Dude where do you get your information? They did not come out with the Valentine One Gen 2 because the cops have new guns. The old detector detects every gun currently in use. They made a new generation device because there are certain parts in the old one that their suppliers were not going to produce anymore so they had to redesign it to use new parts.
Dude, it's not a radar. It's RADAR DETECTOR!!! I don't care for the 2nd gen, myself. Putting the buttons on top is just stupid, when the optimal mounting position is above your mirror. Which means, in a lot of vehicles (like my 4Runner), you won't be able to get your fingers in there.
Just because you see a cop your detector won’t always go off because he might have his off and V1 recommends for one to use there cord or one can get bad readings or not any at all.
