@@FishingWithPorter I definitely missed the bar on that early on (just thought if I caught enough fish, the channel would grow). But I'm learning, I think.. Keep up the great work... I'm studying! ✏️ 📝 🤙✌️🎣

Still impressed with your fish handling skills and not allowing them to damage themselves by rolling all over the ground. As far as the 2 lb test it makes you a better fisherman I know you may think it's annoying and you're a little used to being able to horse some of the fish in but it teaches you to be a better fisherman. It teaches you how to use your drag and how to be patient with the catch. Ever since my boys were real little I taught them on two and four lb test to teach them that it's not just about horsing the fish in but enjoying the fight. We catch 8 to 10 lb fish all the time on 2 and 4 lb test sure it takes a little longer but that's the fun of it It's much more cerebral I enjoy watching your videos
Thank you. Btw I fish 4lb line in every video and have caught over a dozen 10+ pound fish on 4 pound line, so I’m plenty experienced with finessing fish and being patient on the fight. The 2 pound line was annoying only because I purposely kept the drag on the looser side to be safe from leaving a fish with a hook in its mouth. Realistically the fight would’ve taken half the time if I locked it down to what it could handle. I stand by 4lb line because it makes the fight more challenging.
Yeah once I was playing around with an ultra light because I was using an extra small swim bait and ended up hooking what I think might have been a giant flathead on 4lb test and the line eventually broke and I could barely move it off bottom the whole time
Im trying to get into carp fishing cant seem to win them over with corn or boiles on a hair rig what rig would you recomend i use with worms heard they were one of the most popular baits they bite on thanks in advance
I’ve never used hair rigs before so can’t give any recommendations on the matter. I just use corn and bread weightless, 4-8 pound line and a small hook. Super simple and I catch tons of fish. Thanks for watching!
Thank you! I have an ugly stick medium 6’0 and an ugly stick light 5’6 both paired with okuma ceymar clicker reels. Typically the medium rod here is paired with 8lb mono and the other is paired with 4lb mono.
Thanks man! There’s carp in every pond and every canal all over the valley, just got a jump around until you find one that has a hot bite. Use bread and corn weightless if you can lighter line is better, I have faith in you!
I dont fish much artificials on this channel because bait fishing is just much easier to film in my opinion. I personally love bait casters though, I use them for salt water all the time. Thanks for watching!
You should do a cast nesting video because I was just at the beach cast netting and a good video is after you catch one with a small one you could keep getting bigger after you catch one
@@jaydontaylor3967 yeah that makes sense haha. If I’m ever stepping away from my rod or not paying attention I’ll throw the clickers on my reels on and that way I can hear if somethings happenjng
I can’t say I know what you’re referring to, but typically in my experience anything that has a sensitivity setting the higher = more sensitive. Thanks for watching!
At the salt River under the 7th ave bridge which is a small pond, 2 sunfish, out of the 12 fish I caught that day, The hook was so deep in them I couldn't get it out and didn't have the heart to let them live with it in them cuz I know what pain is. So I smashed them with a boulder so fast they didn't feel anything or even know, And their body was used to feed other fish.

Amazing that you were able to land that with 2lb line. The power of having the correct drag set. Pretty tense battle my friend, great job!
Thank you!! I think my best line weight to fish weight was a 15 pound mirror carp caught on 4 pound line. I appreciate you watching 🙏

Yeah people get flathead all the time on swim baits, could’ve been a big channel cat too. Thanks for watching!
Incredible all the fisheries AZ has.. not many realize.
For real! Man-made or not it’s nice to have some kind of water to throw some poles in. Thank you for watching!

Hey question for you man, what are your thoughts on baitcasters? I notice you don't use them often if there a reason? Or just personal preference

Stay tuned!!
Why don’t you use bells for your poles?
Because they’re annoying and I 99% of the time get the my pole before the line gets tight so they’re basically useless anyway. Thanks for watching 🤙
Fair enough, I’m always helping my kiddos so the bells are a life saver for me haha
