Pedro Sauer Purple Belt Grading - Danny Willmott

Danny started his jiu jitsu journey not 4 years ago. In this amount of time we have seen remarkable growth, both on the mats and off. Solo Mounted Armbar - That Hip Mobility
มุมมอง 1742 ปีที่แล้ว
Tony asks "can you share with me those hip details? My hips are tight and I can't seem to get it right." Tony, think about where your weight is over your legs, and how you can free one side up in order to move it around. The Elusive Elbow Escape from Mount
มุมมอง 3813 ปีที่แล้ว
If the Bridge and Roll is the first mount escape you learn, then the Elbow escape ought to be 1B. The elbow escape is critical because your escape will often come from your opponent's feet rather than their arms. Of course we have Master Sauer to thank for the beautiful details in this video. And we think it'll help you out lots. Let us know if it does by liking the video and commenting your th...
Armbar Drill to Tight Armbars from Guard!
มุมมอง 2813 ปีที่แล้ว
Here is a drill we do at Higher Jiu Jitsu during guard and armbar practice. It involves a partner acting like a table top. It is best to have your wrists a little further apart than shoulder width, and ideally your fingers are inward facing so that your elbows are outward facing. From the bottom you will slowly climb from your partner's lower back to head with your legs, ensuring you maintain t...
No Gi Armbar from Mount
มุมมอง 9313 ปีที่แล้ว
Taran asked us for a no gi armbar variation, so here you go buddy :) You're on top in mount. In order to find armbars from this position it's your job first to separate the opponents' shoulders from their ribs. So hold onto your partner's head, so that they can't slide up with you. Instead, you wedge your femur bones, and then your hips under their elbow and up and around to high mount. Sure it...
What makes Higher Jiu Jitsu special?
มุมมอง 1913 ปีที่แล้ว
What is it about our school that makes it so awesome? What are the characteristics of our culture that make it so awesome? Firstly, it's the curriculum. Every student is on the same path, and together we move in a similar direction. And it's also more than that. At Higher we focus on jiu jitsu as a science, and as a lifestyle. It isn't just a sport for us, it's a way of life. Maybe if we consid...

It's time to get advanced and learn the SuperKnot belt tie. Enjoy!

It was initially shown with a lat grab which is effective as well. Master Sauer teaches in concepts instead of rigid 1 way methods. In order for your training to be effective,I believe approaching with concepts keeps your mind sharp and open. Teaches you to see opportunities that you may not necessarily see from a rigid stand point.

I've learned so much from Pedro over the years. This is super valuable information if you actually take to to heart and use it! If someone has me in a super solid mount I don't try to escape the mount, I escape in the middle of their armbar. I already know in advance that they will try to armbar because I push on their chest to make it irresistible. Combined with good breathing/calmness, this premeditated counter attacking style is the pinnacle of jiu jitsu.
