house Dayne is a repository for Queens bastards. Ashara Dayne has violet eyes (blue and purple)of house Tarharyen, but the dark hair of the Baratheons. Could she be a Targaryen bastard? Tyrion is a chimera, the son of Joanna, and Aerys and Steffan Baratheon. Hence the Golden hair, and silver hair and streaks of black hair. And Tysha is the bastard daughter od Joanna and Steffan. Rhaella didn't care when Joanna was messing around with Aerys because she hated her husband. But when Joanna started sleeping with Steffan Rhaella tossed her out on her rump. And one more thing, Daenerys is called child of 3. Then she is given 3 prophecies. What if that's not what that means.
