If you were looking for the dumbest ideas in all of gaming, you've come to the right place.
How (not) to respond to Under the Mayo: A comparison
Not all response videos are created equally, so I look at two videos responding to the same initial video to determine what separates a high-quality response from a low-quality one. I promise I'll make a "real" video after this one.

Me, a new player who has been maining this one:
Firestarter? I ‘ardly know her!
god what is that voice
I use the rocket launcher a LOT, Freezeframe is obviously very useful, S.R.S. Cannon is great for dealing with Cerberi as long as that one filth doesn't jump in the way and protect the Cerberi like why does that happen so much holy shit and Firestarter is great for mobility and taking out fodders without even having to aim at them
I usually use firestarter against hideous mass, cerberus, and sisyphean insurrectionists. It's because hideous mass and the insurrectionist are enemies with attacks you have to focus on to actually parry, so instead of directly fighting them, just have them be caught in crossfire like the fodder enemies and if they survive to the end of the wave which they mostlikely wouldn't, you can focus on ultrakilling them. If not in cybergrind I either use it for movement or for a crowd of dangerous fodder enemies, also it works really well on maurices because it removes all their resistances.
0:11 the "kickstarter????"
Bold of you to assume that this isn't my favourite rocket launcher
tbh the red rocket launcher is the only variant thats always useful. i only use the blue one for getting places and the green one when im fighting a cerberus and remember i even have it

Tbh I use the fire starter to shred bosses and mini bosses as it’s good consistent damage which is like the screwdriver but it doesn’t heal, what it does do, is HEAL HARD DAMAGE. MEANIN YOU CAN KEEP DMG GOING also hey healing it? There’s ALOT you can use fire starter with a lot of scenarios unlike some explosive weapons which enemies can be immune or resistant to.
Literally the only real flaw with the tier list is how there are MULTIPLE sawblades in the "best in slot" tier. That's, erm, acktually innaccurate to the premise of the tier 🤓
One thing that's worth noting and taking into account, Rocket Riding and Coins can also be somewhat nerfed by the terrain. So for example, you'll have to think a bit more strategically with the firestarter in enclosed rooms, and low ceilings can ruin some coin setups I've tried. Same with the Core Eject nuke, too, I suppose. I feel the main game's level design has a really solid mix between enclosed rooms and open terrain and this allows the weapons to be balanced. The Cybergrind will always be open, and I feel that affects how they're percieved, since that's where I see experienced players taking the most time to experiment. What I like about this video is that it does a really good job of covering situations when weapons are and aren't useful. It's very fair. I can think of a situation or a playstyle that prefers all of the different weapons. This just makes me wonder if Hakita will make an alternate Cybergrind mode where it has walls and a ceiling. For the Sharpshooter fans.
Isn't it possible to shoot Jackhammer boosted grenades into coins?
i dont really care how good it is, i always forget the rocket launcher exists, i just use it to make slip n slides because screw using weapons for their purposes
Blue jackhammer and driver are both slept on, driver does insane damage and gives hella sustain if you're good at using it like something you spread between targets, and blue jackhammer does nutty burst damage and is good against guttermen
For me, it just feels like a weapon that is mostly good in Cybergrind, and extremely mediocre outside of it. Sure, it's GREAT when there are both massive packs of enemies in a single encounter and you can very easily spread oil around the map without altering your play or taking too much time, since you're incentivized to be far above the map often anyways. But outside of Cybergrind, spreading that oil is much harder without devoting much more time to doing so, as you can't spray entire arenas as easily all in one go in a lot of arenas. There's also rarely a similar degree of enemy abundance as in cybergrind, so it's crowd control is not that handy. In actual levels it's just... usable. You can get through encounters and deal damage fine, but you usually get far less for what you put in than basically any other weapon.
only use the firestarter to burn the floating rock head
I actually use firestarter to oil up bosses/mini bosses all the time
i killed minos prime with 26 restarts on first try, but killed him again after 78 restarts because of a bug where the game don't considered like i killed him, then i go for sisyphus and i restarted 146 and some 100 or more times just after
and don't killed sisyphus one single time...
My guy, you do know she insulted mayo for comedic effect. Right? Also, even if Mayo's video wasn't really a review or whatever. Its still clickbait because the title doesnt match the content. If mayonnaise named it something like "my first experience playing Halo back in the day". Sure you've got a point. But he didn't, basically cope, seethe, mald. Somebody made a video in a style you don't like. Womp womp
This has to be a psyop.
Beat everything with no summons or ashes. But it was way too much work and wasn't satisfying to finish. So yes, it was too hard. Dark Souls 3 was perfect. Elden Ring has taken the enemy attacks too far. The player now has too little chance to hit back. It's beatable but it isn't fun.
Most of the time, when someone shares a "shitty" take online, they're not ragebaiting or retarded. They just have a different opinion. Under the mayo is not one of these people. He's a genuinely malicious (railcanon) and self contradicting asshole who harasses anyone who doesn't follow his flawed train of thought.

While I believe you could tone down the tone for this critics, I agree with most of your points. Most of this complaints are similar to those from the base game back in 2022, and they feel as old and non relevant as they were back then. Obviously every boss has an issue, like any Soulsborne boss, but after 3 playthroughs, nearly 4, I think they hold up overall.

To be fair, he was a bad demoman, you wouldn’t be sitting here discussing about it would you?
As an alternate shotgun user myself, I would like to add its possible to quickswap with them (albeit it’s slower than the normal shotgun) by holding your mouse when swapping. I think it’s important to add that the alternate shotgun has a very varied rate of blood acquisition based on distance, damage and kills. All alternate shotguns can break gutterman shields and idols on direct impact, with the pump variant being able to break idols with the shockwaves based on distance and pump charge (acting like a knuckle blaster shockwave). The alternate core eject snipe is single handedly one of the most interesting explosives in the game, it can stun/dislodge sentries from any distance, can be used reliably and consistently to insta kill malicious faces and I believe has the longest lasting lingering explosion effect in game - making it very good at deflecting projectiles/coins and flinging enemies into the air. The alternate core eject also synergises very well with the fire starter being able to effectively on command, from any distance set something on fire and cause multiple explosions (very easy way to destroy malicious faces, fodder and Cerberus). The alternate chainsaw shotgun I view more as a more reliable way to acquire blood in tight situations and an effective short/medium range weapon when punching the chainsaw, there should’ve been a mention of the damage potential when combined with the knuckle blaster and aiming at the floor and a mention of arm stamina after punching the chainsaw - you can still parry/coin punch when juggling the chainsaw. The alternate pump charge also deals less self damage when over pumped and it is uniquely able to be dogged just by going full impact speed (with some nuance of course), and if you mess up the doge you can still do the normal dash or just accept a smaller than usual amount of self damage. I would like to add as well that some enemies take more damage when oiled up, malicious faces can be insta killed with a well timed oil shot and when they are oiled up they take full damage from all explosives.
All of this is great information that I thought should've been in the video! This comment needs more likes.
In my CG playstyle, i COMPLETELY rely on the Jackhammer for my movement and survival! The Jackhammer allows you to do unbelievable burst, and pushing you to safety as to wait for the cooldown after a +FULL IMPACT, and when combined with Rocket Riding, it actually becomes unbelievable how much you can avoid enemy attacks.. I can just.. chain several Full Impacts by simply going full impact, getting launched, rocket ride to my target, going full impact, repeat! One of the only flaws of the Jackhammer is that it isnt as versatile as the Shotguns. The Jackhammer is a burst weapon that doesn't do well in closed spaces (like most ultrakill levels) due to the knockback from a Yellow Gauge and Red Gauge impact. The Shotgun can be used universally, every level, CG wave, and is a consistent damage dealer, compared to the burst dmg jackhammer. (my favourite weapon in game my beloved)
My favourite weapon is the core eject shotgun (alt) Cuz you can get an almost instant less powerful malicious rail with basically no cool-down
My favourite weapon is the core eject shotgun (alt) Cuz you can get an almost instant less powerful malicious rail with basically no cool-down
lost all credibility when you put both sharpshooters in bottom tier
the pump jackhammer can be pumped during hitstop, so say you were at a 2nd pump shot but during hitstop you can pump it again for the red explosion which makes it probably the most destructive weapon in the game. Additionally you can speed it up by pumping instantly after the hitstop to make it even out speed the regular pump shotgun sometimes so yeah
I think most of these placements are good, however I disagree with a couple. I'm currently 58th in the world (wave 91) on the brutal cybergrind leaderboard, so we're in the same headspace when it comes to grading these weapons. Attracter Sawblade Launcher: I'd argue this gun is on par with both Jumpstart variants. Not only is it 4.3 saws per second, adding up to 9.675 DPS (assuming all of your saws get max value, which they should if your magnet placements are good), but it also reduces Jumpstart charge by 0.75 seconds per hit. As well as it being a far better quick swap for your Overheat. 1 nail dealing 0.205 damage versus one sawblade dealing 2.25 damage is a huge gap for quick swapping. Both of the Jumpstarts: I think the Jumpstart Sawblade Launcher is better than the nailgun variation. The most efficient way to do conduction is with the fastest nail dumping gun in the game, which is the Overheat Nailgun. The Overheat Nailgun dumps out 62 nails per second with it's right click and both other nailgun variations dump out 25 nails per second (the jumpstart can fire even less than that when unattached). So the combo involves placing magnets, firing at least once with the attracter, dumping with the overheat, and then firing ONCE with the jumpstart sawblade launcher as it's being connected. This allows to you fully rotate between all three weapons nearly indefinitely. Little known fact, the Overheat nailgun's heatsink will refresh itself if you cycle back to the sawblade launcher without depleting it's heatsink. By cycling constantly, you can perform multiple conductions within the same 10 seconds back to back. I made a video on this called 'This Conduction Loadout is DELICIOUS.' Both sharpshooters: The slab sharpshooter (or Slarp) has one of the highest, quickest damage outputs just beneath railcoining in the form of Slarpcoining. It's relatively simple too. Fire the Slarp down while above an enemy and immediately throw any number of coins above that enemy to rack up 10-25 damage. It's especially good if you can master punching the coin as it's being targeted by the Slarp shot, reusing the coin and adding more damage. It's a very quick combo that just takes practice to pull off consistently. As for the default Sharpshooter, having three charges makes it extremely effective against any projectile in the game. Mindflayers, radiant soldiers, radiant schisms, radiant strays, and, as you mentioned, Maurices, are very vulnerable to this while their projectiles are being charged. The 7 damage explosion cannot be understated in its value, especially coming from a revolver. Finally, the Core Eject Jackhammer: This one's a little weird to grade unless you know some of the more obscure tech. You already mentioned the relationship between rockets and cores being strong. But something worth practicing is a little tech involving Jackhammer hitstop rules. While whiplashing or dash jumping towards an enemy, prematurely toss the core to either side of it. Release the Jackhammer upon the core when you're within proximity to your target, and during the hitstop, redirect the core into the enemy at point-blank range. If you've done it correctly, the initial Jackhammer strike will secondarily apply to your target as well as the core, effectively hitting the enemy with your regular 6 or 10 damage hit as well as the 7 damage core. It's one of the fastest ways to deal 17 damage to an enemy in the game without the need of using the Pump Charge Jackhammer for 2 seconds. I also made a video about this tech called 'We've ALL been OVERLOOKING the Core Eject Jackhammer.'
i really liked your comment and information! however i did notice a small spelling mistake , "attracter" instead of "attractor". good tips anyway!
@@PHOTON.thief. Huge thanks, fam.

I really like all of the jackhammers _because_ of the fact that they launch you away. You do insane damage to an enemy, immediately fuck off before they can hit you, and do it all while looking insanely cool. (In other words, I think it's really good for maneuverability.)
That’s why I really like the saw variant as well. You can target a medium health enemy and do the same or more damage as a full impact with a yellow charge, blast away to safety, and get a lot of health back from the saw
idk lmao i always dash cancel the recoil cuz i go too high up and die anyway
Wont accept this Sharpshooter slander here
I feel like core eject jackhammer deserves strong option. Similar to shotgun quick killing, if you just use a knuckleblaster punch in the little hitstop when hitting with any jackhammer, you can actually instakill maurice with yellow speed, bypassing the 7 second cooldown. Using knuckleblaster with red speed (or pump charge pumped once at yellow speed), you can also instakill sentries.
the alternate red revolver should definetly be a strong option for its easy damage potential when combined with 1 coin and grappling onto an enemy and for his nieche use with projectiles especially usefull when dealing with airborne mindflayers whilst the red shotgun being realtively useless
Actually. You just need to get really creative with the red shotgun. Its like a secondary screw driver when using it good. You can do so much damage with the chainsaw shotgun that it isnt even funny anymore. Example you can use the knuckleblaster to break it off of the chain so it becomes a weaker screw driver. Place a Magnet and hit the chainsaw with the knuckleblaster and bam you one shot bosses like Minos. Ofcourse there are more uses like in the weezer room where you line up the chainsaw and then launch it and then when you punch it use the knuckleblaster to unchain it for insane damage.
Gotta agree with pretty much everything, except for the blue jackhammer. I think u underestimate how spammable it is, i mean if u look at the too cybergrind runs, i dont think saying the weapon is "niche" is a fair statement. Best in slot is where i would put it.
There's no bad weapons only SKILL ISSUE A
screw and blue jack deserve strong option, but other than that i agree with this tiering. screw combos go crazy and a 7 damage hitscan explosive projectile cleans up every single enemy known to man.
Something you didn't talk about with standard revolvers is revolver swapping. You can't do that with slabs, and it's genuinely a pretty insane amount of infinite sustained damage. By binding a specific variant slot to a key (for me, it's variant slot 1 on C), you can even revolver swap with only one standard revolver. I loved your very hot takes on weapons, thanks for the cool video!
the screwdriver+green alt shotgun allows for the quickest mindflayer kill you can imagine
He didn’t say it’s completely useless though, just niche. Really good at certain parts, but not really good at others. This is probably the best Ultrakill tier list video I have ever seen because it doesn’t undervalue the others, including the Screwdriver
I mostly agree with this, but the issue is that you can only kill the one mindflayer with those combo. Then your railcannon goes on a 16 second cooldown and your alt shotgun goes on a 7 second cooldown. Kinda makes it hard to kill that next mindflayer. Keep in mind this is a brutal cybergrind tierlist.
+FULL IMPACT +EXPLODED +GIGA DRILL BREAK
W core enact jackhammer you can use a rocket you’re riding to cause a nuke. The angle is rather specific, but it is really good. You can always jump off the side of the arena (which also clumps up enemies nicely at the edge) and come back up with a nuke, not requiring any railgun charge either. On top of that, you can hit an enemy while riding the rocket for a red-gauge hit, meaning you can escape the blast, too
what about slabcoining with the slab piercer? that deals way more damage than the railgun and an unbelievable amount more than the default piercer because that has normal splitshots (useless against bosses)
the overpump on the green shotgun is only an upside, if you're even decent at the game you won't overpump by accident
@@Linkman8912 Overpump will save you from virtues in p-2.
@CamelLizard4703 yeah, I'm not at P-2 yet but it's really nice to not waste railcannon shots on virtues anywhere
thanks to your video now I know that default piercer isn't trash. but I'd rather use my shotguns
i came into this video thinking okay let’s see how many i disagree with and came out thinking wow this tierlist is awesome and doesn’t shit on any weapons 10/10 would recommend
