I’m a retired L R test driver, left in 2016 just before we got any work on L663. This is something to be proud of, most folks think it’s just a posh SUV, you guys have proved it to be properly capable. Well done, and great Mods. 👍

Bof !! Terrible car with plenty of eletric/electronic fault with poor clearance and very very expensive. Sorry I will rather choose a safer and capable land cruiser.

Just watched 4xoverland guy talking about the new Defender. One of the issues he had (besides believing it wasn't a true off-roader) with it was it couldn't be modded and you can't fit a winch. I think he needs to see this! And maybe Ronny Dahl too.

@@tpb7350 they used to be a little bit special in the early p38 years however since late 90s they have been consistently improving and Land Rover say they are working on improving even further

Awesome stuff, didn't think we could get cornering lights.
Have you added f#@$ loads of mud program to the rest and what engine is that. Did you disable the DSC as you had plenty of spin going on.
Mud is all real bud haha, all stock landrover programs, In Low Range DSC when you turn it off turns back on when traction lost or 40kph @landrover. For the final hill we got sick of it turning back on and put her in high range DSC off and booted it, it stays off for us in high range.
Damn that is some slick mud. 1:45- butt clenching. But hey, at the least the landing would have been soft if she rolled. 🤙 from the USA.

Great driving guys. Do you switch off traction control or leave it on in mud/ruts setting?
If high rpm we try and switch as much off as possible, even high range so its stays off sometimes 😉 crawling in mud, yes mud ruts
Is that the P300? It sounds amazing, so initially thought P400, but then saw you’re running 18” wheels…
We converted the p400 to have 18s, we added our muffler delete and rear twin 3 inch system
So which engine is in it? that thing sounds rowdy and popped like a 2 step

Great video, of a very capable vehicle, which dose all that, and then gives a comfortable ride home! Out of interest did you change the terrain response settings much, or was it low range, mud and ruts all the way?
Cheers, Mostly low range mud and ruts. Because new defenders have an issue of TC/DSC turning back on when traction is lost in low range, for certain spots we used high range to get around that.
Remarkable performance! I've noticed the fog lights turning on and off sporadically. Is it a feature or a bug?

Currently own a modified LR4, and since a lot of this new Defender is like the LR4, I already know what needs to be done, but there weren’t many companies doing aftermarket stuff for a while. Glad to see you guys and others out there making this stuff now. Yours is the first bullbar I’ve seen. I was curious how to get around those lower coolers by the fog lamps- I like how you did it. If I go Defender for my next rig you’ll be getting my order. Defender might have tough competition though if the Grenadier makes it to market. Besides loving my LR4 I decided to keep it a while longer to wait for mods for the Defender and see about the Grenadier. Keep up the good work I’ll watch the entire vid tonight- looks like you guys were having a blast out there.
@@dadventuretv2538 the defender will be a completely different vehicle to the grenadier if it ever happens because the Defender has the perfect combination of comfort, all terrain ability + safety
What do you think about the new bronco
Looks ok, defender looks to be a better overall vehicle for towing, payload, performance ALL terrain capability and looks, bronco look to be aiming for the jeep market. In our opinion the Bronco which came after the new defender was a cheap copy attempt, it does have some cool features tho to be fair.

Snorkel is raised air intake, your are correct with standard snorkel 90cm we have a real snorkel on now, if you look at our latest videos, we also have a lift a bigger tyres so our wading is more than standard. We have all standard landrover protection plus rocksliders for under and our long range tanks have built in HD protection.
I would love it in the v8 supercharged. Can you get 38 inch under her. If you cut rolled the gaurds ?.

I like the new Defender but obviously solid axle articulation can't be beat. I mean climbing over a little muddy Hills is fun but any old disco 2 could do it. I enjoy seeing a new Defender do it nonetheless I'm just not impressed other than somebody was willing to actually take it out that's good to see
Interestingly there is a mud hole in this video we go through that a 79 Series LandCruiser got stuck on after multiple tries and the section that is the thumbnail for this video where there is a lifted wheel a chopped Nissan Patrol on solid axles could not get through as it was going to tip on its side and we just drove through it no problems. The new defender doesn't try to be a 1 trick pony, it really is a do anything well vehicle which is extremely hard to achieve.

Have you seen our mod list matey? For a new defender, It is very highly modified actually, could even be the most modified in the world.
Right lol more like accessories. It's cool to see this thing go off road but it's not impressive at all. A discovery 2 or even more so a Jeep Rubicon would articulate right through all that stuff no big deal not putting wheels up in the air. All the ifs on this is made for mass production purposes because it's cheaper and easier to make everything ifs it's nothing to do with off-road performance at all that's why the Rubicon still has solid axles. I would say this Defender probably feels very smooth and makes drivers who don't know how to drive off-road have a very easy time with all the automatic stuff that it's doing. Yeah I've seen some on 37s now and yeah they're great but that's just because 37s are great LOL

@@springer3783 I guess the benefit of opening to the side is that if you're in a tight spot you can still get into the back but if you're up against a car or a wall you can't get in at all with the lifting up design

I’ve seen a few which have had a wheel dangling very high in the air which has resulted in the vehicle coming down hard and nearly rolling over, Land Rover always prided themselves on axle articulation which has been lost in these new vehicles because they build vehicles for mainly road use now unfortunately.

@@newdefendermods thank u for the quick response - my 2021 Defender came with 22 inch wheels - hard to find any decent off road tires for it - and of course - not enough sidewall at that point - - I just need to suck it up and purchase some smaller wheels to get the tires I want - thank u again - ur 110 looks awesome

Unfortunately, the air suspension cannot be replaced by a conventional suspension ...
Actually the air suspension is one of the main reasons people buy these as you can drive it out of the factory and tow a caravan without completely changing the suspension system like in most other 4x4s you have to, did you know that the new defender comes in both coil and air suspension? You can choose when you order 🙂
