  • Tinyhawk 2 vs the Mobula 6 with actual data! My times were captured with the Delta5 FPV race timer created by Scott Chin. My results are comping both quads tuned the way i like them to fly. This is about as apples to apples of a completion i could come up with and your results may vary.

Also your modes should be on a 3 position switch so rate profile 1 is using pid profile 1 rate profile 2 with pid 2 and rate 3 with pid 3. drive.google.com/open?id=1IWK...

    What a fantastic review. I was so impressed with this quad I bought two of them. It is so precise in its flying you can go through the smallest gaps with laser guided precision. I have other quads and have not flown any of them since it has arrived. Yes it's heavier but WOW does it fly well!!! Been flying mine on the GNB 520 packs. Cruising time with a full hv charge is nearly 5 minutes. Love the channel. I will join as a patreon soon!

    THANKS FOR THE REAL TIME TRIAL!!!! It makes sense with a smaller camera it would seem faster to the eye but I just couldn't figure EMAX would make a slower drone with less performance than its predecessor. But all the other reviews say it is slow and lacks quick response. THANKS I SUBSCRIBED because you really timed it and gave TRUE performance. YOU ROCK!!

    TweetFPV I've noticed a lot of folks say the TinyHawk is unflyable on 2s... Try this. On you transmitter, set on of the pots up so it divides the throttle position by a certain percentage. I've done this, and when I swap to 2s, I simply twist the knob all the way and 100% stick is not the equivalent of the old 50% stick. Makes it SO much more fun.

    I totally agree with the build quality of the Mobula 6! Mine is about to be the most expensive mobula 6. I literally got it yesterday. On the 3rd flight, I hit the wall in my house and the freakin camera popped off and now i can't get it to focus for anything....And the so called durable frame is not so durable. I broke 2 of the front struts. So I already have a $21 runcam nano 3 coming in (actually ordered 2 because they are so fragile) so $42 and I bought a set of Betafpv 65mm frames on Amazon for $9. They actually seem much more durable than the mobula 6.
    My conclusion. 1) I'm not a great indoor drone flyer if I can break this so called durable drone in 3 flights. 2) Some Reviewers are not being 100 percent up front with the quality control issues of this drone. Thank you for your honest review! looks like I will be picking up the Tinyhawk 2 as well.

  • @djs134
    @djs134 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    To bad they didn’t use the nano 3 for weight savings. That way you’d get similar performance to the s. Wow I commented before I finished the video. I’m surprised the 2 was faster. Maybe the 2 with a nano 3 to get that fast feel. I mean I get 4:20 of racing on my s, and I thought the 2 only gets like 2:30 to 3 min. What type of flight times are u getting in the 2? I did the 48khz and pmb on my s and it’s so locked in its amazing.

  • @CX2Pilot
    @CX2Pilot 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I just got the TinyHawk 2. It is a great drone! Very stable, smooth, quiet and has good power. I used your Mockingbird settings and they are great! Super responsive and locked in. I also installed the JESC 48khz firmware. I am getting 4 minutes flight time on the 1S 450mAH battery and over 5 minutes with a 1S 525 mAH battery. I haven't tries 2S yet.
    Thanks for posting your custom Mockingbird settings. The stock settings are good, especially for beginners, but the Mockingbird settings turned it into a super responsive drone!
    One thing I want to point out. Emax has gone back to the motor plugs, the motors are no longer direct soldered to the FC board. Even the Emax video now shows motor plugs.
    Mine has motor plugs. I see your video and other reviewers has soldered motor connections. They must be from the first batches of the TH2, then later on in the year sometime they changed to motor plugs in the newer batches.

      HII and thank you for share your experience. ASK you how strong is, how strong are the props. HOW fly outside.
      For me the most important is to be strong.

    • @TweetFPV
      @TweetFPV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The mobula 6 with the 25,000kv Motors would be my choice for flying outside. The frame will break easily. Replace it with the Meteor 6 frame from betafpv. Neither of these small Quad will work well outside it there is any wind, they are too small, light, and low power to handle much wind.

    • @CX2Pilot
      @CX2Pilot 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stelic9515 Hi, the TinyHawk 2 is very durable. Check out the reviews here on TH-cam and on the forums like Rcgroups. I don't know how strong the props are yet but I hit my fence pretty hard and no frame or prop damage, not even a scratch or scuff mark on the frame! I was flying outside in strong wind and got blown into the fence flying FPV with my googles.
      TweetFPV is correct, These small quads get blown around in wind, too small and light.
      I had the Mobula7 for years. I did not like it and threw it out and got the TinyHawk 2 which I like much better in every way.
      One issue with the Mobula7 new out of the box was the motors rattled which made them sound like cheap junk motors. This was irritating every time I flew it...
      I took them all apart and oiled them but they still rattled. The drone also would shake in a hover which a lot of people were having and mentioned in the forums and here on TH-cam, but I completely got rid of that in the PID adjustment. It was then super smooth!

    • @TweetFPV
      @TweetFPV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had a mobula 7 and is was also not a good Quad. For flying acro outside the mob6 was more able to do the acro type flying I like to do. Mainly to the traditional prop layout and lower weight.

    • @CX2Pilot
      @CX2Pilot 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TweetFPV The Mobula6 is getting good reviews from what I have seen. I thought about getting it but decided to get the TinyHawk 2 instead. And with your settings it turned it from mild to a very responsive and locked in super drone! It also helps with outdoor flying in the wind as I can get the nose way down to help pull it through light wind.

    Can i use the radio and goggles I got with the EZ pilot kit for the TH2 or do I need a different one, thanks.

    • @TweetFPV
      @TweetFPV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The goggles are universal and can be used with just about any 5.8ghz transmitter that can be found on most fpv quads. Unfortunately the controller is a proprietary communication standard that is only going to work with the ez pilot. So you would need to get a new radio. A great entry option is the betafpv literadio2. betafpv.com/collections/tx/products/literadio-2-radio-transmitter?sca_ref=360201.IdW7j0Cv8A

    Hi Tweet, hey I’ve just now started reading about the 48kHz tune and the steps to take to use the JESC download. I’m just wondering, if after I do the JESC 48kHz tune, then use your dump, will the dump already be set to a 3 pos. switch, or do I need to setup a switch first that activates the first, second, and third pid and profile rates. I hope I asked this correctly without being too confusing. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much.

    Hi there, I'm pretty now to FPV and would like you clarify what you mean by: "your modes should be on a 3 position switch so rate profile 1 is using pid profile 1 rate profile 2 with pid 2 and rate 3 with pid 3."
    I'm currently flying 1s and use pid profile 1 for that and I change my by switching between rate profiles(just to try different ones). Pid profile 2 is for 2S if I remember correctly. Why are you saying we need to put it on a switch and use 1-3 pid profiles?

    • @TweetFPV
      @TweetFPV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because using a 3 position switch is how the people at emax designed it to work. If you know what you are doing with betaflight you can change this to work however you want.

    • @InfinityDrones
      @InfinityDrones 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TweetFPV Okay, I thought we wanted to stick to a pid profile for 1s and a pid profile for 2s. Then be able to switch between angle, horizon and air mode with the switch.

    • @TweetFPV
      @TweetFPV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can't remember exactly but I think this setup from emax used cell count to change pid profile automatically for 1s ans 2s.

    • @InfinityDrones
      @InfinityDrones 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TweetFPV Thanks for the quick response! yeah you are correct, they do switch. I've just checked your CLI and was wondering if I should use pid profile 2 or 3 when flying 1s batteries. You mentioned that it should be set up on a switch to switch pid profile and rate profile... I was wondering if you meant that our modes should be on a switch for stab, horizon, and acro. So I'm still not 100% what you meant. Sorry if I'm being retarded and just being dumb.

    • @TweetFPV
      @TweetFPV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm assuming that I was saying to put your flight modes on a 3 position switch because that was how emax had set the Quad up from the factory. And I think the rate profile changed with your flight modes automatically if you were using the correct aux switch that emax intended you to use. All these things can be changed to your liking. The pid profile should be automatic, from what I remember pid profile 1 was for 1s and 2 was for 2s. I don't think they used pid profile 3 for anything and I would guess that it is just bf stock pids.

    • @TweetFPV
      @TweetFPV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The tinyhawks is certainly easier to fly and Lear how to fly on. For a more advanced pilot the mobula 6 is probably the way to go. The 25,000kv varrient will get slightly lower flight time than the 19000kv version but imo If you were an advanced pilot the 25,000kv would be better in the long run. Flight times can be made better by installing jesc and changing the pwm frequency to 48k.

      Built-in Rx are crap, you're almost always going to be better off with an external nano Rx in whatever protocol you prefer.
      Happymodel makes Flysky BNF kits, but a Flysky FS-iA8x is less than $20 and has about 4x the range. Once you snip the plug, it only weighs about .6 grams with the antenna!

    You are dealing with 2 separate classes. I don't think it's fair to compare the two.... And you have a custom tune on the TinyHawk, you need to be fair with your comparisons. I normally love your videos, but I'm shaking my head at this one. Compare the beebrain with the Mobula6. They are the same class.

    • @TweetFPV
      @TweetFPV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are right. They are in two different classes. The mobula is a tinywhoop class and the tinyhawk is a micro class. But it is fair to compair them because they are marketed against each other. Most multigp indoor races are a open class and the mobula6 and the tinyhawk 2 will be raced against each other. in that case the tinyhawk 2 would, based on my testing be the better choice. In either case it's up to the purchaser to decide where to put thier cash.

    Heavy quads are faster, it complicated but heavy quads need less angle to achieve faster speeds.

    • @rcrdps8144
      @rcrdps8144 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep. When I went from whoops to 3", I was amazed at how fast they were. Then I went to a slightly heavier 3", and it was even faster. Got me to thinking,... oh,... right,... When you set the same camera angle on them, the heavier one requires more thrust to stay aloft, and so more thrust is also pointing rearward. As you go up in weight on quads, and use the same camera angle, you find yourself hanging on for dear life! For a professional outdoor racer who is full throttle in the straights, lighter is faster. But for the rest of us, weight and camera angle forces you out of your comfort zone. Today, I lowered my camera angle because I was having a hard time getting in close and tight to objects. But I kinda missed the automatic ripping that the higher camera angle gave.

On a course on the first flights rather speaks of preference. “It flies closer to what you are used to”. I’d like a scene were you test them and compare racing, freestyle, range, cam in different lighting, video quality, bang for buck etc also did you test the mob6 on bf4.1 on jesc fw?

      I my testing I was comparing racing, camera quality, build quality. Anyone can zoom around a room and would probably thing the mob6 is better but it lacks the precision control that the th2 has. Between the cameras hands down the th2 is the clear winner in my testing, specs. Both quads don't fly very well out of the box and require tuning. Both were setup with jesc 48khz esc fw and bf 4.1.x. I had probably 50 packs through the mob6 before I did the laps on it and the same goes for the th2. Beleave me (I know you don't) the th2 is the better Quad and will outlast the mob6.
