And to me it will always be perfect lol Rented Lego Star Wars TCS DS at Blockbuster as a wee small fry, fell in love, and ultimately had to return it (my first heartbreak). Dad promptly turned to ebay, found the cheapest listing for 'lego star wars ds' and pressed buy and voila, I was gifted one of the most gloriously bugged versions of a childhood classic This is a pure nostalgia trip for me, picked it up again a few years back and i still love it to broken pieces lol To all yall haters, you just had to be there lol P.S. on my last playthrough about 5 years ago, I discovered a hidden easter egg that i can literally find NO trace of online. I kid you not, the devs hid a literal RESIDENT EVIL easter egg in this E rated kids game for a Nintendo handheld. All I'll say is its in the Echo Base level in Episode V Consider this the first documented reference to the easter egg. Will try to find my old copy to recreate and capture footage

Imagine needing hardware acceleration to play Solitaire

When Vista first came out, it overheated my GPU so I had to go back to XP then upgraded to 7. Years later when it was near the end of support, I wanted to give it a go and it ran like a dream. One of the coolest looking OS mixing fanciness with a bit of retro to it. I regret not keeping up with the updates and being able to enjoy using it in it's time.

Long gone are the days when you could turn the date back on youre pc and download windows for free 😷

I finally came to love XP when they came out with SP3. It was a fav of all the OS's

I still used 7 up until 2016; went to 10 because a few apps I used needed 10. For all its faults, I'm sticking with 10 and not moving to 11 because it's basically spyware, especially with Microsoft's planned "AI spies on everything you do" feature.

I really like Windows 7. Could care less about the security BS as long as you know what your doing. As long as I can still run everything I care about I'm not moving.

Waterfox still supports Windows 7. It was initially released as a 64-bit version of Firefox before 64-bit became the mainstream. The x86-64 bit installer for Libre Office means that it is 64 bit. I've seen other programs that use that naming convention to delineate their 64-bit installers as x86 architecture, 64-bit. If it were a 32 bit installer it would simply be x86. I use VLC player on Linux to watch bluray discs. It's not as straightforward as simply putting the disc in and playing it, but it works. Was that the latest version of Steam you installed? I forced Steam to stop updating on my Windows 7 machine so that I could continue using it, but I wonder if that was necessary.

I have the game on psp and the glitches are real

I have my all time fave Diablo 2 LOD expansion pack runniny in XP compatibility mode without a hitch if my ancient system don't keep on crashing due to thermal error.

you spent most of the video using the basic vga driver which is why its performance was rubbish. I have a haswell (4400) with windows 7 and a raptor lake (13100) with windows 11 - but made to look like windows 7 (via startallback mainly) and in normal use I cant tell any difference

Windows 7 was the peak, then things went down the shitter. I moved to Linux now.

One thing that Microsoft nailed with Vista was the design, love Aero, wish they went back to that design

And say what you want about Windows Me...but the Upgrade version built on top of a solid copy of 98SE was flawless. I deployed dozens of Me machines back in that era and they ran for months at a time with no issues.

I grew up with Windows Vista, even though my first OS ever used was Windows 7, when I got my first ever PC it had Windows Vista and only used that, one of my favourite Windows versions OAT

I'd love to make a windows xp mod as an art project! I'd put files for users to explore and maybe even a point and click game. Those bootlegs like gold edition may be bloatware and tacky but it's a genuine art form with lots of potential. I was inspired by a "horror edition" mod that unfortunately is a virus instead of "operational bootleg".

The question is what is connecting to your Win7 box without you being aware.

I have XP Professional 64 on a 2013 Dell Optiplex 3010 and a 2013 Lenovo M92p. The only driver I had trouble finding was for a TP-Link USB Wifi dongle. XP64 drivers are thin on the ground, as they say. And wifi isn't stable with that unit. I can't find an XP64 driver for a TP-Link PCI-e wifi card that actually works and is visible to the OS. It's important to make sure you install the chipset drivers for XP or XP64 on old hardware. The USB dongles I have didn't even show up without the chipset driver installed. Note that the Intel SSU.exe utility won't run on XP64, at least on my old PCs.

Man i loved XP, so much i didn't want to change it. I was so based on this OS.

Windows 7 can run Virtual PC. With ISA SoundBlaster emulation in DOS. With shared folders in DOS. With OS/2 virtual machine addons.

They Probably did this: Windows 2000 to Windows XP to Windows Vista to Windows XP then blame Microsoft for many bloatware openings cause the computer slow. They’re just to dumb to check the system requirements.
