i’ve come to find we’re definitely a minority in the community, but to me, the only things tcs improved were pod race, gunship cavalry, and adding the zam chase to give all movies 6 levels and tell the story of ep2 better (and even then part of me prefers og pod race and gunship). the hub worlds in the first 2 games just wash tcs any day of the week
@@tedgray899 All the new levels in complete saga are dreadful and the added content isn't necessarily that good, more isn't always better, but the fact that its both games in one and that it's the version I grew up playing, it's my favorite. Also, I know not everyone is a completionist, but the lack of stud multipliers in the first Lego Star Wars makes grinding for the remaining things in the shop you don't have kind of annoying. It's like substantially worse in the gameboy advance games though, dear god. Seems like nobody else except me 100% every tt games lego game because people don't seem to talk about how awful the 100% experience for those games are, but holy crap, its a lot of boring grinding with lego star wars 1 on gameboy advance, and for lego star wars 2, I legitimately had to make a macro that played the game for me to grind studs on this one level and leave that on overnight. I digress though.
@@tedgray899even if the Zam level is bad (as he put in his tier list for the boss fights), I am kinda glad it was added in TCS as it helps complete the story
The Skywalker Saga would've been amazing if it had the Clone Wars style Battle Modes, custom character creator, characters from the Expanded Universe like Thrawn, Clone Wars missions as bonus, and bonus missions from Rebels. I personally wish they still many of the environments realistic instead of almost everything LEGO like in previous games.
Honestly they didn’t really even need all that stuff, although it would have been great. They just needed to make the levels actually good and substantial, and make the hub world actually have fun things to do and not just be big
I’m sorry but characters from the expanded universe would not have improved the game. Also Clone Wars and Rebels missions wouldn’t make sense in the grand scheme of things since the game is just the films, but maybe some bonus levels playing on the dark side would’ve been kinda cool
Update on the LSWCS mobile version: The sand texture is gone. It's literally just gone. That means the outside part of the cantina hub has no floor (still collision), and neither does podracing, most of the Darth Maul fight, and more. Keep in mind, I only played episode I before I filed a refund for the game.
It's kind of funny about LSW II for DS because that was the first experience I had with the original trilogy. The original game for Gamecube will always be my favorite though, mainly because of the parking garage-like area with characters constantly fighting (I know they kind of brought it back for TCS at least, but having to individually scroll through the vehicles and not just seeing them in all their glory outside of a menu kind of sucks)
I love the first two console games, Complete Saga and Clone Wars on the consoles are my favorites, I never played the first GBA game, I had the second GBA game and thought it was alright, I will never touch the DS version of II, Complete Saga on DS is decent from when I played my cousin's copy, I wouldn't mind trying out the DS versions of The Clone Wars, I didn't care too much about The Force Awakans, and The Skywalker Saga feels big yet is missing that certain something.
For the LSWCS mobile port, you have to pay to get episode 2, 3 and the whole original trilogy. You only have access to episode 1 for free, and you can’t input any codes.
Well if you add up all the purchasable stuff in the game you get the standard price for the game, it’s not really greedy or anything it just has extra steps. If anything they are letting you play TPM for free which is great lmao
somebody who owns the free demo of the mobile port of the complete saga here please choose the control set to classic if you do play it, and also from what i can tell its just a port of the console version minus multiplayer because its trying to run on older devices which probably will explode when trying to run multiplayer
Complete saga on ds had quite a interesting bug i never found on any other ds game, after a long time of playing the game on real hardware the textures completely get garbled into colorful messes progressively starting with some parts becoming transparent or partially garbled then falls apart from there
The console/PC version of LEGO TFA is a hidden gem IMO, but it definitely needs to be played on the platforms that offer The Phantom Limb DLC. Otherwise, the bonus storyline is incomplete.
I'm glad a few people agree that TCS made things too shiny. Right now I'm ~20% through TCS on DS and while the graphics aren't the best, i still prefer it to the overly polished look.
The skywalker saga had so much potential but feels like a mix of some bad trends in modern gaming like a soulless open world, grinding. repeat boss fights with little variety and adding in filler just to extend the runtime.
I wouldn't even mind the open world if the levels were actually fun and in depth, but they're not. The only level that I think is actually good is the stealth level from rise of skywalker because it took what was otherwise a 2 second scene and made it something creative and fun. The only other one I thought was neat was the Jabba's Palace level, but that's just because I'm a sucker for Jabba's Palace. It's really dumb that they make you go through that level twice for no reason.
I agree that the first two Lego games are better than the complete saga. And I’m not biased by nostalgia because I’m not old enough to have had the first two as a child. I had the complete saga on Wii
I can agree with TCS mobile being in bad since it crashes every time I try to do Episode 1 Chapter 5. For the other ones, LSW1 is pretty good, I never played LSWII other than the PSP version on emulator (DS version is really weird so I'm not really gonna play it on emulator that much), TCS Xbox 360 and DS are my favorite, I never really played Clone Wars that much but only a little bit of the DS version, I only played the demo version of Force Awakens but gave up as I didn't know what to do and Skywalker Saga I only played up to around the middle of Episode 2 but it's pretty good too.
I played the mobile port of TCS and remember it being pretty good. It was about 4 years ago that I played it, but from what I remember it was rare I had any issues with it
@@iansunbury987maybe it's just based on the phone you use or something because for me half the times the background doesn't show up and C-3po is always invisible.
I strongly dislike how astromech heads in TCS are made oblong (Wii and PC). It feels like an obvious graphical mishap that results in the game feeling cobbled together.

For me, the skywalker saga was the exact opposite. The only redeeming parts were the final 4 films, and episode 1 and 2 were absolutely awful (you don't get to a normal traditional level until DROID FACTORY, just think about that). Still a very disappointing game and I think it's easily the worst mainline (so non ports) lego star wars.
my ranking is 4. Skywalker Saga, the levels are too short and the game skips many important scenes and sometimes its very inaccurate, for example General Grievous fight was so inaccurate, like why the hell did the whole fight take place on the top and they didnt go down to that place where Obi Wan killed Grievous in the movie. The charachter roster sucks, almost all charachters are just copy paste skins. No Charachter creator. This game had so many background charachters but it missed the most interesting ones and some larger charachters like why the hell are Geonosians not in the roster but you can mind control them and play as them so they even had all the stuff ready for it to be playable, they were so lazy to not just put the icon on the roster and make it playable from the roster. The levels are so short, its not a problem in some games like Lego Indiana Jones 2 because the mechanics are completely different and those levels play more like arcade levels and thi game was supposed to be very big but Lego Indiana Jones 2 was never meant to be some super big game. Also the Jetpacks have so small time to fly, its like few seconds. Lighting was ruined with some small attack and its not strong like in the previous Lego Star Wars games. They did a lot of work for the figthing meechanics but all of them are useless because all enemies die in 2 hits. General Grievous for example has 4 llightsabers but it has no use, it dosent cause more damage so those 4 lightsabers are pointless. 3. Lego Star Wars The Force Awakens. I dont have a lot to say about this one, i like it much, big charachter roster and all, its good fun time. 2. Complete Saga. Good game but i think its little overrated. Skywalker Saga totally axed the entire Battle of Coruscant for episode 3 and I will never forgive them for that.
5:25 man LEGO Star Wars 2 was the first LEGO Star Wars game I ever played. Takes me back to the summer of 2008. It introduced me to Star Wars.
I can't stand how close the camera is to the player in the skywalker saga.
