I have learned that I prefer the 75mm whoops. My TinyHawk II was my first drone and find I enjoy flying it more than my Mobula6. I wish the other drone companies would due like Emax and use rubber bands to hold the batteries. It makes it much easier to try all sizes of batteries.
Dang...another quad I have to get! Haha I feel like everything that's coming out the past couple months is just awesome! Also, I love that you and the guys from Infinity loops are shouting eachother out and promoting each others videos! So awesome to see that kind of love and support in the community, especially between a few of my fav members of the community!
My levels of excitement for this whoop is insane. I'm on the preorder list. I'll be watching the mailbox until then 👀 😆 thanks for the sneak peek Nick!
I've been telling anyone who would listen that 75mm whoops are perfect for beginners or people looking for a fly anywhere quad that's durable, but until now there hasn't been a good BNF in that space that delivered on everything that size can do. The 1.5mm motor shafts solves once of the biggest problems people have at that size, and the 12a ESC will hopefully lead to more durability too. Thanks for the review as always.
Dont get too excited. These Mobula7's are cheap crap! I have been thru three of them so far and all three FC have gone out before 10 flights and one of them was DOA.
@@jeffames2880 I ordered one and it had problems out of the box. I haven't bothered getting another. With HappyModel it's usually best to wait for the second or third revision. I made an exception because I was excited about the product. That sucks you had so much trouble. I really wish there was a reliable ELRS whoop out there for people.
I was just going to build another 75mm Mobula , but then noticed the new Fc and the new motors/VTX , so had to order this one ! Luckily they are in stock already in the UK and shipping ( HobbyRC ).
That little stinker flies on par with my 2S Mobula 7, but with around 20g less weight. I'm really considering grabbing one alongside a bunch of 1S batteries.
Awesome! A few years ago I took my first Mob 6, stuck it in a 7 frame, and had what I thought was the best Flying whoop ever. I'd wondered why Happymodel never made a 1s Mob7, as it seemed to be a popular conversion. Sadly, i no longer have that drone, but have thought of replacing it from time to time. Now with the announcement of the HDzero 1s VTX, I've been thinking about building another, and then I see this! I think it's time for a new drone.
Yep! I have one version of the mob6-7 conversion. Heads from infinity loops swears by them (it's his go to build) and I was lucky enough to have him help me out with it! We took the moblite6 guts and motors and put it on the mobula7 v2 frame with a newbeedrone canopy and added the ELRS EP2 receiver. He named it the "Mobthicc" and it's still the most fun and best flying whoop I've had! He has a video that's dedicated to this build on the infinity loops page! Check it out, totally worth the few mins!
I did the same swap mob6 to mob7 frame, just updating to elrs so really I must have to purchase this one, almost cheaper than my own build. Just need new lipos.
A couple of things you can do for the loose-fitting batteries is to either wrap a rubber band around the pack a couple of times lengthwise to make them thicker, or heat up those bottom cross braces on the battery tray and push them in to deform them so they're concave.
I know this video is old, but the mob7 update is still getting better, first thing to do is swap from bi blades to HQ tri blades. The charging board comes with spots for bt2.0 connectors now that you solder on yourself, and i figured out that the tattu rline 500mah batteries will fit into this frame if you heat the battery holder part of the frame up with a heat gun (CAREFULLY) then stuff the battery in and let it cool, and seem by far the best battery option for this bird. Love this whoop! building 2.5-3" toothpicks on the PNP version of the FC(im on frsky so im stuffing xm and emax tiny d8s into the builds which perform light years better than frsky SPI) and they are turning out pretty awesome.
Hey thanks for sharing, which tri blades are you using please? Just received my mobula and i have to say i'm impressed with this little thing it handles like its on rails and has plenty of punch. I'm using 550Mah bonka lipos and they fit perfectly no need to heat up battery tray
@@tecnikturbo The HQ press ons. Thats good they fit, its not ideal to have to possibly melt/damage your frame, but its the only way i could get the tattu's to work.
I hope you’re not crazy, I came across this one at RDC so right away I came straight to my go to site for info on this whoop. I’m glad I did now I’m just waiting for the delivery of my Mobula7. Thanks again for all the great information you give us guys that are new to this sport. Have a great weekend Nick.
I am new to FPV but years of experience with large drones. Several questions: What are those ugly red lines? Interference? Is the video saved locally in the drone too without that ugly video noise? Any way to prevent that? Any whoop with better resolution? Thanks.
This is analog which is the lowest latency video link in fpv. I am not sure what the red lines are referred to. Analog break up looks much like old static on TVs. The video is not saved locally on this one, most modern micros don't have that ability, for a time manufacturers were making dual function cameras that did record on board video but the image quality was greatly reduced in the goggles and the fov was less. the video is only recorded on the goggle dvr now days.
I have it for about one month now and YES, is the best whoop I had. Its very durable( feels like indestructible) , a joy to fly and good price for what you get in specially the parallel charging board for 1s batteries.. Better then Emax whoops out there.
Hi Nick I am really very excited for the release of this new drone! On my moblite7 I have already mounted an elrs ep2 receiver so I don't know if I should buy this last version. However, for small batteries, I solved the problem by using small bands. You can use them both all around the canopy and either just put them on the lipo to add grip and thickness.
Nice whoop and nice review, Nick. In my experience, my Rapidfire module always results in an overall washed out and muddier picture, no matter what camera I’m using. My much older True-D module has a much sharper/higher contrast picture quality, but I stick with Rapidfire because it has better reception in most situations. Still rocking the old HDO goggles btw.
Just ordered from rdq this morning. This might be one that is hard to get soon. Till then I will keep enjoying my beta 65 pro.... the 65 pro is amazing in my small space
I grabbed a mobula7 and radiomaster zorro because Nick made them sound so great, I had fun today getting the controller and whoop configured. Very nice lil drone, crashed it a few times, but really out of the box its great. My dog doesnt like it in the house but the cats dont mind at all for some reason. Crazy good range and penetration from the vtx, I flew through 3 levels of my house with no noticeable video breakup, and thats with the cheap-o AKK diversity module adapted to dji goggles, its working great! Thanks Nick, always enjoy your videos and presentation of your opinions on these machines.
Hi Nick, Nice you appreciate the V4 frame, I do my best for them to make logical ducts design this type, I'm just sad they didn't rotate the motor mount 60 degres as I asked, and also they make the battery tray this low (unfortunately only way to fit all their different connector layout). Bigger battery fit, 450 530 cells are the widest of the 1S. I doesn't agreed on cam being better lately... nothing new since Ant and pico razer, and nano 3 is clearly worst than what it's been. And be warned builder, Runcan will remove the mounting holes so no way to mount it on mobula 6 canopy (Happymodel will still provide cam with holes 🤔) Caddx beetle and akk k19c weren't bad at all 3 years back. And like you said great setup but nothing new beside range compared to 2 to 3 years old setup... and 3 years asking to happymodel to release one 😢 See ya !
Nice ideas for improvements. Its not just ELRS thats new tough. Okay you could take an "older moblite7 and add an elrs receiver only adding 0.5g more. Its the 12A ESC"s that are a big step forward and UFL antenna plugs and more Power output on the VTX. Only time and testing will tell if it holds up but these are many improvements
@@chrisbee5481 Yes, ELRS, UFL, 12A... 1.5mm shaft but still brass bushing... And 24g with one of the most terrible whoop cam ever produced... ridiculous/cheap choice on a whoop with ELRS and 400mw. Yes you can change it, and pass the 25g limit, and what happen when you pass this limit on a 75mm whoop ? washout are back !!! yes triblade can improve that, but it's now 26g, have lost tons on power, agility and flight time... 👌 Once again this is what you can do since 2019 : th-cam.com/video/DUcHWxbaqvU/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for this great review! I ordered it as soon as you asked for "questions, suggestions, otherwise". Today it arrived! The frame is very promising with the thicker supports orientated vertical instead of horizontal. The new motors with 20000 KV as well! The whole whoop is a blast! You were NOT exaggerating! The only points about the whoop that could be improved out of my pov: Secure the antenna: why no manufacturer does it? Other battery connector (personally I am on BT2.0 for 1s) Finally a comment to the 1.5mm motor shaft. I really like it and already have it on most of my whoops. But the choice was very limited! The only once I could get are the URUAV branded EX0802 with 19000KV (spares or used on the UZ80). Really nice that there is now another and even higher KV choice! P.S.: Nick Burns 🔥 = best drone channel
HAPPY to finally see a MODEL having an FC with vtx and ELRS built-in. SAD that it's not available for purchase today. DREAMING that one day soon an HDZero version be on the horizon, until then CHEERS, Nick, and thanks for your time.😉
Dang it! I guess I’m gonna have to beak down and sign up for one of these. When Mr.Burns gets this excited about a Whoop, It’s time for me to get an updated whoop. Honestly, that’s some of the best “Analog Video” I’ve seen on most any quad.Awesome Piloting and Video production Mr.Burns, thank you for all you do. I hope You and Your family are well.
Yes! They finally built what we've have to piecemeal together for the last couple years with some nice touches. I bought the mob6 elrs just to swap the board to a mob7 frame with OG mob6 19,000kv motors (Still have no use for those 27,000kv.) The highlights that would make me consider buying a couple of these are 1; motors that now have the solder pads and a more robust shaft 2; more mw of video power; 3; a littler more headroom on the esc and 4; halleluiah I want that charging board. I know I could get a similar charging board elsewhere but it would probably cost at least $15 alone. That's a nice touch. For how many QC complaints seem to plaque Happy Model, you gotta give it to them for slowly but surely listening to their customers wants and constantly innovating and improving. Almost every HM quad that was awesome, I bought 2 of them and then more parts to modify or keep them airworthy. Exciting times we're living in. Except for the chip shortage and delivery chain disruption.
I also wonder about the QC complaints vs no QC complaints. Their products have been very popular, some use their parts over and over, someone else uses one part, it dies and its the worst company in fpv. Bad news makes new good news doesn't. I think their are improvements they can make but I am not sure they are willing or have the resources.
@@NickBurnsFPV Yeah it's hard to know if QC is actually much worse than other brands because they're one of the biggest and make huge amounts of their products seemingly overnight. It appears they come out with a new product new name sometimes instead of fixing a problem but they do seem to learn from mistakes and they definitely keep innovating in small increments. I'm a fan for the most part. Except for their lipos. That's where I draw the line.
@@pdub3rd yea, I don't bother flying the lipos anymore. The are the bottom of the barrel, just for those that don't know what a good battery is, which is sad in itself. :)
Oh man bought this thing just for the board haha. Wouldn't mind the extra cam either but can't wait to put this in my 1s monster. 40mph top speed, 3-10min flight time landing at 3.7v already, so saving more weight coming from r-xsr and separate vtx should be nice.
I have the ELRS version. It's fun but the FC seems dodgy. I have to plug/unplug the battery multiple times to get the VTX to work. BTW: I fly with HV GNB 530 mah ( GNB27 ) and they fit fine and fly great. I changed the PH2.0 to the GNB connector.
@@NickBurnsFPV Sometimes the tones chime and no video. Sometimes no esc tone but quad will still arm and motors turn. Unplug, replug, do the dance of hope and just maybe video will happen when you next plug in the battery. No rhyme or reason I can find.
@@TakeItToTheGround Do you ever plug in and no lights on the FC? I am wondering if the connector isn't making sufficient contact. I have had a few gnb27 connectors that didn't always power on an FC, I had to swap the connector to solve. it.
@@NickBurnsFPV Connector not the issue as 1/ It did the same think with the PH2.0 2/ Lights come on and sometimes motors can be started but no vtx. Thanks for the replies. I suspect I have an FC on the cusp of total failure seesoring between the two.
@Nick Burns It might be a long shot but check how many USB devices your PC has saved. I've had the same type of USB issue that you discussed and it took a little digging but Windows had reached the max amount of USB devices it could remember. I went through and removed the ones I no longer used and it fixed the problem.
This is similar to what I flew for most of IGOW, a moblite7 with a mobula canopy, but with some welcome upgrades. I am very excited about this one. I'm on the preorder list, thanks Nick!
Nice! ... bi-blade & elrs seems to be a good tren for whoops now. I saw consistent flight without washout in your flight nick. I guess this is the best bnf M7, great stock tune out of the box!
@@NickBurnsFPV True, I have seen them called that as well, but parallel chargers bring with them risk, and mistaking a serial charger for a parallel charger just increases that. (won't somebody think of the CHILDREN, lol)
Agree whole heartedly, these things are the most fun! This is almost the same as the my daily winter drivers, but that new board looks abso-frickin-amazing. For indoor flight I have one with the new-ish HQ 40mm tri-blades for a little extra grip in tight spaces, if you have any of those props I’d be curious if you might like them a ton too. You would lose a very small bit of prop control so I would bet bi-blades on it would still be the go to for outdoor flying.
@@NickBurnsFPV I noticed one of my bi-blades was not sitting tight on the shaft, thats why it felt sloppy in turns and it was getting worse on that whoop. Fixed that issue (scuffed the shaft up just a touch with sandpaper since none of the HQ bi-blades would fit snugly on that one motor for some odd reason. Anywho, with all that sorted I now actully prefer them over the tri-blades even inside. Figured I should mention it since I had recommended you try the tri-blades. Now I wouldn't!
@@seewell8168 I have seen a variance in motor shafts over the years. Even 1mm shafts. It stink cause it throws off the quad flight and makes us wonder what the heck is going on.
Love it!!!! Already ordered!!!I am most excited about the new aio 12amp board!! Makes it much morel versatile for other builds!! And 400mw vtx!! Sold! Awesome video as always!
Hi, what do you think about a 65mm toothpick style quad with 40mm props? I designed, 3d printed and built a drone like that and it flies amazing, it just has a bit of wash out when recovering from dives, but i can't explain why it flies much better than the frame i had before, which was a TKS 75. It might be the weight (4g vs 2.4g) what do you think it is? Thank you 👍
Motor plugs again! Nice. I just hope the heat from that 400mW vtx doesn't damage any FCs... but they seemed to have that worked out on the 200mW Moblite FC.
I wouldn't think heat would be an issue, at least if we get to flying within a reasonable time. I still wouldn't want to leave it plugged in for 20minutes with no air flow on the desk.
I love the way you fly indoors Nick, it's what finally convinced me to take off the trainer wheels from angle mode and try to get better at air mode in a confined area (I used to only do it outdoors with plenty of space). It's been a bit painful because I don't like crashing, however I've just come to terms with that being a normal thing, and I gotta tell you, you showing your crash reel does make me feel a heck of a lot better about my own. Fortunately haven't had any damage I've not been able to repair thus far, however given what I've seen from this video, I have a new target for a replacement whoop if it does come to that. Kinda bummed about that power connector, however I think I'll try and convert it to GNB27. Thanks for the great preview. I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival now.
yep, I crash a lot when I am reviewing a new product. I want to push it to see what sort of performance it has and thus I crash....often. When I fly casually before bed time or otherwise I fly at a more comfortable speed and my crash frequency comes down.
Just got mine today and ohh man does it rip. wasn't quite ready for that, thought it was going to be like the 6. yeehaw... Was wondering what Battery you are recommending for this guy, I had some "Alien" 650 15g ph2 batteries. worked great got 4 min flight time. But yeah... I might just get another as a backup, So Much nicer than my old Meteor 75, I liked those enough to buy 3 of them.
Good to know your enjoying it. I like the flying weight of the 450...the xilo batteries I show in the video are new and get me good performance and flight time.
I think your logic might be off, Mr.Burns. If the Skyzone goes down first, that means the Skyzone is closer to real-time, not further behind. The first one to go out is the one that is in better sync. The Orqa is just so far behind they don't even realize there even was a failure until a few milliseconds later.
You can't determine which DVR is off only by which one cuts out first in a crash, one may have missed frames making the recording shorter (which is the most likely), or the other one could have inserted duplicate frames. But he says twice in the video that he compares the DVR to audio from a different camera, and the Skyzone DVR cuts out BEFORE the audio registers the crash. So since the Orqa DVR agrees with the separate audio stream and the Skyzone doesn't, the Skyzone must be dropping frames.
Good release. Glad to finally see this with a flight controller, vtx and ELRS built-in. Personally, I have enough analog whoops so I probably won't pick this particular version up and will sit tight for an HDZero version. Hopefully the final weight for the 1s vtx + camera setup won't affect it too badly.
Im having battery issues the standard 250mah lasts about 40 seconds and a 450mah lasts 1:30 max straight out of the box the 450 mah are 4.2v not the high voltage all new batteries maybe 5 charges
Try cnhl 1s 450mah batteries - standard voltage (not high voltage). In my experience, they are soooo much better than the gnbs. My almost 2 year old cnhl 1s lipos give equal or better performance than a new gnb 1s HV I bought for testing, and the cnhls are only about a gram heavier. They give longer flight times and much less sag. They also take a ton of abuse, don't even puff up after going down to 2.8v multiple times and still fly and perform perfect. Awesome batteries!
I dont know if it's justified if you already have a new Mobula 6. I actually found that replacing the old camera and old motors on the new Mobula 6 is a very good option. I dont like the new RC3's as you pointed out and I didnt like the new smaller motors on the M6. I found you need a lot more throttle response for stable flight. But I do like my new/old M6. As always another great vid. Regarding the battery slippage you could put a piece of scotch tape around the battery to make it tighter. If that's too loose you could try a small piece of electrical tape which will be a little thicker.
Nick im trying to buy the iflight Nazgul 83 mm pro you did a video last week and i cannot find it so i can enter ypur code so you can get paid??? I need the best packs to buy also.
hey Mr Burns, i live in China and there, Getfpv, amazon,... doesn t ship overthere. my only option is taobao. I do have almost everything even cheaper. Now, the problem is that they can send me the mobula 7 with 4*660 GNB batteries but in your video, you do not recommend at all or it will change the tune right? maybe they changed the tune for those specific batteries ? or should i buy it alone and with 4*450 xilo separated batteries? thank you so much for your help! keep it up man !
You mentioned in one of your videos that you change the orientation of the batteries to sit crosswise. Does the flight controller need to be re-orientated after doing this? The motors would plug in in different places on the board. Does that make any difference. I enjoy your videos. Thanks
I've been using the original mob 6 AIO on my 75mm build since launch, it's been flown to death over 3 frames (mob 7 V2) and a couple sets of motors with qaud blade props and it still hasn't popped 🤷♂️ 12a seems excessive? Otherwise this combination is pretty solid.
I literally just converted my mob6 to mob7 with 40mm bi-blade gemfan 1610 props, within about 30 seconds of flight I was getting temperature high errors in betaflight, amp draw the entire flight was at 4-5a constantly. Clearly the 5a FC of the mob6 just isn't up to the job.
I miss my moblite7 days. That one was fantastic, quiet and would fly super long even with the oldest batteries, but one ESC fried after some weeks of rippin'. Then I bought a second one and it happened again after 3 days of intensive flying. Sometimes it feels like being scammed. Then I just got this Mobula7-1S quad thanks to your recommendation and because of better the ESCs. Oddly enought I find it underpowered, noisy and neither 450mah nor 650mah batteries won't last longer than 2 minutes in my case (just cruising). I also experienced quite more voltage sag comprared to yours (it goes from 4.1V to 3.5V a few seconds after taking off). Then I flashed the ESCs to Bluejay, but the motors won't spin when I have RPM Filter activated. Why is that? Thank you Nick for all that amazing content about our micro hobby.
Did the mobula7 1s always have the short flight times? the ph2.0 connector can wear down, sometimes they wear down fast other times it takes awhile. Might need to replace the ph2.0 connector on the quad. try to get a solid pin connector like the ones sold at tinywhoop.com What happens if you disable rpm filtering? Is air mode on? Can you spin the motors while plugged into betaflight with the motors page of the betaflight configurator?
@@NickBurnsFPV Hi Nick! Thanks a lot for your response. Yes, the flight times were always short, it's a new unit (from just 3 days ago). Sure, I'll try to change the PH2 connector and see if the voltage sag improves. As a last resort I also thought on soldering the motor wires just like in the moblite. When Rpm Filtering is enabled the motors won't spin even from the Motors tab from Betaflight. Air Mode was ON, as per default. BTW I'm very impressed by the vtx performace on 100mw.
@@miquelmarti6537 Its odd that a new quad would have a poor performing ph2.0, but possible I suppose. With the motors not rotating, is the motor protocol set to dshot300? If not set it to dshot300.
@@NickBurnsFPV Yes, it was on dshot300. I later tried to reflash BlueJay firmware (Z H 30 48 v16) and deactivating RPMFilter. When I tested the motors on the betaflight tab....two ESC died.
Thanks for the review. Always looking for good 1s whoops. For your USB issue have you tried to delete your whole USB hub in "device manager"? Then just scan for changes and it will reinstall the drivers. Imess with a lot of development boards and install a lot of board communication drivers and have to do this sometimes. Also, make sure windows has all patches installed through Windows update
Oh man I hope those canopies are available separately. I'd replace my mob6 and mob 6 75mm mod canopies in a heartbeat! Out of curiosity how did the weight of this compare to the mob 6 75mm mod? I recently just bought another mob 6 25kv to swap out my motors on my 75mm from 19k to 25k and vise versa on the 65mm. I flew 25k on the 65mm just to see how it was and it was alright. Only downside for me was flight time. But I loved the power. I was getting 2:30 flight times before 48khz and then 3:30 after (hard freestyling in my house). Wild how big of a difference that was. As much as I like my 75mm whoop, for some reason this 65mm form factor just screams at me to fly it indoors.
Hi nick, im upgrading my sky03o. To sky04x for the 60fpv svr and better screen. Yes the dvr from sky04x sitll losing frames abit.. but i notice its very minimal.. like in your dvr comparison.. in 3mins flight, it still under 1sec of missing frames if im not mistaken. And thats still very good. But yeah if you dont wNt to lose any frames just use orcas or powerplay.
Wow this little fella kick some serious tail!!!! Had buyers remorse because I didn't see the V2 1 or 2s... No need I can barely get this guy from ripping!!! Makes my Tinyhwak freestyle 2 feel like a model T compared to this guy!!! Great whoop it's my first and second quad. So many to choose from like neck ties lol!!!
You mention the frame is the first use for a bind'n'fly, but I think this is the same frame in the moblite7 as well? On the frame skipping, I have similar issues with my Skyzone Cobra X. When I was doing IGOW3 I had weeks which I had to re-record before submitting as when I looked back at the footage it looked like i had spliced videos together due to the dropped frames. I love the fact it comes with a series charging board personally. I would be interested to know how the wind handling compares to the Mobula7. I adored my Mobula7 as on 2S it just never yaw washed out (At least on the V2 frame, the v3 was horrid) and would happily fly in 20+mph. My moblite7 on the other hand was awful the second wind touched it (brilliant indoors though). From what I see here this seems somewhere between the two? Or it is likely to be closer to the Mobula7 on wind handling? If so, I'm awfully temped....
It could be they switch to the v4 frame on the moblite7, but the two I have do not use the v4 frame. Its hard for me to offer more than an estimation on the wind handling, as my 2s mobulas haven't gone outside in a long while. I would have to believe its somewhere right in the middle as its still only 30grams with battery. It might slightly slide more towards the mobula7 2s, but it wouldn't equal it, just due to weight and the power of the second cell
I have myself been ordering more off aliexpress rather than banggood. I wonder if they just accept order regardless of stock, and have trouble getting stock. I bet they have to compete for stock now that more of our drone companies are known entities to our fpv shops and are getting more stock to them. My suspension anyways
Nick, How is this Mobula 7 compared to the new Tiny Hawk 3 overall? And are the Antennas direct soldered or do they use a UFL clip connector? 🙏 my Friend!
ufl is standard for happymodel on the vtx. Unfortunately I don't especially recall the TH3, my suspicion is if the TH3 is 1s the mobula is far more agile and performanced based.
Ooo. Yeah that looks fun. Wondering about the dvr samples, looks like the orqa is definitely lower contrast, wondering if thats a large part of why the skyzone loons sharper? Also wondering if theres some sharpening applied in the encoding of the video? Would be interested to know what the difference is.
Yep! Mine is coming from Hobbyrc, hopefully tomorrow. I was looking to diy a whoop, but this is pretty much what I was looking to build anyway... Happy days
Timing on this could have been better, by the time it gets in ill be flying outdoors but maybe perfect for next winter. This might get me back into 1s, btw the charging board is actually a series and this to me is a huge bonus as making my own is a prerequisite for me to go 1s. Not being able to storage charge my 1s is the reason I went 2s and haven't gone back yet. Cheap batteries but tired of killing them. Definitely and interesting one and if we had whoop racing this year id go for it
depends on where you live. I am getting notice some have theirs already and others with shipping tracking information. Racedayquads.com has stock or should I say did have stock when I last checked earlier today.
I'm not sure if it would make sense (be possible) for a 1s parallel board to use a balance plug. Is it possible that the board actually connects the batteries in series like a 4s battery. It's an important difference because if so, you should charge with 1/4 the current. I could be wrong though, please set me straight.
Is there an internal Mic on the VTX of this drone or are you recording the sound around you? Looks awesome, i just ordered one. Going to be my first whoop or basically anything smaller than 4/5" fpv drone. So i'm excited to fly it already once it gets here. What brand and size batteries do you recommend running? Do you use 1S or 1S-HV? The stock battery lead connector is PH2.0? I see the 1S batteries are all over the place with reviews, especially about them not lasting too long after a few charge cycles. I ordered the ELRS version and i got a HappyModel ELRS JR module for my Q X7 because all I currently use is that and my TBS Tango 2 which has the built-in crossfire.. Eventually i will mod the Tango2 to add 1W internal ELRS, as well as add the external module bay on the back, that way i can even use it for almost everything. Or i will pick up a new Radiomaster Boxer ELRS 1W internal and call it a day lol.. I also like the Zorro, i like the smaller TX's, but i just wish they would update it with the 1W ELRS module internal like the Boxer and the new Pocket is 1W too i believe..
Sorry to bother! But if I am going to add a run an thumb pro v2 to this then what motors should I swap into this puppy to help it take on the extra weight a little better??😎 Also, same question but for the 1-2s version (non hd) as well. As I will fly it on both of them! Thanks!

@@NickBurnsFPV sorry, more about how people like it and see how it plays out. Funny how some quad names last in the limelight for awhile and others just fade away No money right now! Need to fix all my broken summer stuff or i would probably get it myself!
Top notch review Nick! Maybe it's just me, but it appears to my eye that Rapidfire has a softer image than some other modules. I have a TBS Fusion so I don't have personal experience though. Point being, maybe it's not the Orca DVR, but actually the VRX module thats giving the softer look? Might be interesting to compare the RF VRX in the 04X's. Maybe even try the Skyzone VRX in the Orca's!? (if it fits)
Struggling with this little one today! Finally got it delivered - didn't relize ERLS2.0 doesn't go with my old flash of 1.0 and the 10 other drones that are setup on 1.0 with EP's and etc. :( Don't want to flash the update so i added an EP1 Rx with my v1 firmware --- all rx'd up and boom -- NO VTX !?! Its odd i tried to go over to IRC TRAMP and it suggested "VTX READY=YES" in BF but then no power from on board VTX. I swapped back to Smart Audio (I hate smart audio btw, thus trying to use TRAMP) and #smart audio'd in CLI and on Ports and have "VTX READY = YES" but then I power up and still no on board VTX power. There's zero signal. Any clue ss this board like the old Mobulas where I have to solder two pads together to get the internal VTX powering up ?? Thanks Nick and am inspired by ALL your vids!
I figured it out! Some weird VTX tables out the gates on this on -- 0 Power setting in #1 table slot I don't think it was broadcasting any VTX signal at all on that setting. I changed to match 25/100/200/400 and boom there it was - Video :):):)
I am using the manufactures stock tune on all the review quads. TH-cam doesn't allow enough characters to send in comments. I suggest getting the betaflight dump from the happymodel.cn website.

I'm kind of curious why almost everything on aliexpress has gotten more expensive compared to banggood
@@___echo___ yea, it used to be cheaper. I don't know why the change.
Hi Nick, are these new motors still bushings or do they have ball bearings?
@@Therberg2500 Still bushings

Hey bro I'm from Guyana in south America can you help me get a drone
My levels of excitement for this whoop is insane. I'm on the preorder list. I'll be watching the mailbox until then 👀
😆 thanks for the sneak peek Nick!
Where did you pre-order from?
@@NickBurnsFPV MakerFire
I'm in your shoes.
BTW I know one Nick who has two of them. just saying
@@InfinityLoops it’s open for order on RDQ. Mine has already shipped!
So it only took them 2 years to take my advice? 👌😂
@@NickBurnsFPV haha! Yep!
Nice. Good current feedback. Thank you
Hey thanks for sharing, which tri blades are you using please?

Good to hear followup experiences. Thank you for coming back to leave that information for others.
Hi Nick,
Nice you appreciate the V4 frame, I do my best for them to make logical ducts design this type, I'm just sad they didn't rotate the motor mount 60 degres as I asked, and also they make the battery tray this low (unfortunately only way to fit all their different connector layout).
Bigger battery fit, 450 530 cells are the widest of the 1S.
I doesn't agreed on cam being better lately... nothing new since Ant and pico razer, and nano 3 is clearly worst than what it's been. And be warned builder, Runcan will remove the mounting holes so no way to mount it on mobula 6 canopy (Happymodel will still provide cam with holes 🤔)
Caddx beetle and akk k19c weren't bad at all 3 years back.
And like you said great setup but nothing new beside range compared to 2 to 3 years old setup... and 3 years asking to happymodel to release one 😢
See ya !
🤔
@@chrisbee5481 Yes, ELRS, UFL, 12A... 1.5mm shaft but still brass bushing...
And 24g with one of the most terrible whoop cam ever produced... ridiculous/cheap choice on a whoop with ELRS and 400mw.
Yes you can change it, and pass the 25g limit, and what happen when you pass this limit on a 75mm whoop ? washout are back !!! yes triblade can improve that, but it's now 26g, have lost tons on power, agility and flight time... 👌

The only points about the whoop that could be improved out of my pov:
Secure the antenna: why no manufacturer does it?
Other battery connector (personally I am on BT2.0 for 1s)
Finally a comment to the 1.5mm motor shaft.
You think the gnb 1s 450mah 80c/160c Lipo will work good with this drone?? Looking for some extra batts with a little more punch!

Thank you. My apologies to your wallet :)
I think my next whoop may be HDZero. I'd like to see how that will work on this guy, so looking forward to that video.
I love my Mobula 7 so much that I rebuilt it with 0802.5 motors when a motor smoked!
I put some 1102 10,000kv motors on mine. It's a beast!
I changed the PH2.0 to the GNB connector.
so you hear the esc activate tones and no video?
@@TakeItToTheGround yea, you have made the troubleshooting rounds, sadly just and aio that isn't working right.
That board which it comes with is a nice thing to get so you can charge your 1s batterys on a good charger.
@Nick Burns It might be a long shot but check how many USB devices your PC has saved. I've had the same type of USB issue that you discussed and it took a little digging but Windows had reached the max amount of USB devices it could remember. I went through and removed the ones I no longer used and it fixed the problem.
I am pretty sure I did remove all usb devices. I think the app usbobilvion did that as well.

I put my Mob6 HD components into a Mob7 frame and props last year and thought it flew much better but still a little slow due to the HD weight.
3:50 That is actually a series charging board I believe.
yes, they technically are, but most often referred to as parallel.
@@NickBurnsFPV True, I have seen them called that as well, but parallel chargers bring with them risk, and mistaking a serial charger for a parallel charger just increases that. (won't somebody think of the CHILDREN, lol)
Mine is out for delivery tomorrow along with some Tmotor 0802 25kv 😉 Great video as always Nick, so good infact I've ordered a second one 😉
I just might have some of those props. I need to hunt through my micro props. My organization needs work :)

Been trying to find this quad for a month… Hate ordering from bang good when are the US retailers going to get this bad boy in stock??
I don't have any information on that. I would email your favorite fpv shop and see if they will provide an update.
When I fly casually before bed time or otherwise I fly at a more comfortable speed and my crash frequency comes down.
the intro flight looks pretty much as locked in as it gets ... nice!!!
That is flying great for a 1s whoop!
Got my elrs one on order from banggood, super excited
Just got mine today and ohh man does it rip.
wasn't quite ready for that, thought it was going to be like the 6.
yeehaw...
Was wondering what Battery you are recommending for this guy,
I had some "Alien" 650 15g ph2 batteries. worked great got 4 min flight time.
But yeah... I might just get another as a backup,
So Much nicer than my old Meteor 75, I liked those enough to buy 3 of them.
Good to know your enjoying it. I like the flying weight of the 450...the xilo batteries I show in the video are new and get me good performance and flight time.
Can put a rubber band (little brown one, or a hair band) and keep those loose batteries in place.
Sure. I guess my desire to have native snug fitting batteries makes me cover those items differently than I potentially should 😉
I think your logic might be off, Mr.Burns.
Great info as always nick. Sweet flying too. Tight turns to say the least. Lol jelly on them. Haha
Can I fly this drone with a controller from FrSky? Or is the zorro the best choice for it?
It largely depends on the radio firmware, frsky got rid of d8 mode which nearly all micros with frsky need.
Been waiting on this one looked good on paper 👍 thanks nick
Im having battery issues the standard 250mah lasts about 40 seconds and a 450mah lasts 1:30 max straight out of the box the 450 mah are 4.2v not the high voltage all new batteries maybe 5 charges
What brand of battery?
Try cnhl 1s 450mah batteries - standard voltage (not high voltage). In my experience, they are soooo much better than the gnbs. My almost 2 year old cnhl 1s lipos give equal or better performance than a new gnb 1s HV I bought for testing, and the cnhls are only about a gram heavier. They give longer flight times and much less sag. They also take a ton of abuse, don't even puff up after going down to 2.8v multiple times and still fly and perform perfect. Awesome batteries!
greaat video nixk AS always!!!! Stay blessed brother and thank you for everything you do...Keep on Keepin on
Fantastic flying, Nick! Great review!!! 😃
Pretty fun little quad! I loved it!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
LOL you're plenty fast to me. :D I can't fly that fast in the house, too many obstacles!

oh come on. Now you gotta get one and prove me wrong :)
I converted a mob6 to a mob7 frame and it flies way better, now it’s a bnf. Might have to try some biblades as mines on quad blades
Yea tinker with the props to find what you like best
hey Mr Burns, i live in China and there, Getfpv, amazon,... doesn t ship overthere. my only option is taobao.
For fast agile flight the 660 will be somewhat heavy imho. I would go 450
You mentioned in one of your videos that you change the orientation of the batteries to sit crosswise. Does the flight controller need to be re-orientated after doing this? The motors would plug in in different places on the board. Does that make any difference. I enjoy your videos. Thanks
no flight controller change needed to set the battery sideways.
Thanks@@NickBurnsFPV
I've been using the original mob 6 AIO on my 75mm build since launch, it's been flown to death over 3 frames (mob 7 V2) and a couple sets of motors with qaud blade props and it still hasn't popped 🤷♂️ 12a seems excessive? Otherwise this combination is pretty solid.
You might want to knock on wood. So many report loosing an esc on AIO boards.
@@miquelmarti6537 oh no. did you see smoke? How did you confirm the escs are dead? Hoping the motors just aren't spinning.
Hi Nick I can't believe that it's a 1s differently looks faster than the mobula 6. Thanks again for the video and information
Nick, have you updated the receiver to elrs v3? Just purchased a Happymodel module for my T-lite and elrs 3.0 is out on the configurator.
I have not updated.
As much as I like my 75mm whoop, for some reason this 65mm form factor just screams at me to fly it indoors.
mine that is closely comparable is 23.55grams. With older 0802 motors, older canopy and azi tri blade motors. Oh and the v2 frame.
Looks like a fantastic toothpick board too, probably going to be great for those 18650 1S builds.
It might be. Myself am not much for the 18650 quads, they don't fit my flight fun all that well.
Just ordered the crossfire version, hopefully it’s as good as the elrs one!
I believe it will weight about 2 grams more as the rx is external.
Looks good! I have had to cancel my last few Bangers orders. They always ship after US vendors.
Unfortunately we need someone that has worked with such components to shed some light on how these work and why they are different.
I've managed to get one on next day delivery in the UK. I'm so, so excited!
oh wow. Where did you order from?
@@NickBurnsFPV probably Hobbyrc.
Yep! Mine is coming from Hobbyrc, hopefully tomorrow.
I was looking to diy a whoop, but this is pretty much what I was looking to build anyway... Happy days
@@DeEpThOrT same here. I'm hoping I can put a GPS on it as well. I missed the delivery driver so got to wait another day. 😭
The board does make the batteries appear as 1 4s battery, balance charging is important in this setup.
Nice flying!
Sound comes from secondary camera and blend in through post flight edit
Just ordered mine to rip mu yard and practice. Sim just doesn't do it for me anymore
I hear often that the more powerful the computer the better the sims “feel” but I would rather really fly myself 💯👌
Hi, Nick, if you could have One Whoop would you Choose Mobula 6 or Mobula 7 Analog version?🙏
For me between those two the mob7
Sorry to bother! But if I am going to add a run an thumb pro v2 to this then what motors should I swap into this puppy to help it take on the extra weight a little better??😎
Also, same question but for the 1-2s version (non hd) as well. As I will fly it on both of them! Thanks!
If you change to larger motors you will have to retune the pids? Are you prepared for that?
It flies great!!! I just wish I had bought 2. Can't find them anywhere.
yes, many things are out of stock and long delays in manufacturing.
0802 and 1.5mm shaft? That my dream since 2018.... And its really come true.... Thanks for the video NB.... Really nice 👍👍👍
Does anyone know how much mah is in his batteries? Does 550 1s batteries work?
How do I unlock my happy model ovx303? Can’t get out of pitmode
I know I am a bit late, but try deactivating/unistallung antivirus software to check if your USB mass storage issue is resolved.
I found it was karpersky antivirus causing the issue 🤷🏻♂️🤦♂️
@@NickBurnsFPV should have watched the video earlier🤪
@@nuhbiwan lol
Hello! Very nice video! Could you please tell me which PIDs and Rates you are using. Because my default mobula looks like a turtle.
I am using the pids provided on the quad by happymodel. They provide them via cli dump on their website at happymodel.cn my rates are linked th-cam.com/video/llpHcWQx8q8/w-d-xo.html
Looks great, look forward to see how it goes!
How it goes? As in when you fly it?
(if it fits)
maybe this spring when I can hang outside more and we have more colors.
Great review of impressive little ripper. At a good size that can easily be flown indoors or out. 👍😎
Thank you, I enjoy it, has been my pre bed habit
Hi nick
Im not sure if you have done a video on the beta flight meteor 75 pro elrs.
If you have flown it how would you compare them both plz.
I have its here th-cam.com/video/OF5t2QvYePA/w-d-xo.html this is better. As in the video "the best 1s whoop I have flown" :)
Hey Nick, would you please let me get your tune on this bad boy. Mine has pretty bad prop wash. Thanks a million
I am using the manufactures stock tune on all the review quads. TH-cam doesn't allow enough characters to send in comments. I suggest getting the betaflight dump from the happymodel.cn website.
