- Dragonblood Versatile Heritage is here! Get your Draconic Gorillas (Awakened Animal), Spider-Dragons (Anadi) and Dracoliches ready! (Skeleton)
The Dhampir and Duskwalker are a bit diminished, but they may be pumped back up with other books. For me and my table and my builds on my channel, Dhampir and Duskwalker haven't lost any feats. They all still exist. I suggest you do the same. :D

The legacy feats are still compatible with the remaster. Except for everything that deals with alignment.
Yeah agreed. I'm trying to work that into my videos now. Thank you for the reminder.
part of it too is that only the advanced players guide and crb options were supposed to be remastered here, and the other feats and lineages weren’t even from the core product line
Step 1: Pick Kobold for ancestry; Step 2: Choose Dragonblood versatile heritage; Step 3: Rejoice in a kobold with even more draconic ties than ever before!
@@triforceadm7345 LOL true
Half-Dragon Kobolds?
I think they only reprinted the feats for dhampir and duskwalker that were in the Advanced Players Guide. Feats from the Ancestry Guide are still usable, that manual is just waiting for some errata to be brought up to date with the remastered, so no need to worry I would say
I agree that it is LIKELY the case. But people cling on to their character's abilities and don't want to change the thing they love. Some assurance would be helpful.
@@WisdomCheck Agreed, also there are GMs that have a no going back mentality with the remaster. I wish there was at least a level 1 ancestry feat that allowed kobolds to choose from dragonblood feats like a specialized adopted ancestry in lieu of the skeleton's "As in Life, So in Death". Also some of these feats sound like they came from dragon's disciple.archetype
Yeah I agree with the easier access for Kobolds. And yeah they do sound like that. I think that I'm saddened by the lack of overall creativity with the creation of Dragonblood. They mostly just grabbed things from other areas of the game.
I was going to say, keep in mind that anything that is not explicitly reprinted is still valid. The only invalid stuff is stuff that's "overwritten" by new stuff.
@@katherineberger6329 @katherineberger6329 very true. I hope there is a sidebar in the remaster books about this. I know some sticklers that put up air quotes unless it's printed on page.
Dragon-spider dragon-spider, does whatever dragon-spider does…
@@redrikari Hahhahah next character?
@@WisdomCheck Mayhaps 😁
I'm now imagining goblin dragonbloods interacting with kolbalds. There would be chaos.
@@y813lnJack Oh wow. Yes there would. This has to be done now.
"The nerfing of options sucks more than the nerfing of power" had to subscribe immediately after such a powerful truth was spoken.
Hah Awesome! I'm glad you're here; you're the kind of person I really want on this channel and/or in Discord. People that understand what matters most: fun. :D
Paizo hate vampires. Just look at Vampire dedication and Ghoul dedication. See who's got actual flavor and thought put onto them... They just felt obligated to have vampires because it was the book of *the dead*. But anyways... maybe it's just me.
@@solmateusbraga the vampire Archetype definitely has flaws I'll give you that.
I don’t see it as Paizo hating vampires as much as the struggle for them to create vampires worth playing w/o making them overpowered. I could be wrong.
I will say if there’s one Ancestry Paizo hates it is the Shoony. Either that or they simply forgot it exists.
@@Captainpigraven it seems like it's difficult to make anything that people want to play that is for a power fantasy that isn't overpowered. Look at the werecreature archetype.
I think when you have a lot of different ancestries it's hard to make all of them stand out. It could be that they just don't have passionate creativity for the Shoony right now.
@@WisdomCheck Or maybe they'll just push them out in a Player Core 3 - after all 1) they have hinted that they want to remaster Gunslinger, Inventor et cetera, and 2) they already remade two races that originally appeared in the Mwangi Expanse splatbook, the gno... I mean, Kholo and Tripkee. Also 3) who wouldn't want to play as a PUG?
@@alarkhar Hahahahah
Personally, I feel like they should have left Kobolds alone, and gave them options for slight buffs if they took the Dragonblood Heritage, as it shows that they have a far closer tie to their Draconic ancestor. Owell, maybe with time they'll readjust them into a new direction (kinda like what they did with Goblins maybe?)
I think its for OGL reasons to broaden what Kobolds revere so dnd isn't like "Hey we did draconic Kobolds First" but I really like they made it easy to still HAVE draconic kobolds.
I have no idea. I'd prefer they choose to make them a fey type of creature like in folklore and have them steal people's shoes and shit.
@@WisdomCheck Or tie them closer too the elements, and make them elemental creatures, or elemental fused fey creatures.
Dude! Totally!
The text of Draconic Sight is somehow wrong. It lists "low-light vision" as a prerequisite, but then says it grants low-light vision? WTF?
Hahahahah so many typos.
Excited for dragonblood!
Yeah! SO many fun combinations.
Scaly Hide sounds familiar because it's basically the Scales of the Dragon feat from the Dragon Disciple archetype, which had to be removed for OGL reasons. Draconic Scent and Form of the Dragon also got ported over from DD.
@@rainraven9881 Yeah they feel familiar to me too.
Nobody has mentioned yet that the Dragonblood feat Draconic sight requires you to have low-light vision, but then says you gain low-light vision unless you already have it?
Sound like errata material lol
lol yeah
I didn't process that for some reason. You're totally right though. Makes no frickin' sense.
Draconic is a common language though. Everyone has access. That sounds like an oversight (similar to the low-light vision thing). It is probably meant to give Draconic as well as low-light vision (or upgrade if you already have it) like EVERY other VH lol.
Yes! I agree. I think it should be a free language. Like it's natural for you. Ancestral memory.
Personally, I'm not too concerned about removal of two of the Dhampir heritages, because I know practically nothing about them. But the Hopping Corpse vampires could have been a cool ancestry to tackle. At least they kept the Nosferatu-Born, who are probably my favorite of the Dhampir heritages. Also, I wanna make a Dhampir Kobold, but don't have any further ideas on the concept beyond him being a half vampire, dragon boy.
Scaly Hide at level 1 is the same wording as the level 6 Barbarian feat exclusive to Animal Barbarians.
Honestly I really like dragon blood and I’m glad this type of character is finally playable in pathfinder 2. Honestly my biggest issue arises from the new dragons replacing the old. The new breath weapon types repeat a bunch of times it’s kind of annoying and really shoehorns you flavor wise
Wow I didn't think of that fact. It's true though. Huh. Maybe just use the old ones. lol
Im sad about dhampir but at least the dragon heritage is cool
Yeah it is cool. And we should all just still use the other feats until they tell us otherwise. They may clarify further during GenCon in a couple weeks, but we're supposed to still be able to use stuff from pre-remaster.
10:20 They are broadening the flavor of kobold so that they are different from DnD Kobolds that only worship dragons. If you want the old kobold feel and the removed feats on your bold you can VERY easily have it by doing a Kobold with the Dragon blood Heritage.
The issue is that the Heritage slot being given up means you can't fill it with, say, Dhampjr and have a little dragon vampire.
I mean, I guess with that specific example you can take the Archetype, but Vamp is kind of unplayable bad.
One does not need to remove in order to broaden especially when trying to recreate what already existed now bar other versatile heritages. Its a net minus for those who play with GM's that have the look forward mindset (ie only remaster).
Yes I agree - requiring that you use your Heritage slot to get back the lost abilities and flavor of the Kobold is just silly. And Vamp is very near unplayable. It has drawbacks and flavor and little else until high levels. I'm just gonna leave this here. (free content)

@@WisdomCheckThis is so great, thanks! I’ve got a player dead set on playing a vampire once school is back in session. I told her I’d play around with it and try to make it better, but I just haven’t had the time. I haven’t looked this over but I’ll go ahead and assume it’s playable, lol.
@@Captainpigraven groovy! I hope you have a hell of a lot of fun with it. Here's the video link in case you want to watch the video for Vampire. I would choose a couple of new weaknesses that you know that it will be easy for you to include so that if you need to at the appropriately dramatic time you can make the player's regeneration fail.

Hahhahahah
Yeah, there's no way to keep them away from the desk when I'm shooting. They may know that I have treats.
@@WisdomCheck when is the cat lore video coming?
@@blueThumbnail lol
wait... seriously?
I would say the most underwhelming of the secondary benefits of the dragonblood lineages is actually the Divine one's bonus to initiative. Usually someone in your party will Scout, which gives the same bonus and they don't stack. I mean... I suppose if you aren't with them and don't do it yourself that's a +1 you wouldn't get?
I think that depends on your group. My group really doesn't do "preparation" or "scouting" per se, so it's a true benefit to have +1. For your group though, it totally makes sense. I with my group tried to think that far ahead lol.
Sad that they didn't give all of the feats for the heritages....
Also, sadness for the kobolds, they did them dirty.
Looking foward to AoN updating.
I hope the next thing you cover is more fun for you❤.
lol yeah it is more fun for me to be doing Oracle now. And YES I'm looking forward to Archives updating
Not as exciting a heritage as I was hoping for, but it gives the basics. Maybe the Tian Xia character options will give more dragonblooded feats.
DAMN I hope so!
Poor kobolds man, first they get made to look like sharks now they dont even get to be dragons :(
Exactly!
Guess I need to get to making more dhampir feat!
Hahahah yeah. Wait until I've released my interview from today with Mark Seifter though. It's possible the Ancestry guide will re-release the same feats again. (from pre-remaster).
I haven't done the interview yet, it'll be in 2 hours.
Might want to make sure they fix the typos and structuring issues before buying the book.
@@Iceblade269 Yeaaaaaah.
hmm... wondering what classes this 'jives' with well. Like, thematically Draconic barbarian with this I think would be cool.
One thing I do find interesting however, is that the scales natural armor still counts as unarmored and doesn't have the strength stuff. Which that could work well with laughing shadow magus I think, since the better boost to speed is if you're unarmored. and the scales are technically not 'armor' mechanically. I wonder if other ancestral armors are being made the same way. Because it would seem weird that you could TECHNICALLY make a character that wouldn't be trained in the defenses of their own body. (Like a titain nagaji in a class that didn't provide medium armor)
lol Yeah that wouldn't make any sense. I really love the option of this kind of non-armor. Monks, Rogues, Magi - hell yeah!
Kinda like the direction they've taken Kobolds, thematically speaking (I hate that they have taken the Draconic things out of them, even if they got something in return). I just like that they don't follow a dragon, demon or whatever glowy rock that just so happens to shed sufficient magical energy because they think their patron is cool, but also because it quite literally makes their babies stronger, and thus more likely to survive Golarion.
Hell, this even makes independent Kobold tribes kinda cooler as well. A Kobold who is powerful enough can serve as the big source of magical energy that empowers the hatchlings.
In a way, their patron is kind of like a third parent for every child born under their influence.
Yah I agree with that. I like that they are highly-magically-morphic as it were. They could even re-route and spread their power to their underlings. I like that. I think they could focus on that and make them hyper-adaptable in general.
the Nephilim, legacy kobolds, awakened animals have a better fly speed than dragon blooded
@@ericespiritu1468 Hahahha yeah... well it's because they're so heavy, you see.
Feats are pretty underwhelming imho. Look at the breath scaling. At level 9 it's 5d4/5d6? Hopefully we will have other books that improve those, similar to the poor dhampir.
Yeah I have to agree on both of those points. This is fair to middlin'.
No my hobgoblin duskwalker!!! I love the duskwalker feats so much... i am eagerly awaiting the oracle review. Paizo has teased it so much...
Yeah they have. And it's both good and bad, like many things. We got lucky with the Alchemist. The Alchemist is almost all just good.
I mean. Paizo openly and actively encourages using legacy content alongside remaster content. I assume that anything that wasn't reprinted explicitly is instead "This has no functional changes."
Has there been anything on Kholo / gnolls by any chance?
YES! It's minor stuff, but it's still new stuff. I'll make a short video on it.
Once again, Pathfinder takes something present in D&D and makes it not suck. Also, 16:43 - DRAGON RAT!
@@Nyrufa Hahaha yeah agreed
@@WisdomCheck Notice the breath weapon can be used once every 1d4 rounds, instead of a limited number of times per day. Because, yeah, Dragons don't have a limit on how many times they can use it, so why should we?
Totally agree. That's a very "Dragon" thing. Recharging your breath weapon quickly.
A spider-dragon.....kinda like the experimental Gremlins in Gremlins 2
Yes! I love that movie!
That thing was FUCKING CREEPY!
Hmm.....yeah think I'm gonna stick with battlezoo dragons
@@mizerablegit4720 Understandable. ❤️
So they see Kobolds as just spineless creatures that will latch onto anything more powerful than themselves?
...yes.
But also they scream!
FLEEING SHRIEK [two-actions] FEAT 9
AUDITORY KOBOLD SONIC
Frequency once per hour
You let out an ear-piercing screech. Each creature in a 10-foot
emanation takes 5d6 sonic damage, with a basic Fortitude
saving throw against the higher of your class DC or spell DC.
You then Stride, and this movement doesn’t trigger reactions
from any creature that failed or critically failed its saving throw.
At 11th level and every 2 levels thereafter, the damage
increases by 1d6.
In D&D, they used to have a racial ability called "Grovel, Cower and Beg."
Yeah I think it was inspired by the Gully Dwarves of 2nd edition DnD. I liked that ability a LOT. Because it's silly and flavorful.
Scaly hide is insane for monks on lvl 1.
Am I misunderstanding, isn't that a *huge* buff. +2 item bonus to AC on explorer's clothing is like wearing medium armour, no?
@PersephoneApplewhite-uk8ts while true, most Monk Stances require unarmored. This is a way to circumvent that downside but gain the medium armor benefits. That's where the buf part comes in.
It really is a buff and quite nice.
What are they doing to my poor Kobold babies ┻━┻ ︵╰(°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

I'm sad for them too. They're mostly trap-setters and in-combat cowards now. They also have this:

brb, making a Dhampir named Dumb Pierre
*headdesk*
I still love you, Robert.
So with the new dragonblood heritage
doesnt that mean you can now have 3 dragon breaths if you also are running battle zoo dragons
so you grab dragon for your ancestry
heritage dragonblood (red dragon for fire)
barbarian - dragon instinct (white dragon for cold)
grab breath of the dragon feat from dragonblood
now cause you do have a dragon in your heritage you can dedication archtype into dragon ravager (level 2)
level 4 get breath of the dragon feat from dragon ravager dedication which will be fire from your heritage
level 6 grab the dragon instinct barbarians Dragon's Rage Breath feat which will be cold from your barbarian instinct
you now have 3 breath attacks. 2 that do fire, 1 that does cold
lol yah get into position each turn for a dragon breath, or if a few foes are close enough dragon breath + strike
lol Hell add a faerie dragon breath elixir and you can just spam dragon breath every round.
The flight stuff is not on par with the other flight feats. The dragon one gets it earlier than any other race from what I have read.
Animal Ancestry and Tengu have crappy flying at 5th.
@@WisdomCheck tengu gets the 9th level feat once a day can get flight for 5 min unless they get something in the new core that’s better now?
@@nickmortis8229 yup

@@DargorV LOL oh I'm sorry. ☹️
Should I try to chill the fuck out more?
Personally, they need to send the rip off dragon blooded race back to fifth edition DND, because that’s exactly what his dragon blooded stuff is LMAO.
Hey I'm not one who WANTS to play a dragonblood character or even a Draconian or Dragonborn. I just don't care much about dragons. But if people WANT to play a dragon in PF2e, who are we to stop them? People can have whatever fun they want, even if we think it sounds stupid as hell.
@@WisdomCheck if I’m the one running the game, then I guess I am LMAO. Otherwise I think you’re correct on that point but I’m allowed to state my opinion. I don’t think I was rude about it :-) I just think that since it never existed before now they’re just stealing it from fifth edition D&D and they can send it back there
I don't think you were rude at all; I'm just being direct. Of course you're allowed to state your opinion. That's what comment sections are FOR! lol
I do think that it's going to leave a bad taste in the mouths of people who are coming from dnd and had some sort of problem with the dragonborn in that game, but I don't really know where they got it from. It's a trope that's been in sci-fi/fantasy for decades.
@@WisdomCheck that is very true, the trope has been around since Dragonlance I think with the draconian’s, but as player character races I think fifth edition DND is where it showed up, but I’m honestly not sure about that. LMAO. I appreciate direct, as you can tell what my commentary I tend to be rather blunt about my thoughts and opinions, but I do worry sometimes that I come across as rude when I am simply stating my opinion, sorry
Dude - no need to be sorry. Direct doesn't equal asshole. :)
I think this is hidden
Thank you for letting me know - I had JUST made it public when you saw it, so I think it was just slightly delayed in processing for some reason. People should have been able to see it at the same time you were but it took a few minutes longer than expected.
I want to preface this by saying I've only been playing pf2e for a year, but I noticed some weird things in the coverage of dragonblood that I think are obvious typos.
1. The draconic sight feat...has a prerequisite of low-light vision, but it grants low light vision if you don't already have it, or gives darkvision if you already have it.
2. The draconic aspect I'm struggling to wrap my head around. it's a feat you can only grab at first level...?If you have dragon blood I don't think it'd be out of the realm of possibility for you to become more dragon-like over time, gaining the jaws , claw or tail attack. I don't know who would want to grab those unarmed attacks (I guess if you're trying to go for something like clawdancer), but the limitation on being something you can grab at first level only...seems a little silly.
I was excited to have dragonblood but some of these feats....I'm a little mixed on. the fly related feats for instance. to my knowledge, the earliest most ancestries/heritages get a fly speed at level 9, and usually a once per day. Meanwhile dragonblood gets a once per round action that gives them a 20 ft fly speed for the turn, and then it's always on at level 9...
I haven't gotten the level of literacy I have gotten with 5e (which I've dropped the game a few years ago, before the OGL fiasco), but this being on an uncommon ancestry...I dunno, it feels a little strong to me? I get dragons are powerful creatures but...those are the ones that stick out to me as being strong.
Again, maybe this is in line with similar versatile heritages or some ancestries of a similar rarity. Maybe I misread the rarity.
I agree with you on the Draconic Aspect, especially when Scaly Hide has the same limitations... I have to pick whether my Dragonkin has a tail, a snoot, or scales? why can't he have all 3?
@@adamrix7572 I think it's standard to pick one when you grab a similar feat from other ancestries but why not just...make it something you can grab more than once to get the other options if need be XD
I wish you could get it later, like the Fleshwarp Ancestry can. Why can't you just develop better tail muscles later in life? :P
As far as the fly speed goes, compare the Dragonblood to the Flying Awakened Animal Ancestry. Pretty similar flying abilities. I think this is just the way things are changing overall in the system.
