It's very difficult, they're smart and perceptive for fish, but probably one of the most exciting freshwater species once you manage to hook up on a fly rod. I caught one letting a damsel fly settle on the bottom ahead of the school, stripping it when they approached as if they spooked it, had more luck casting a floating egg pattern under a mountain ash tree though. I got nothing against bait fishing, 'cept that time I caught a turtle, but I just love pulling fish out of the water. The anticipation of hauling up a mysterious deep water ocean species from a baited reef rig, the rush of a bass hitting a topwater swim bait, the satisfaction of big cutthroat sipping a hopper. You got a lot of options on the fly for a challenge like this though, probably could catch get all but the catfish species.

Legally places do not have to have signs in order for it to be private property in Arizona but even the ones that do have signs from what I’ve heard the only legal action they could take for a first offense is formally trespassing somebody. And then if you return you will get charged criminally, unless your first time around you damage property or something like that but then it’s a different charge I believe

@@Jameslikesfishing this pond hardly has any minnows in it because of all the bass, so trapping a decent amount takes a long time, and you usually just end up with baby tilapia and stuff lol. In Arizona we can’t transport bait from one location to another so I can’t get them elsewhere either (unless purchased)
