Today I went to another canal spot in search of some koi and was very surprised with how off the charts the fishing was! My entire video only took about an hour to film when it normally takes 3-4 hours! What an awesome time out there, I hope it can stay that way for a while!

No idea koi fish were just chilling in those canals. Really cool. Nice variety of fish.

You're blowing up super fast dude. Keep it up! Also, you shouldn't release catfish from that high up. It's recommended to wade into the water with them to release LOL

Nice catches! Try hotdogs there on heavier gear to catch catfish. I’d also try throwing bass/panfish lures there

@@FishingWithPorter no problem! I’d try to use a little 2 inch grub hopped off the bottom or slow reeled as well as a little mepps spinner. Those are great for multi species. I’d also try live nightcrawlers there

I like that spot other side of the freeway has some nice full bass but you will get kicked out if the work trucks spot you. Its a CAP canal not SRP.

Yes they are! The water in the specific canals come from the salt river which comes . That’s why they are fish in the water

Hey, Im new to fishing with bread and im wondering how you rig it?
I just ball it up around the shank of the hook, leaving the tip of the hook exposed for an easier hook set. For finicky fish you may need to cover the hook completely and then be quick and strong with the hook set because the bread can surprisingly harden up quite a bite when underwater. ive been having trouble catching anything in the canals i go to. any spots yall would recommend?
If one canal isn’t working for you I’d just try a different one. I know that sounds like a basic answer but sometimes certain canals are slow for seemingly no reason but one down the road from it might be on fire. Check out my biggest and smallest canals video I show my whole process from jumping canals to bait to tackle etc. tight lines!

@@somlysom6315 heck yeah I fished there quite often, literally walking distance from where I live. I had no idea there was Koi in there though, have caught plenty of common carp in there
@FishingWithPorter no there differently in there you just gotta find a good spot I like to go where the small boat docs right close by the playground is that's where you can see fish swimming around

Why not lures?
I just caught 16 white bass all on artificials this morning. I do use lures I just don’t like filming it cuz I’m constantly moving spots and moving the camera around. Also bait tends to do better for videos. Thanks for watching!
