I agree that they really needed a boost. I'm glad they did something about it too. It's also good that they made the curses tie in to feats so you could choose your effects.

@@RisingStarPF2E yeah I really love it as flexible like that you don't have to have a mount but you can. Why is Champion dedication going bye-bye as a go-to?

@@WisdomCheck Before this; all the Heavy Armor profiency giving options just gave you Heavy Prof; now you need light+medium prof for these options to now give you Heavy Armor. So the meta of picking Champion Dedication as a wizard for heavy armor prof is gone.

@@RisingStarPF2E ah. Yeah okay. I really like taking Champion for the feat access along with an upgrade to armor proficiency. But I see your point. The main reason people use Champion archetype has been for the armor.

@@WisdomCheck Yeah and like its all chill; its just always felt a little power gamey and this change makes there have to be a thematic progression to H.armor rather than it just being "Well; of course I gotta go champion because we're playing at so and so level with Free Archetype so I can afford to do it and I gain more than I lose." As some people did. Not that there's anything wrong with this; but its a conscious decision by Paizo to reduce this kind of vibe at base which I think is healthy. It could also possibly not be conscious and actually be a result of the incoming Champion/Commander Dedications and it just so happened to spill over; but its a healthy change IMO.

That's Odd is and always has been OP. But it's fun for the GM to come up with weird random shit. And yes it's a class that REQUIRES that you work well with your GM.

Yeah that's true and sad. Unless the group WANTS that. It could be fun if only 1 person in the group is truly prepared to be an Investigator and the others find supporting roles fun.

@@wee3ist sure. But rocky deserts aren't constant mountainous terrain. Forests with trees are constant coverage. So the rocks in the rocky desert provide less opportunity than trees in a forest would.

Unfortunately no, because it's an attack, but not a Strike and DaS specifically requires a Strike. And hell yeah it's worth it. I like it a lot. And y'know, I think I like your idea of the "mystery" kind of being any old thing. It allows the Investigator to use their abilities well most of the time. Still, this class will require a creative player and a flexible GM.

Ok yes I do agree. I think I'm in the minority that loved the complexity and weirdness of the old Oracle. I hadn't realized that until recently. It seems that they NEEDED to make this adjustment simply to have more people willing to play the class. I agree that it's a lot easier to understand now and that was desperately needed as well. I made a couple of Oracles myself but never made a video for them because it was hard to imagine a story that had "Oracle" at it's center. I did use the Archetype for my Wildfire Druid Build Video but it was just the flavor that I wanted, not the actual game play. Hmm. Maybe now there will be more creativity around the Oracle. I hope so. It seems a shame to think that the Oracle was just a waste to put into PF2 (because so few people play it, I mean).

Yeah Crossblooded didn't need to have that treatment. It could have just be a differently named feat so that you can have both. And YES. Sorcerers shouldn't be REQUIRED to take a melee spell. That change is major.

Most of it is from that feat, yes. But you still don't gain the general benefit from the Mystery and you have to spend 2 feats to get most of the curse benefit back.

@@WisdomCheck The splash damage option will work on hitting the same target group multiple times, while the persistent damage would be useful to attack multiple targets. It gives options, but it still feels like a level 13 feat, not 17.

@@Dudeman715 lol sounds like a fun opportunity to fail forward. If you critically fail normally you can get your lock picks stuck in the lock but with this if you just simply fail you could have your tools stuck in the lock.
