Great video man! I own an 87 Supra and haven't changed the trans or diff oils yet. This helped a lot. I've heard Supra guys like using Redline MT90 best for the trans. Your thoughts on MT90 vs what you used?
I've used MT90, Royal Purple and regular old Valvoline dino oil in the W58 and R154 trans and honestly never noticed a difference with any of them. In the Diff I've used Royal Purple, Mobil1, dino Valvoline and a couple others. same deal, never noticed a difference. The good synthetics should remain effective longer, but I wouldn't sweat it. Just having fresh quality oil replaced at regular intervals fine, IMO, for any street-oriented MK3.
My worry is I've read GL5 can eat the synchros in the trans. So I was planning on going GL4 in the trans and a LSD approved GL5 in the diff. But I'm no expert. The TSRM says GL4 or GL5 will work in the trans. Thanks for your input!
yeah trying to get my over heating issues fixed .. keeps steaming from the 90 under the thermostat .. I know I have a loooooong way to go .. I might go with a 1jz swap
That Supra must be from a northern state, or right on the coast with all that surface rust on the undercarriage. I did the shiftier hole fill too on my Supra, I also drained the fuel tank which was an easy job, painted my 3000 pipe red, looks good too. At least you're garaging this car now, why people purchase these cars and can't garage them is beyond me, they will rust if you don't.
Blue Metallic, 8J3. I believe it's 1 of the 6 colors that were only offered in 91 or 92. It's a significant part of why I bought this chassis for this project.
awesome video looking forward to more!
someone filled that diff with only the rear jacked up haha
Yeah, that would explain it!

Not yet, but I should jump on there. Someone already took the "yotamd" name, unfortunately.
