    I've been having a lot of fun flying my Mobula 6 through my DIY LED race gates, as my recent TH-cam uploads show, but there is a problem with it - If you try to fly with a battery that's lower than 3v charge voltage, there is a chance it will brownout and wipe the EEPROM, erasing all the Betaflight settings and radio binding. Happened to mine 3 times so far.
    Once your Mobula 6 is setup and working, do a CLI "dump all" and save it, so you can paste it in & rebind the radio if necessary.
    BTW my FlySky version came with a little note saying if I find the range isn't good enough then I should plugin the included FS82 RX module...! I've only been able to fly it indoors so far (typical British winter weather) so haven't had range problems (yet).

    The tinyhowk 2 automatically change the pids profile when detect the battery voltage. If you put a xt30 and flash the ESCs to 48khz, you get about 40 extra seconds of fly

    Cheers for the review, thought id mention when you get caught in the air like that in the tiny hawk, you can switch to horizon or acro, and tilt it a little bit more, and it will go against the wind, on 2s it has no trouble at all with a pretty heavy breeze

    One slight correction on the connectors pin construction of the TinyHawk 2 and that is it’s still a hollow pin construction (unless there are different versions already). I just checked mine that I received this past week and it has hollow pins.

    I’ve been into FPV whoops for under a year now, and I’ve already destroyed 2 mob 7’s and an eachine 65 mm brushed whoop. I’m looking for something with a super strong frame so I don’t have to keep replacing them. I hope the Mob 6 is good, because If it dies on me then I’m givin up on the hobby

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on how they are being destroyed. If its crashing and lots of wear and tear then the EMAX Tinyhawk is built to survive a lot more bumping into stuff....

  • @miguelt.7997

    Own both. TH 2 best first ever drone to learn. Mobula 6, takes more skills, but a LOT more rewarding to fly.

  • @adeburnham419
    @adeburnham419 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I usually build and set up my own quads.....However I've decided I want an indoor smooth quad to fly around the house I did have a mobula7 over a year ago but even with throttle taming on betaflight I just couldn't get on with it and got rid of it.
    Watching a few youtube videos i'm now thinking of buying the new Emax tinyhawk 2 flying on 1s battery looks like a smooth indoor flyer (im not looking to race just to fly around the house under the tables chairs etc)...So here's my question ?
    My TX is a Taranis X9D+ Special Edition which is a EU version and my four outside quads all have EU software R-SXR receivers on them bound to D16.
    My Tx had either D16 or LR12 bind modes....Ive just put the latest Taranis update on my radio not ticking 'eu' on Open TX when I flashed it so now I have the option of either D16 or D8 binding.
    I've read online that through betaflight in the receiver option you can change the tinyhawk 2 from a 'Frsky D for 8 channel' to 'Frsky X for 16 channel' so the real question is this.....Can I now bind in D8 Mode or D16 Mode and what would be the difference am I still getting full telemetry in both ?
    I only have one model set up in my Tx so all my quads are bound to that ie D16 mode so if I bound to D8 my other models wouldn't work unless I created a second model to bind in D8 ?
    Basically if I bound in D16 like all the other four quads I could then run the tinyhawk on the one model set up but would I still get telemetry ? I'm just trying to work out the difference between D8 and D16 ?
    The Emax tinyhawk states its a spi receiver compatible with Frsky D8 mode ?
    Thanks for any advice .

  • @anthonyshort8957
    @anthonyshort8957 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Could you expand on your recommendation to be careful using FrSky X rather than D? Specifically, is it possible to use the TH2 with something like the X-Lite Pro which doesn't do D8?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a well known issue when using D16 (x series) protocol with telemetry on with a lot of these SPI recievers. You get very poor range... See some of my other recent reviews..

    Any tips advise. Finding mob6 won't hover. Just brought myself the mobula 6 and TX16s. Only trying LOS for now so delaying google purchase. Flown a few "toy" drone most recent being a x900 and the seem ok. But with mob6 can't get a steady hover. Seems to find a throttle level and then it will suddenly drop or raise. Willing to put it down to fat fingers and lack of finesse perhaps. But just wondering if I missed something or it a fault. Tried tweak throttle curves etc but not found a good combo. I went to unplug a motor ( 3 came unplugged easy enough) the 4th one when I went to unplug and did not even pull on it,the entire connector came off the board....it appears to have been glued and not soldered...it has three pin connector in the bottom front and one contact on each bottom corner on the rear, and it appears to just lays on the contacts on the board and is glued down to ensure contact ( I see no way or know of no iron that small and thin to be able to get under the connector to solder anything on the board contacts)....any advice or suggestions or any knowledge of it would be appreciated...Thanks in advance

    Lee, you missed the entire point and the MAIN RULE OF THUMB WITH WHO0PS!
    *IT'S ALL ABOUT WEIGHT WITH TINY WHO0PS!*
    There's no comparison! The Emax who0p weighs 11 grams... Yes! Over 50% more than the Mobula6!
    It's too damn heavy! 😩
    Every other review I have watched says it's just a mediocre flyer because it's too heavy... And trying to do too much! Fly on both 1s and 2s and it does NEITHER VERY GOOD! To hell with the case, LED's, and all of the other junk... *IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE IF THE WHO0P DOESN'T FLY VERY GOOD!*
    At 31g it's just another bloated cow 🐮. Exactly like all of the other who0ps where the manufacturer tried to make it a jack of all trades and do too much! *It fails at everything because of the excessive weight!*
    Where as, like you said, the Mobula6 is the lightest brushless who0p you've ever seen... Remember, *it's all about weight with who0ps* ...
    So it flies *BEST IN CLASS* because it weighs a mere 19.7 grams! 😎👍
    And, when it comes right down to it, isn't that what we all really want, a who0p that flies amazing!? Y E S ! 😁🤘
    *Why buy mediocre when you can get BEST IN CLASS?* 🤔 😉

      These two models are aimed at different flying experiences so one will suit better than the other, depending on what you are looking for. This has been my dilemma....I was torn between the Mobula 6 or Tinyhawk 2.......And as Lee says different quads will appeal to different people depending on how you want the quad to fly.......My example I usually build and set up my own quads for outdoor flying but last year I wanted a indoor quad for flying through small gaps ie under tables and chairs etc and at the time the mobula7 was the 'best ever tiny quad' so I bought one......It was impossible to tame enough through betaflight to get a smooth fight so I was either on the ceiling or floor and hitting chair legs etc plus there seemed to be a lost signal issue and the quad would just drop to the floor for no reason (obviously a build quality issue) anyway I gave up with it and eventually binned it !
      This year I've decided on the Tinyhawk 2 even though the Mobula6 is now out purely because watching TH-cam videos I can see the Mobula 6 is still flighty indoors like the Mobula 7 was......I'm personally after controlled smooth fight which I'm sure the Tinyhawk 2 will give me plus the build quality looks better.......I'm not knocking anyone who wants the Mobula6 if you want a fast indoor racer then yes that's the one to go for but if you want a smoother controlled flight then the Tinyhawk 2 is the one to go for........There is no right or wrong answer you just have to decide what you want your quad for ?
