The Gadget God hey bro I have a question..does the transferring transfer faster depending on internet or not?
If you do the transfer using an external hard drive, then the transfer is done via the USB 3.0 cable, not the internet. So having fast internet makes zero difference in that scenario :) @RooeyZeEpic 21

I have a seagate 5tb external and when u turn off the Xbox , the hard drive stays on. Is there a way to turn off the drive once I turn off the Xbox or will it always stay on . Only way I can get it to turn off is by doing a full shutdown . Or can I unplug the drive once the Xbox is on sleep low energy mode and before I turn on the Xbox I plug back In ?
Yes, there is an option on the Xbox One under Settings < Power & startup < Power mode & startup < check the box for "When Xbox is off, turn off storage" :)
I just got the 12 tb hard drive

Yes, it is transferring EVERYTHING including your games and all your game save data :)
I watched another video And they said if the hard drive is formatted to the original Xbox one it won’t work on the Xbox one S it has to be formatted to the S before Transferring data off the original Xbox one to the S?
That is not true. All models of the Xbox One use the same Software OS, so you can swap USB hard drives between Xbox Ones in case you want to bring all of your games to a friends house or something fun like that :)

& to transfer games. They should have installed an
SSD on the new XBOX1 x or let us upgrade when we
bought but just do it.... games run like butter

I had my Xbox and I got an X for Christmas. I unplugged my ssd and plugged into my X and I could immediately access my games. I even take it to my friends house on his Xbox because he doesn’t have the games installed.
I know I can install games in the hard drive to have it installed and go to my friend’s house and play it instantly both digital and on disc, but if I copy a digital game and install it in my friend’s Xbox can he play it without using my profile?
No. He will need to be signed into your Profile to play your digital game. The only work-around is if you assign your friend's console to be your "Home" Xbox One console, but I don't recommend that.

So much storage space! I get multi-platform games on my Xbox One X because games play and look their best on that super powered console. I get PS4 exclusives for my PS4 Pro. I never buy games twice, just once :)
I think I'll begin buying most if not all multi-platforms games on my S model in order to future proof for when I upgrade to the X model. I love my PS4 and it has served me well so far but with only 500gbs it is really struggling. Thanks, m8. The Xbox 360 showed all game saves, expansions and games separately, so it was really easy to understand. I rarely play Xbox one, and every time I do it has a completely new update, so I can never get used to it.
My external hard drive is being automatically recognized as a media player. I'm not getting the initial prompt asking me what I want to use it for. Any idea why and what I can do to fix this?
Do this:
1. Go to Settings App
2. Select System
3. Select Storage
4. Select your external hard drive
5. Select Format
6. Now you will see the prompt :)

ty inspector Gadget, There's 3 USB ports on my X1.
2 on back & 1 on front right. The back 2 didn't recognize the SSD but the front did. The format &
transfer took less than 40 seconds & games load
in almost 1/2 the time. Play is a bit more fluid.
