ISLA MUJERES 🇲🇽 SURVIVING the GOLF CART ride, and the search for GREAT TACOS!!!

- I’ve visited Cancun several times, but I had never taken the trip to see Isla Mujeres-until now!
Gina, Raul and I decided that we would spend our first full day exploring Isla Mujeres. We had done some research and discovered that there was a ferry which left from Playa Tortugas, several times each day. So we grabbed a taxi to the ferry terminal to begin our day.
In our research we also found out that many people recommended renting a golf cart for the day on the island. Conveniently, you can do this on the mainland and have the reservation waiting for you, once you arrive. It was only $45 for the golf cart for the entire day.
The ferry trip is about 25 minutes to Isla Mujeres, and although our day was very windy, the trip was relatively smooth. Gina gave her license to the Golf Cart company, and we held on for dear life as she learned to drive it with us as passengers.
The first stop was Playa Norte which is the large beach on the north end of the island. The color of the water is unforgettable, and has not been filtered in any of this video.
We continued to a restaurant called Tacos de Humo for what was recommended as the best Tacos on Isla Mujeres, and may have been some of the best tacos we ever had-it was well worth the stop. If you go see them, tell Ivan that I sent you!
We stopped at a small church on the way to the southernmost point on Isla Mujeres, which is also the place where the sun hit Mexico first each morning, before completing our loop and heading back to the ferry terminal. Gina bargained for a decent taxi price back to the hotel, where we got ready for dinner at Fred’s restaurant in Cancun.

Hey Carmel-- Keep in mind we had the golf cart--parking was anywhere we wanted it! There was no issue if that's your method of transportation. If you ferry your own car, it may be a bit more difficult.
For $15 more you can rent a good cart
I will have to let Gina know. She will be so disappointed!
How much to rent a moped?
I actually didn't get that figure, to be honest. Gina had her heart set on the Golf Cart, as you could see. :-)
Are masks mandatory on the ferry?
Yes....but...no. LOL. No one was wearing it the way they needed to be, and there was very little policing at the time.
She is a terrible driver. Just saying
