I've got the prime pinnacles, playing on a Fosi BT30D Pro. They sound wonderful, and the low end is so competent that I even turn off my SB1000 pro sub and just go with the speakers. They shake my walls while still sounding as clean/clear as i need them to be. Saw them tested on another channel, they actually come in at 91 db.

The RP 8000F ii is one of the most dynamic tower speakers due to its very efficient design at 92dB (without boundary gain). While it has placement issues due to its directional horn design, once dialed in with some toe in provides an immersive, enveloping sound even at lower volumes or with lower powered tube amps.

@@MasterofPlay7 Agreed but that is exactly why I have paired it with a subwoofer. I think the crossover redesign was thoughtfully done. I’d rather give up some bass in exchange for better overall linearity and high sensitivity.

@@MasterofPlay7 soundstage is excellent. Imaging is great (in my seated position). Because of narrow distortion of horn / waveguide, you’re imaging will take a hit if you move too much off axis. I have a Denafrips Ares ii DAC that works well to provide immersive soundstage. I haven’t A B’d this to other speakers so my guess is that other wider dispersion speakers (I.e. Q acoustics) will have better soundstage but I don’t feel I am missing anything from that a standpoint .

SVS is the better designed speaker in terms of both it and the center being 3 way. For me having the better horizonal dispersion out of the center matters more then if my towers are as competent. But it really comes down to what you're doing with them. Obviously if you're a 2 channel guy then you don't care about the center and at that point it comes down to tonality and bass depth if you're not using a sub(s).

SVS at the end of the day sounded too soft and unexciting to me. You need some power and volume to get fuller response from them. They are a distant second to Klipsch in HT. Klipsch are also cleaner and more exciting in 2 channel. I'll stick with klipsch. And yes, I had the svs ultras before and the prime powered now.

  • @ronnieblack2482

Klipsch to me is the overall better speaker because of a few things..Efficiency you don't need a ton of power to push these,, They're not too bright or splashy with the highs, during the sales the deep discounts make some stuff that was out of reach to many reachable. I"m not saying SVS doesnt sound better, because there SB3000 sub is probably the best sub on the plantet for the price point. Im sticking with Klipsch all the way , NOw I may buy a SVS SUB lol

Klipsch horn tweeters overpower the other drivers. Even with massive eq. Too brash and harsh at the top end. SVS primes have a much more matched sound and not fatiguing at all which contributes, imo, to them being an overall, more transparent speaker.

No, that horn problem has been solved a long time ago... you are just repeating some old biased stuff from years ago.
In that time... yes klipsch had harsh horns... no longer the problem..
Stop spreading bs when you dont even have such stuff in the first place... probably showboating with bose satellite...

If you're not in a rush to do it, wait until SVS' next outlet sale around Black Friday. You can usually get like-new speakers (or with minor blemishes) on the cheap that way. I got a pair of Prime Towers and a Prime Center for about $950 and you get the full warranty, return policy, etc. Ended up liking the sound of those three so much that I picked up 4 Prime Satellites and 4 Prime Elevations and said goodbye to all of my 15+ year old Polks. My only regret is that I should have gone with the Prime Bookshelves instead of the Sats.

This was a HORRIBLE review conversation. The only reason a person would search for this video or have it pushed to them by the algorithm, is because they are unsure and probably not an audiophile. To tell somone to go out and buy a pair of speakers (4000k for all if you dont get them on sale), plus you have to test with subs and a center channel that you haven't bought yet. For a regular joe, he wouldn't know how to equalize to get the maximum potential from these speakers in time to return them. Hence the reason people look to experts for guidance, not to tell listeners to try themselves. This was a sad waste of time!
