SAFARI in TANZANIA: MAASAI KIDS Try SNAPCHAT Filters, NGORONGORO Lookouts, and WILDEBEEST Migration!
What happens when you show SNAPCHAT to the Maasai?
Join us on Day Two of our thrilling safari in Tanzania! We kicked off the day at our cozy lodge in Tarangire, looking forward to the day ahead. Our destination was Serengeti, but not without taking a pit stop at the awe-inspiring Ngorongoro Crater for a panoramic view that left us breathless.
The day only got better from there as we enjoyed lunch in the heart of the bush, where we met three Maasai children who were fascinated by the different Snapchat filters we showed them on my phone! Their laughter and pure joy filled our hearts and made this safari experience all the more special.
As we continued our journey towards our hotel in Central Serengeti, we were lucky enough to witness the end of the great wildebeest migration. The sight of these majestic creatures making their way north to the
Mara River which was the perfect way to cap off an
already unforgettable day. We will follow them north in the next video!

SAFARI in TANZANIA Day 1 - TARANGIRE National Park
มุมมอง 12Kปีที่แล้ว
After a night of rest we are ready to start the Safari! Our Safari guide William met us early in the morning for the (relatively) short drive from our hotel in Arusha, Tanzania, to the first game drive of the week. The first stop on the list was Tarangire National Park. Tarangire would be the smallest of the parks during our stay in Tanzania, but should not be skipped. It was a great place to s...

After a bit of a hiatus, WE’RE BACK! When you think of “dream vacations,” on nearly everyone’s list is a Safari in Africa. This is the beginning of our 8 day safari in Tanzania, and getting to Tanzania from New York is no small feat! We started our journey in New York and flew to London where we spent the night before our morning flight from London to Doha on Qatar Airways. From Doha, we contin...
VALLEY OF THE KINGS, Luxor Egypt - INSIDE KING TUT'S TOMB!
มุมมอง 2.7K2 ปีที่แล้ว
After a bit of a delay, WE’RE BACK! Our second day in Luxor has us visiting the Valley of the Kings. The Valley of the Kings in Luxor is an area on the West Bank of the Nile river where, for a period of about 500 years, tombs were cut for pharaohs and powerful nobles of Ancient Egypt. The drive was about 40 minutes from our hotel. Your entrance ticket into the area gets you access to 3 differen...

That’s all from Aswan, time for a “FIRST CLASS” train ride to Luxor! After a brief hiatus, we are back and headed north along the Nile river to Luxor, Egypt. This place is FILLED with temples and tombs! Raul and I bought first class train tickets to Luxor, and after a pleasant experience we ended up at our hotel-the Hilton in Luxor. On the platform of the train station, we were greeted by a tax...
Day Trip to ABU SIMBEL from ASWAN, EGYPT!
มุมมอง 8K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Abu Simbel is one of those places that I never thought I would get to. When you’re planning an itinerary for Egypt, and you look at all of the places to see, Abu Simbel always comes up as a recommendation-and for good reason. The problem is that it is so far from the other places you want to see. It begins with a trip to Aswan which we showed you in the previous video. From there, you should hi...
Exploring ASWAN, EGYPT - A NILE FELUCCA RIDE and Old Cataract Legend HOTEL!
มุมมอง 4.3K2 ปีที่แล้ว
It was time to leave Cairo and head to the south to Aswan, Egypt! Aswan is about an hour and a half flight from Cairo, not too far from the Sudanese border in southern Egypt. The biggest attraction near Aswan, is the Abu Simbel temple complex. Which we will head to next. The other attraction is the Sofitel Legend Old Cataract Hotel which is where we had booked our accommodations. What an amazin...
TRIP REPORT: EGYPTAIR Airbus 220 BUSINESS CLASS - Cairo to Aswan
มุมมอง 10K2 ปีที่แล้ว
The last time I flew Egyptair, I said I would never do it again but here we are! In 2013, I flew Egyptair from Cairo to Nairobi, and back and it was one of the most awful experiences I have ever had in the air. The plane was a very old 737, and in addition, the customer service on the ground was awful. On this trip, the flight was inexpensive and Egyptair was the only airline running the route ...
The GREAT PYRAMID - How CLAUSTROPHOBIC is it?
มุมมอง 7K2 ปีที่แล้ว
I was terrified to do it, but it was something I always wanted to do! Hey there, everyone! Today we continue the journey from Cairo to Giza with Raul and Sofia as we try to conquer our fear of tight, enclosed spaced by heading into the Great Pyramid of Giza! EGYPTIAN MUSEUM, Great FOOD 🇪🇬 and...the SOUVENIR SCAM!

The Egyptian people are AMAZING! For our first day, after a lengthy search for a Starbucks that was actually open, we walked from the hotel along the Nile to Tahrir Square. Fair warning-once you start walking, you have to let yourself go to the sights, the smells and most importantly, the sounds. The traffic is everywhere and finding your way across the street is no small endeavor! Our target i...

The Abu Simbel project was a global effort where experts and governments from multiple countries came together to save the temple. It was funded by other countries and was a multi million dollar project. It wasn't just about moving it "stone by stone" as the temple was a monolith carved into the side of the hill. So experts had to figure out how to cut the temple into pieces and relocate it. They used hand saws to painstakingly cut the temple into pieces like a jigsaw puzzle and then transported it. The hill it was relocated to is a fake hill created out of a dome made of concrete with stones over and around it to make it resemble the original hill. The Abu Simbel project was one the most complex and costliest large scale projects of its kind. It's one of the most well known mega projects. There are multiple documentaries on TH-cam which show how it was all figured out and done. Seems like your guide didn't do as good a job at explaining to you the sheer scale of what was done to enable these temples to be moved.

As an Egyptian, I can confirm any negative experiences you had are more often than not simple one-offs. Trust me when I tell you that we're a down-to-earth, strongly bonded people doing what we can. Some are more traditional than others, so that's why you get funny looks if you walk around town with a camera

    • @MrNonrev
      @MrNonrev 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I totally agree with you, which is why I was careful to say that the experiences of being dragged into perfume store and papyrus sellers were not nasty AT ALL. The people were very nice, it was just an inconvenience and a waste of vacation time. The people in Egypt are amazing, to be honest. I fully understand why they want me to buy the stuff, I just didn't have a need for it, or room for it in my suitcase. :-)
