I think you're doing a great job of interpreting the data without "trashing" on speakers that have non-perfect measurements. Of course we need to be critical, but being respectful and realistic is just as important.

i think your spot on. I so wanted these speakers a couple years back which would have been the original series. went back to listen multiple times but i just couldn't get over there was no mid bass punch and the vocals sounded thin. i believe if they made this a 2.5 way design it would be a much better performer.

As a musician, a career musician...I dont understand at the prices people pay for this stuff, why they dont just buy pro audio gear?
The pa system I used for thousands of shows was a Bose L1M2 with tonemach mixer and B2 sub. It was around $3,500. new.
You could use one of those for crowds of up to 500 people, and Bose pro audio gear is wayyyy different than their consumer products, in a good way.
You could have a kick ass stero and have the ability to quickly take it down and use it for outdoor parties etc.
You music would not sound better on home stereo gear.

Hi Erin! New to your channel. I know this is a late comment, but thought I'd relate this anyway. I used to work for a home theater company about 20 years ago. We sold Klipsch and many people found them "beamy" from on-axis listening. Our recommendation for that was to aggressively toe-in the speakers so the tweeters converged about 3-4 feet in front of the main listener's nose. We received posotive results from this. Anyone with Klipsch speakers in this situation of ear fatigue maybe ought to try that, as on-axis to me and many others isn't optimal and going with no toe-in loses detail. Just my experience.

I love your channel however I actually completely disagree with this review. I'm using a new Yamaha a4a through a brand new set of klipsch rp8000f series 2. Chord handmade speaker wire out of the UK. The sound is utterly fantastic. Not bi-wired but I'm sure if I did they would be even better. Extremely, extremely dynamic. I have owned many speakers in the past be it Mission/b&w/infinity you name it all costing more than 3 k Australian. I play a PRS guitar and appreciate good sound. I own powered studio monitor speakers which I run through a top end Focusrite unit for guitar / music use. I have many different guitars / amps also. I've mainly been listening to music through the Klipsch which sounds just utterly fantastic no matter the genre. Metal TICK pop TICK classical just phenomenal... Listening to a Metallica concert Kirk's guitar sounded so powerful and airy. Like a live concert. I've never heard sound like this at home. Ever. Simply blown away. They had more to give I could tell. I am tempted to purchase a Crown poweramp to give them more clean power but in reality there is no need. I have had MANY top end speakers. These beat the lot. Maybe not as silky treble as some have had but what they do is sharp quick clear beyond words and they just sound alive. Sharp clear and PLENTY I do mean PLENTY of bass. This was with no bass enhancer on. There is NO need for a subwoofer with these. I listened to Lorde "royals" and the house literally shook on minus 15 db to the point I was worried about the roof. I'm not sure how you had these set but the bass is HUGE. Played the avengers last night on 4k ultra through the ps5 and the dynamics were easily higher than ANY movie theater I've ever been in. Absolutely blown away. I had the money to purchase higher end speakers but I am thoroughly impressed with these. They got the horn bang on perfect. Music sounds nothing short of fantastic through tidal or anything really. Incredible detail and extremely quick sounding high frequencies. An absolute joy to listen to. I haven't bought the center speaker yet but there isn't really a need for it to be honest... The clarity is just to die for. Toed in a little just a touch not too much maybe 10 degrees the stereo imaging is just ON POINT! They don't need to be turned up to get the full frequency response either. Good at any volume level. I usually listen to the amp on minus 20 db and it is more than loud enough. My mission two way made in the UK speakers which cost a LOT needed to be on 0db to even compare. Klipsch have knocked this out of the park. I am a VERY discerning listener, hard to please and A VERY happy customer. No complaints. Love them.

Pairing dynamic speaker with yamaha which plays highs strong is not recommended.....Usually sellers recomend amplifier like Marantz....I really confused what to choose.I really like yamaha I know they pricey but they make premium products...

@@patrykgorecki581 mate whatever I play through them sounds just brilliant. Not overly sharp just right. Movies, tidal, pop rock metal you name it. Many people who love these are not wrong. hello, I want to buy the 6000f II, and I recently heard the 8000f II, but I found the media very off, both in rock and pop, zd that the klipsch are characterized by their equalization in "V", but I did not know that it was so extreme to the point of almost no clear midrange at all. I have the 4 5” driver Klipsch center channel speaker with a pair of rp600 L/R (due to current room size limitations). Would I be better off using floorstanding L&R towers with 5” drivers, matching the center channel drivers, and moving the rp600s as surround speakers? Is mixing front LCR driver diameters ok, or should I try to use a consistent driver diameter, especially in my front stage. I have a separate powered sub for bass. Thanks!!

I bougth the 8000f II and i dont like them. To clean. I had the version one, but the sound was to much bass for the room wehere i was living with my GF. So i changed into the 6000. Now, i live alone again, and the room is bigger. i bought the version 2, because they sound so much impressing on the sheet, and i have the feeling the first version of the 8000 where more balanced. I think they should have taken the smaller horn. The bigger horn makes the Box to clean and the highs to high so i have to turn down the treble. The first one had better overall bass in my opinon. Many sounds dont have a good volume. Especially Guitars sound to thin on the version 2 in comparison. At least in my room. Or is it just my room? Do you had the same feeling that the SOund is better on the first Version? Or is it just me? Great Video by the way. Even if i understand only the half. But i am from Germany. This sounds very much like the sound character of this entire range of speakers.
I reckon there is probably the factor of higher sensitivity that is behind the uneven response and underwhelming bass. I also reckon that they kind of aim for all music tastes (bar bass-heavy dance music). Are they 2.5 way speakers? That might be another reason for this too.
I think the Klipsch speakers of this range have some impressive strengths and some pronounced weaknesses - the lacking midbass probably being their greatest weakness. If one is willing to live with them, they're probably a bargain at the price. If these strengths and weaknesses were balanced, then they would probably cost at least twice their market price.
On the other hand, it is great that Klipsch have found a winning design formula and have stuck with it for over a decade!

  • @Thomasp671

Yes, you are very correct... Like most speakers today the speakers also require a subwoofer... it's part of the home entertainment system or theater system... it's not like it used to be with just two sets of speakers lol
But with that said I have always loved Klipsch and I swear by their heritage line of speakers... They are fantastic... !!!
As of right now, I have the Klipsch RP 160M's and they sound great in my little small 12x14 foot room with a 12" inch distance from the corners of the room... lots of bass, mids and highs... for such a small speaker... :-) I love these ❤ And they can also get very clean and load !!

Measurements, someone's personal hearing, personal listening room, electronics are all factors. Minor dips/bumps may actually help. That being said, eq's can correct this. Room treatment. and so on. You can suck all the oxygen out of a room and pass out from trying to interpret what a speaker sounds like based on measurements. It rarely sounds that way.
You should see the measurments Richard Hardesty did of the vaunted $20,000 Wilson watt-puppy 5'. The most laughably bad measurements I have seen of any speaker over $299 a pair. Meanwhile, Vandersteen 2ce signature III's measure extremely well, but they are NOT going to be exciting for home theater of those that prefer realistic transients. So measurements need to be taken with a grain of salt, one way or the other.
People that prefer laid back will automatically dismiss klipsch. People who prefer klipsch won't be excited by laid back and rolled off speakers.
    "Should have more bass?"
I have heard plenty of 8" towers that may reach deeper, but the drivers are slow to transients. Others that have a fake hump to simulate low bass. Most vintage speakers, even 12" models didn't have the quality, punch or depth of bass of the 8000FII.

The MA are a better speaker, much better finish, and MA HQ is only 20 miles from me. When I do get around to replacing my left/right mains I will be going with the MA Silver 500's. I have the 8000F IIs. I think you are spot on with the review. I cross them at 60 hz to a home made 8.5 cubic ft sub. If you can EQ them a bit they work very well. A parametric EQ like a minidsp would be really nice! A low Q 3db cut centered at 3khz would do a lot. Maybe another at 400hz or so. For me the bump at 14khz would be inaudible. I have them towed in extra so the listening area is maybe 10deg off axis. BTW if a person is patient you can get this quite a bit below MSRP.

and then comes the bass, port and no low bass is ridiculous and the roll of starts a 60hz for the largest one, when i think that is should go up instead for real life flat response to our ears. making even flat response below 100hz sound anemic. unless you have the speakers close to wall and you also sit close to wall, but then all hifi qualities are out the window at that point, not only the bass are destroyed when you do that.

BSC of 3dB is actually ideal for speakers designed for near wall placement. Most speakers that you review has full 6dB BSC which is a disaster for near wall placement.
There is another issue here, the hotter high frequencies, which will make the bass thin even for near wall placement.
Most DIY'er who design speakers according to their room use BSC of 3-4dB, for a reason.

    • @ErinsAudioCorner
      @ErinsAudioCorner  ปีที่แล้ว +4

Yeah, I forgot to mention that. I checked the manual in hopes that they would tell you to place a speaker near the wall and it might account for this. However, the manual only shows a drawing and in the drawing it looks like the speakers are out from the wall if you put things to scale. The written portion only discusses the distance between the speakers but not the distance from the walls. In my opinion, if they are designed to be placed near a wall they really should state that. With that said, though, placing them near a wall will also cause a dip in the mid range. So you have to pick your poison.

Regardless, the BSC makes sense, the hot tweeter ruins the party I guess.
