    The suspension just lacks a lot of travel. Better than a lot of other crossovers for sure but it just needs a bit more and it will be phenominal. Solid axles are not the only way but they usually have good travel

    • @cotrails8356
      @cotrails8356  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a very different style with independent suspension for sure. As the New Bronco rolls out and hits the trail you will notice that it, along with the 4Runner, share similar attributes and “stiffness”. However, you will find all 3 of these vehicles successfully attempt obstacles that most owners will never even try. Our new build will have additional downtravel and we’re hoping to have it done this month👍

    In my humble opinion they have completely missed the point at LR. When you are in the bush, hundreds of kilometers away from civilization, the last thing you want is a sensor that fails or an air suspension malfunctioning.
    Like the previous Defender this one should have been a straight forward vehicle and a good basis for modifications. The new Defender is far from that.
    Because the vehicle is loaded with electronics, they had to us automatic gearbox, which again. Is complicated, loaded with electronics and in case of failure you need an expert with fully tooled workshop to repair it, something no available in the desert or the jungles of Africa.
    In fact, this is a very sophisticated and capable SUV but not an expedition vehicle.

      You will need to tilt the front coolers and trim the front inner fenders depending on tire choice. An 11.5” wide requires very little. A 12.5” wide requires more. The 4” subframe lift is probably the best setup and then if you still want a little boost you could add 1”, 1.5”, or 2” lift rods. The lift rods limit down travel so I would select the smallest you need or none at all. We will most likely be going to the larger kiddy with 37’s on our next build. The lift is very straight forward to install and takes about a day with proper tools and a lift. Figure two days of doing yourself and in a garage with no lift.
