Such an easy to follow video and install. Thanks, Andy!
Is it possible for the function of the shock absorbers/pressure to change on its own? I have a low garage, so I drive in and park my car in LO mode. I feel like the suspension works quite poorly afterward, but after driving for a while in HI mode and then returning to neutral height, the comfort is definitely better.
Thanks! Hardware kit arrived today and ur vid helped!
Hi Andy, Still waiting for a replacement for my 2021 Tacoma manual. You ever releasing something?
I had a local Toyota dealer replace all 4 shocks. Also had them do an ACH fluid flush. They are saying that the L is flashing on the dash and that the truck is stuck in the low position. I sent them your instructions that are on your website, cheat sheet, and told them to try step 3. They said the pump and everything else about the ACH system seemed to be working fine. Do you have any other recommendations or things they should check?
If it's stuck in low, I expect pressure to be too high. What are your neutral pressures? What diagnostic code is the system showing in techstream?
@@user-df1gh8le6l I need to ask the mechanic at Toyota about the pressures. They bypassed the switch inside the truck that you push to change between low, neutral, and high, to see if the pump would turn on, and it did. When they try to push the up arrow on the button to go in the to neutral height, nothing happens and the L is still flashing on the dash. Should they completely drain the entire ACH system and start the procedure over again?
They need to measure neutral pressures and check techstream codes before doing anything.
@@user-df1gh8le6l If it stuck in low, can they move it in to the neutral position by using Techstream?
No, but they can see pressures build as it tries. Or they can see a trouble code if one exists
Do they include the wera driver now? Looking to purchase soon
Yes! We finally got that sorted out so every kit now ships with a proper 1.3mm hex driver from Wera. They're awesome!
@@user-df1gh8le6l right on!!! I’m ordering the ydm1 for my Land Cruiser on the top of your page, saves me on buying the tool! Thank you for the quick answer!
@@user-df1gh8le6l right on ordering one for my Land Cruiser tonight then! Very excited
Hello, not sure if anyone has asked but could you help me figure out how to get tech stream setup & what all is needed? I have a dedicated PC laptop but that's it, so any advice would me MUCH appreciated? Thanks for letting me know not to remove my hydraulic shocks; I was about to. Best, Bill
You want the ih8mud thread "techstream in 5 minutes". :)
Hey MD. Had rear pressures over 10 when I went through the sheet a few months ago. Recently had 8 people in the LX using the 3rd row seats. About 400 lbs in the rear put me down in L on the AHC. I didn't try to raise for fear that I would damage my suspension with way too much pressure in the rear. I swapped out to a set of Dobinsons C59-269V that are basically stock height. Can't tell the difference in the before and after pics. Ride quality is a little stiffer but not at all uncomfortable. My question is that now my pressure in the rear is very low, down to 4 lbs. Am I doing any damage to the AHC with pressures that low?
If your pressures are low, you're just not letting AHC (or more accurately AVS) do as much as it could. You can expect a harsher ride. Those springs are designed to lift the car 1.75" (on an 80 series) which I believe means at stock height in a 100 they will have more than factory spring rate. That's a very safe approach, but the ride will be harder than Toyota/Lexus intended. Personally, I would switch to King springs, perhaps with 30mm spacers.
Hi Andy, I recently purchased your titanium reinforced Toyota Lexus key kit, and I wanted to share some feedback. Unfortunately, the experience of assembling the key FOB was quite frustrating. The cheap right-angle tool included in the kit was not up to the task-it was difficult to use, and it ended up stripping both the tool and the screws. The screws are now in the key fob, but they’re damaged. I’m concerned that when the time comes to change the battery, I won’t be able to unscrew them because both the screw heads and the tool have lost their grip. This could create an even bigger issue down the line. I understand the need to manage costs, but the quality of the tools provided made the assembly process unnecessarily difficult. I would strongly encourage you to reconsider the inclusion of such a tool in future kits. It’s important to ensure that the products you sell don’t compromise the customer experience. Thank you for taking the time to consider my feedback.
Hello! Yes! Completely agreed. The Wera driver has actually been erratic and slow due to logistics, not so much cost concerns. Please shoot me an email and I'll be sure to get you a complimentary set of screws and Wera driver. Additional anecdote, I started including Wiha drivers and bits, but they couldn't keep up. I bought out digikey, Amazon and Wiha immediately and it took weeks to restock so I abandoned it. Wera has a choppy setup process for OEMs (multiple signed forms to initiate orders) so it's just been rough. However, I think we're at the precipice now and we should see wera drivers going out on all YotaMD kits that involve a key blade this month. Thanks again and please send me your email so we can be sure to get you that driver.
@@user-df1gh8le6l Thank you so much for responding and for standing behind your product. I will send all my friends your way. Thanks, Andy!
4 -12 holes help for little pressure clean inside internal plus they help if get clogged & still run
I can't seem to find a stock 7m-ge engine bay vacuum explanation video, is there anyone who does know?
I just bought an lx and I think someone may have adjusted sensors previously for a small sensor lift. Without a “benchmark” for sensor position would you still follow this process and end up back to factory specs? If you were wanting to do a sensor lift, would your height readings in tech stream read 1.5 for example at the end of this process?
On the 4Runner, you CANNOT reach the back (lower) bolts for the air injection valves. We were able to remove the side bolts that connect those valves to the exhaust tubes with a 1/4" socket, wobble joint and a combination of extensions. We zip-tied the wire harness up to the windshield wiper and taped the bolt to the socket and taped the wobble joint. It was not easy, but we were able to do it. The 2 air injection valves were removed WITH the rear coolant bypass and installed WITH the rear coolant bypass. Hardest part of the job, hands down.
How the fuel economy looks
Big job!
Question - Noticing you have checking gradations as the last step on the cheat sheet - I've got an '03 showing between 6 and 7 gradations right now - if I go through all the steps of tuning up the AHC, will I see an improvement in gradations or should I just bite the bullet and get new globes before I even bother? In other words, does doing the tuneup have any impact on gradations? I have a feeling the two are unrelated (since the globes and hydraulic fluid are separately sealed systems) but wanted to check. Thanks for a great video.
thanks for the video. Recently purchased and installed the kit today. Neither of the hex key options you mentioned were included in my kit. I ended up stripping the included hex key; kind of a bummer. Key kit is great, love the look and feel, very happy with my purchase.
I had a similar bad experience with that cheap right angle tool that was included. Stripped my screws also. Kind of bummed because now when I have to change the battery I'm going to lose those screws if I can even get them out.
Thank You for the great information. During the test you mentioned you were also mentioning fuel flow. Do you have the figures on the fuel flow during these tests?
I went to your website to buy this product but $80 for postage is a joke. Why is it so much
I didn't think we have any shipping options that high. Where are you shipping too?
Looking at a Land Cruiser with AHC it has 150k miles and lived its life in California 99% rust free. Should I be concerned with AHC and move on to another LC ? Don't wanna remove ach and replace I like stock stuff
Can you use a key blade that was from a non fob integrated key? Like the valet key?
No, you need a key blade from a remote key
Would lowering the rear ride height a bit help reduce the pressure in the rear by shifting more of the load to the springs? I would rather do this than get new springs if that is the case. Can anyone confirm?
Yes, that would work, but keep in mind you'll be killing ride quality if you go much lower. You'll hit the bump stops on rough roads. I'd consider spring spacers before lowering the sensors.
@@user-df1gh8le6l you’re the man! That makes sense I will look into spacers or new springs. This video has been a lifesaver. Its wild how hard it has been to find good information on AHC until this. Thank you!
I got the panel, I got same filters and they are too long, they do not fit at all. Anyone got any idea?
Are you using Driftmotion's Digital CPS sensor? I was considering getting one since my research is suggesting the symptoms I'm experiencing with crank and no start conditions indicates a degrading cps sensor. For reference, my Supra is stock.
Suprarx7nut hello
It’s a replica.
Lost a screw and didn't use my fob for a couple of years..... bought the kit and benefited by the new shim. Feels much stronger...no more play.
You dont happen to have a complete list of parts with part numbers from this job? If not I can go through the video and get them from what you showed. I have a GX470 which is leaking coolant similar to this so would like to do the same job and change the started while I'm at it. Should be all the same since its the same engine right?
Made in Chine?
Thanks for the great explanation! Does Techstream work for Lexus 1999? How do you connect it with this model?
If the injector duty cycle goes above 25% then you are experiencing fuel stand-off, which the dyno bloke mentions. Over 25% duty cycle the fuel just pools on the back of the valve diminishing positive effects of fuel atomisation. The higher the duty cycle the worse it would be. Probably why you see slight gains at lower rpm for the 12 hole. Do you know what duty cycle they were running? The industry has moved to direct injection as they are less limited by duty cycle and fuel stand off.
these kinds of car are only for handy people? why not many mechanics out there know how to do it, not everyone is handy, they need these to be done in auto shops.
Is it easier getting to it from underneath? I have access to a lift and planning out this job!
would love to see how it looks now :D
Just received this new shim for my LX and it is much tighter than my GX-OR key without the shim. Nice upgrade! I love both of mine, I just wish we had a UZJ100 or Land Cruiser logo for the 100 series owner. Great job!!
mine won’t fill and i have no idea why
Thank you so much for being such a helpful expert to the community! I’m having trouble finding King springs that fit a 2007 - any suggestions?
eBay!
Thanks so much for this video! I have a 2003 with 253K and I Iove the AHC and was already happy with the ride. I checked my pressures and the front was at 7.3 so I marked and cranked the torsion bars until it now reads 6.5 and rides even better!! My rear is still at 6.3, without installing King Springs, what options do I have to get the rear in specs? Adding spacers? Thanks!
Spacers would probably be good. They tend to be worth .5 so that would get close to a good pressure.
Still have my yota md kit on my gs key for 5yrs now!
Just here confirming I didn't buy fake ignition coils from amazon... thank you
Excellent work.
Thanks for making this video.
I liked your motivational words " NO need to scared" 😊
I need something like this for a 1993 Lexus GS300 - I can't find a replacement for this key, it is a single button version. Pls let us know - Thanks!
Is it possible to replace the gasket behind the timing plate without removing the head?
i got a question if I have oem injector 1pin hole @ 243.8cc p/m and swap for 4pin hole 232.1cc p/m, will the 4pin hole spray more fuel than the single pin hole? can the 5.9L magnum benefit from 4pinhole vs the oem 1pin hole?
Can you fit a 35" tire with a AHC
where did u buy Denso reman starters?
I bought from Rock Auto and I would absolutely NOT recommend purchasing from them. I had a dead on arrival starter be denied for exchange/refund because I was barely past the 30 day return window.
Are these ignition coils the same as the ones purchased from the dealership? I replaced a bad ignition coil, but the Denso coil I purchased from a local automotive store does not have the same part number. The original coil has "Denso" and "Toyota" stamped on it, but the new coil is only stamped with "Denso." They look very similar. The new coil even has a spot where the Toyota name would be engraved. I feel like the Toyota Denso coils are just price marked up Denso coils. Thank you.
They are not necessarily the *exact* same thing. Denso is the OE supplier to Toyota/Lexus, but not every Denso part is made in the same factory to the same specs as a Toyota/Lexus part. For the most part, buying Denso ensures you're getting Toyota or near Toyota quality parts, but Denso also makes reman units made in Mexico and other countries that absolutely do not manufacture the original parts in the factory floor Toyota/Lexus models. I've had multiple Denso parts be dead out of the box. Never once have I had a genuine Toyota/Lexus part do that.
Great job amigo, very clear and well done, keep up the great work.
