Stay tuned for a follow up review once I manually program the V1 to ignore certain bands! Thanks for watching everyone!

Yes, program it to only pick up the bands that are used in your area or where your traveling too. I have been using V1 for many years with no problems at all. The wires are original and I have it hardwired into my car(s). Not sure you got the complete kit since it was used, but it comes with 2 wires (straight/curly) and you choose the type you prefer. I use the 12v adapter and curly wire when I take it into a rental or friends/family car and have it hardwired with the straight wire. Let us know how much better it is when you programmed it 😎

+Sylhety Thanks for the tips man, mine only came with the curly cord, but I have ordered another one that way I can go ahead and hardwire the V1 in my car. Will make a follow up video once everything has been done. Thanks again!

I have been running a V1 for 17 years and it was a very noisy detector prior to taking the time to customize the settings. Now it is GREAT. It is very quiet compared to the new detectors from Escort and Beltronics and detection range is superb. Vortex on youtube has great instructions and informational reviews. I have used two power connectors in 17 years.

Valentine picks up every single signal out there and it gets very annoying sometimes.
I use escort 9500ix and it is also a great alternative to valentine one.

+Jason Lee Yes, I have been meaning to try manually programming my V1 and testing it afterwards. I will upload a follow up review if I am able to program mine successfully.

Ppl have said that if you get pulled over for speeding and the cop sees that you have a radar detector, chances are you will get a ticket vs getting away with warning.

+nebilex It all depends on the cop, usually when you have it mounted near the rear view mirror, its not easily visible.

The WHOLE premise behind any Radar Detector is you DON'T get pulled over by that one rare nice (?) cop. So make your choice: (A) depend on the nice cop or (B) get the radar detector and just dodge the problem altogether. I take choice B.

Is it illegal? Say i get pulled over and the cop sees it, can i be fined?

+Danster Only in some states, I would check your local regulations before purchasing one.
