    8:07 2D 6 per level. Of course, it doesn't say if it means your level or the constructs level but still that's a lot of damage

    In Blood Lords, in the Fields of Maidens, our party raided an enemy camp. We didn't make any prisoners, but at that point, I decided to respec my witch's free archetype on the way back home, using one of the enemies' corpses as the basis for my reanimated companion. The respec duration was actually the time it took me to build that companion. Since then Zaela has been a great addition to the party, taking hits instead of players, doing some athletic maneuvers and sometimes, even doing some damage.
    Stuff like Hijack Undead is fun too in that particular campaign, but it's not easy for my witch to hit anything^^

      Hah! Yeah it's weird when an Archetype seems built for a caster but you have to use your ACTUAL melee attack ability for it. I think I'm stripping all of those out of my games and just making it EITHER your melee attack OR your spell attack. It makes more sense for the people that would be more likely to take those abilities/Archetypes.
      I love hearing your story; I even like that it felt organic during gameplay. How did you roleplay your minion, if you did? I'm making a build with an emphasis on the minion for the Clockwork Reanimator and I'm looking for ideas.

      @@WisdomCheck Spoiler alert: there are some minor spoilers about Blood Lords below. Read at your own risks.
      My construct being a previous human, I would first think that it would only work in a setting like Blood Lords where your characters can be evil. It would probably be safer to make your minion from a non-intelligent creature if you want to be able to walk the streets of Absalom without being arrested^^
      I love minion-based characters in general, whether in TTRPG or in MMO. At first I had wanted to make my witch more like a necromancer, but I almost never had the opportunity to "animate dead" so I basically gave up on that. (I also wasted some gold on a create undead ritual just to see the created undead get one-shot by an AOE a few hours later^^;)
      She is more like a puppet master now.
      Her familiar is a poppet (her favorite toy from when she was a child) who wishes her dead as it might make her free (her dreams have been crushed recently when my witch became a lich.) During her quest to lichdom, she found and adopted her familiar's sister and turned her into her soulcage. She also found an Ebon Marionette at some point during the AP.
      And then, there is Zaela, the construct, who when she was alive was a Ganzi monk-type NPC. For her token, I have tried to keep her global appearance as a Ganzi with a tail (which she uses as her main attack), but by adding some metallic part and reconfiguring her, she has become quite taller.
      Most of her brain is now clockwork, she is in theory more or less mindless, but at times she has glimpses of memories of her previous life.
      She was part of a fanatical faction that hates Geb and undead in general. She hates her current situation and wishes to die, but the control my witch has upon her is too strong. The fact that she still has those memories is voluntary on the part of my character (she's a follower of Zon-Kuthon)

    me and a friend are hoping that one day we can get an all focused "minionmancer" class, because while is fun using pets and summons, having something powerful and in good numbers would be cool (maybe a class that focus on placing a few "Minions" and using its own actions and accurancy to allow them to grapple or attack?)

    • @WisdomCheck
      @WisdomCheck  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It seems that they tried to do that with the Summoner but didn't quite satisfy that desire for that fantasy. They even gave the Summoner an augment summoning feat but they gave barely a nod to making summoning or Conjuring or commanding minions good for them. So I agree it's something missing in this system.

      @@WisdomCheck i dont think they failed with the summoner, he fills the fantasy of having one powerful pet when animal companions didnt made the cut, but despite still having acces to some summon spells its a far different fantasy from a minionmancer

      Yeah I agree. It seems there are a lot of people who want multiple minions.
