    You do have to keep in mind, are stuck at Train Proficiency in Kineticist Skill until 12 level, and you never get beyond Expert in the MC Kineticist Archetype.

    • @WisdomCheck
      @WisdomCheck  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yes, all true. But they still level in damage and effectiveness as long as you can connect. Meaning that all utility, defensive and other passive powers are JUST as awesome like Timber Sentinel.

    Had a decay barb I'd reflavoured slightly to be a rage their body couldn't handle/raging so hard their body starts falling apart.
    Barbs have some ways to compensate for the speed loss but it'd be good for a mounted barb who doesn't use their speed anyway.
    On the flying comment, there is a graft that was added as a new way for anyone to get it (eventually)

  • @itsmefirefox

    Fun fact in the remaster the barb get a 10 feet bonus to its speed when raging

  • @FireBowProductions
    @FireBowProductions 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    One thing to keep in mind, Remastered Barbarians at 3rd level get a +5 to move speed normally and that increases to +10 while raging. So the -10 speed from Wooden Rage just makes you move your normal speed.

    I have taken the Decay Instinct Barbarian as one of my Free Archetypes (the other being Wild Mimic) for my Awakened Flying Squirrel Monk, and it's been great. I've been picturing the effects as being similar to the cursed animals in Princess Mononoke.

    • @WisdomCheck
      @WisdomCheck  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      OOoooooo dude cool idea. Does your flying squirrel have a fly speed, or did you make it as a climber?

    • @loyalbabus
      @loyalbabus 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@WisdomCheck He does have a flight, yes. I wasn't sure if that would make sense, given that they glide, but the flying animal entry for awakened specifically calls out flying squirrels as an option. Incidentally this campaign has Deviant feats, so he also shoots lasers out his eyes.

    One thing that I find interesting is that they seem to have made the Giant instinct barbarian the new baseline based on this. You take some drawback in exchange for a mininum of 11 damage on a hit. (assuming you got your strength to a +4). In the Giant barbarian case it is using a weapon that makes you clumsy, making you even easier to hit. (except for it would be all the time instead of only while raging)
    I wonder if the reprints of other instincts are going to be similar... to always have that boost to 'increase rage damage to +6 for this drawback'
    at the same time, seems to be optional, so perhaps the weapons will grow in size when you rage to keep the additional damage increase and the clumsy condition, but can rage without it?
    or do the other barbarians not have such a change with them? but I feel like it'd be weird to have some barbarians have the damage increase in exchange for some drawback but not all.

    • @WisdomCheck
      @WisdomCheck  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It looks like not all the Barbarians function that way in Player Core 2. I'll have to go over this in detail in a video.
      I do like the format, actually. Making them roughly even in that way would make it easier to choose. But I suppose it would remove versatility too. Hmm

    • @kiilgore806
      @kiilgore806 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@WisdomCheck huh interesting. Do some of them from player core 2 have that effect though? (other than the giant, unless the giant was changed lol)
      I'm surprised that it was only/mainly for the wardens of wildwood instincts though. if the player core 2 ones don't. These made it seem like a trend lol.

    I hope this new drawbacks for the Barbarian rage come with some significant advantages, because stuff like 15ft speed can be brutal, specially if the -1 AC is still around. We will need to see the final version of the barbarian class but i hope its still quite fun to play

    In regards to stopping decomposition:
    Rise of the Shield Hero just appeared on Netflix. One of the fights was a zombue dragon that left to rot.
    If your GM is ontop of things, this is a prime example of why you don't leave bodies to rot.

      Seems like the damage is untyped unfortunetly....
      but nothing preventing you from getting it healed... from say fast healing. (ex: soulforger wtih a 'fast healing' effect in the 'awakened form' since that form for the weapons doesn't need sustaining. Just activate it, then rage.)
      I mean, the fast healing is at start of turn, necrotic rage is at end of turn so you're still going into enemy turns damaged... but at least you'll be healed a bit in comparison.
