    Remember everyone if you buy this don’t expect to fly like this . This a professional pilot. Or at least really advanced. I got my quad and it wouldn’t arm out of the box a couple TH-cam videos later and a maiden flight. Now I’m here. Watching what this bad boy can do in capable hands. Your flying makes mine look like a child using it as a toy.can you say angle mode?

      flight "skill" is all about flight time and enjoying the flight. I have a few fpv years under my belt and continue to enjoy myself with each flight. Keep flying and you will feel more comfortable and confident.

    Also my tinyhawk 2 came with the motors having JST connectors or w/e they are called with the 3 ports. They were not soldered on at all. Everything else was the same. Camera had a connector and LED's were soldered.

    Great detailed review! Now a subscriber. Were you able to bind it in D16 like my Tinyhawk S (without telemetry)? A fix I found online to calm down 2S flying indoors is to create a second model on my Xlite Pro with the throttle input scaled down to 50%. Works pretty good with a little more flight time.

  • @BMathiesen
    @BMathiesen 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Damn hell of a pilot my friend! Straight rippin through your house! So yea my tinyhawk 2 sucks so much on 1s batteries. I almost think mine doesn't even fly like yours does on 1s. The throttle takes me up SUPERRRR slow, and it just doesnt get up to speed for crap. Specially if were comparing it to the original tinyhawk witch has much better throttle and speed on 1s batteries. 2s batteries are great but I cant get them to charge fully aswell as I cant find any locally. In the process of putting a dual JST2.0 connector so I can use two 1s batteries. All info online seems that it should be just fine and have seen 1-2 people have done this successfully.

    Hey Nick, I bought this Tinyhawk II and was pleased but it did have much shorter flight times than i expected and was a tiny bit disappointed but after catching a couple vids from UAV Tech and Bardwell I decided to try the 48khz and rpm filtering. WOW! I cant believe what a difference it made. I am consistently flying 3:45 to 4:15 every pack indoors on 1s 520mah, a full minute more flight time and much much quieter and smoother. If i fly real clean in my small home it can be a little better. I am sure you probably know this but i thought I would share with you and your audience. Thank you for sharing this great hobby with us and keeping it real and fun. Shalom

    Did you use Rate profile 2 for 2S like it said on the warning card? Rate profile does not auto switch (that’s for PID profile only). The Rate profile may have throttle tweaks to help with the 2S power curve.

      I didn't use the secondary rate profile.

      Yes, unlocking allows us to use the power output of the hardware. Its often locked as its "illegal" to use above 25mw without a ham license or just not allowed depending on the country. Thank you. I appreciate the kind words. I have enjoyed rc for many years and as an adult found fpv which is nearly all the rc I do these days. The fpv experiences is so unique and speaks to me.

I don’t mind getting the TinyHawk 2, do u mind making a tutorial video on how to make this work with Jumper T16? Thanks. Just having trouble with input and mixes, been a while since I worked on X9D Plus. Thank you so much.

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not used the T16, the key element is to ensure we are using frsky protocol on the radio, and d8 or 8 channel mode to bind. Mixers would be setup for our switches or "AUX" channels in betaflight. There should be many tutorials how to setup the radio and mixers/AUX channels on youtube and other places.

      I would use a throttle cut on the quad itself. I believe joshua bardwell has a good video on throttle cut. Its like a governor that limits the thrust to a desired amount...say 70%.

    I have the original tinyhawk and I am not looking to upgrade unless for a mobula 6.. But my frame has taken a beating and I am wondering if I can transplant it into this frame. I would not want the weight to be much heavier tho.... What is the weight of the frame alone compared to the original. Also is the s frame more durable that the original. It seems the spokes are wider but not sure if it makes an actual difference

    Hi Nick I usually build and set up my own quads.....However I've decided I want an indoor smooth quad to fly around the house I did have a mobula7 over a year ago but even with throttle taming on betaflight I just couldn't get on with it and got rid of it.
    Watching a few youtube videos i'm now thinking of buying the new Emax tinyhawk 2 flying on 1s battery looks like a smooth indoor flyer (im not looking to race just to fly around the house under the tables chairs etc)...So here's my question ?
    My TX is a Taranis X9D+ Special Edition which is a EU version and my four outside quads all have EU software R-SXR receivers on them bound to D16.
    My Tx had either D16 or LR12 bind modes....Ive just put the latest Taranis update on my radio not ticking 'eu' on Open TX when I flashed it so now I have the option of either D16 or D8 binding.
    I've read online that through betaflight in the receiver option you can change the tinyhawk 2 from a 'Frsky D for 8 channel' to 'Frsky X for 16 channel' so the real question is this.....Can I now bind in D8 Mode or D16 Mode and what would be the difference am I still getting full telemetry in both ?
    I only have one model set up in my Tx so all my quads are bound to that ie D16 mode so if I bound to D8 my other models wouldn't work unless I created a second model to bind in D8 ?
    Basically if I bound in D16 like all the other four quads I could then run the tinyhawk on the one model set up but would I still get telemetry ? I'm just trying to work out the difference between D8 and D16 ?
    The Emax tinyhawk states its a spi receiver compatible with Frsky D8 mode ?
    Thanks for any advice .

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Having so many quads I have three models setup on my opentx radios. D16, D8 and Flysky...I have an external module for flysky. I copied the D16 model and renamed it each time for the D8 and flysky. I changed the radio protocol for the other two models. I would suggest D8 mode, very few integrated Rx (spi) are reliable in d16, even if they bind and work, they can cause other issues like short lockouts. My tinyhawks have all be bound in d8 mode. I think the tinyhawk 2 version supports both versions, but again I used d8.

      When you say downloading betaflight I presume we are talking about the computer application to access the betaflight firmware on the tinyhawk? There are also drivers needed to be installed on the computer. They are linked on the opening page of the betaflight configuration application. • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First the vtx would need to be unlocked. Press the button by the usb port and hold the button in, then power the TH2, after a moment release, and disconnect power. If the vtx is unlocked we can either use the button and the instructions, or go into the osd with left stick mid and full left, right stick full up center. Select features then smart audio. There we should see a selecting to increase the power or mw, change the value with the right stick mid and full right.

      @@NickBurnsFPV I have a problem with my tinyhawk2, I binded it with the radio, and on betaflight I can see the switches and input actions as gas, yaw pitch and roll working, I also added the arm control, and other 2 as I see in videos, but then, if I power it up with the radio binded it doesn't fly, althought the leds blink wile giving inputs from the radio (that shows that the binding is correct) the props don't spin, it is not working.... can you help??

      @@swimbeyonder do you see that with the drone connected to computer and the betaflight configuration application on screen that when you move the controller sticks there is movement on the receiver page? If so, we only need to set a switch to the arming on the modes tab of the betaflight application.

      @@swimbeyonder Need to set one of the switches to the arm mode. It won't arm while connected to usb for safety, but we want to make sure when we move the switch the arming mode moves from not armed to armed.
