The performance is amazing. Yesterday I was coming back from work and the V1 alerted me of a police trap down the road about .9 miles away from it. After I went by it the rear V1 antenna was still picking up Ka for about a mile. And yes it is accurate, after driving with it for year and then some I learned where false alarms are and now I 100% know where the police is.

Everything looks brand new and they make sure to test them anyway before they go back out the door. People on e-bay must not know this since I see them bidding 380 on ones that are a year old.
Yes, Police radar has to be on for V1 to alert you. RadarDetectors are almost like portable FM radio but it looks for different frequency's. For V1 to work Police radar needs to send out the frequency that V1 is looking for.
Drive around and see if X ever goes off when cops are around. X will usually go off when you next to shopping mall or plaza where door sensors use X-band.
You are right, for D.C. and Virginia there is such radar detector called STI, it doesn't send out any radio frequency so Police won't know you have one unless they see it.
I don't know about any other mounts other then the once that come from V1. I found both mounts that come from V1 are very good. Watch first 30 sec of the video to see how to see what version you have, you can also go to V1 website and go to upgrades, there you can type in the serial number of your unit (SN located on the bottom of V1) and it will tell you what model you have and what upgrades you can do to the unit.
I bought mine used and so far so good now I was using my Escort 9500ix but I kept getting to many false signals that I can’t trust it so I got this one which is much better. 💯👍🏼
Yes, Escort and Bell have very nice radar detectors, they are nice and quiet and have very good bogies control. But V1 had arrows and has better range. So if you live in a city get Bell/Escort if you live in outskirts go with V1.

Unless he is checking the car in front of you, then you'll get the warning and can slow down. But if you are the only car in the left lane then you are 100% screwed. Happened to me this week and I quickly went to right lane and exited the highway, The cop was sitting at the road divider and was too lazy to cross all the lines w/ moderate traffic to get me so I got very lucky that day.

I thought I had gotten past the point of needing a radar detector but I guess it will always be a need with the increased police profiling.
I would not recommend using V1 in places where Radar Detectors are illegal because V1 does send out a lot of radio noise so that VG2 & Spector will find them very easily. Look at Beltronics STi, that might be Radar Detector for you.

A is All bogies not All bands. If you want to only turn off and on X band you dont have to go through all the steps just turn it off and back on after you move the "step 1" arrow. Freshly fresh unit LOL!
@wheelerguy83 Most detectors won't work well at all if they have anything in the way as big as the engine and rear body panels. And laser will be useless since it has to have direct line of sight. The Valentine One has a concealed diplay optional screen that you can mount anywhere for not much extra that can make it much much harder to see. And the V1 is fairly hard to detect unless you're really close. But if the LEO is that close you should have it off way before then.
You have to send it to V1 to get it upgraded. There is a section on V1 website which will tell you if upgrades are available and how much it will cost you.
If they can't see it they will not note it! My friend has his clipped to the visor and you will not know he was V1 until you look at the visor itself which cops usually don't do since it will put them into unsafe position.
Yes, but it was a running a red arrow which I got dropped to a parking violation. I'd say its the best radar detector that is out there. You still got to drive smart though because police can use instant on which nothing can save you from.

Drive around a see, if for a month you don't get any P-O-P alerts from your V1 there is a small chance P-O-P is being used in your area. *POP is very inaccurate and usually cannot be used in court. The POP feature is only there for police to sample your speed without Radar noticing since it takes the reading so quickly some RD don't alert. Then police officer has to switch over to Ka or K band and take your speed for it to be accurate and usable in court. That is if you can prove he used POP.
US and EURO is the same V1, the diffrerence is that EURO mode is activated in EURO model, go to V1 website find the settings diagram that I am talking about in the video and one of the last settings on that page is to activate/deactivate EURO mode. There is a slight difference when mode is active since KA, K bands use somewhat different frequency in Europe than USA. Changing the settings will fix your problem.
@lamboleum Yea man thanks. I already had V1 for 5 month and i love it. Arrows are one of the best features on it, does beep to much on fake signals but i would rather have that then a ticket. Couple of my buddies have passport 8500 and i would say V1 detects 1.5 farther then 8500. So far i love it, thanks to my girlfriend who bought me Valentine one on Valentine's day :)
i just got one, im having trouble with it, i did not program it and just to see how it would react i took it on the highway in NYC and had 3 cops pass me without it going off having tried it on all 3 modes it still did not detect any cops even when they were right next to me. whats wrong with my unit or do i have to program it? thanks

@ironbull2003 Yeah it is a noisy little guy but I'm so used to all the noises that I don't have to look at it to know whats going on. Only a quick glance at the arrows. This video is nice too, i always wondered about automute. I wish I had a girlfriend like that. lol Thats an awesome valentines gift. I do tons of highway drivng and me having a lead foot, my V1 has saved me from everything I've come across since I got it. An awesome feeling to know miles ahead just where they are.
@ironbull2003 if you havent chosen already look up the V1 Moments at Valentines site. I can say from having my V1 for a couple years that I've experienced almost all of those. It really shows how invaluable the arrows and counter are. All other detectors can't compare. Spend the extra money over cheaper alternatives on a good radar detector rather than spend it on the cops.

When you see the difference please post of make a video. There isn't much just turn off X (if its not used by police in your area) and be prepared for your GF/Wife to yell when she hears the V1 loud and obnoxious sounds (u won't realize because you get used to the sounds fast, but that sucker is noisy and loud) Have fun with your V1 :)
I don't carry drugs and don't look like I do so when I do get pulled over cops come up to the car and ask for License/Registration/Insurance go back write out a ticket and I am off.
@okcbrotha Well actually the fact is its very much smaller than all the cobra's, much smaller than the Escort 9500 and smaller than the Escort 8500 X50's so out of all other detectors in its class its the smallest. And since your in a state where its illegal to drive with a radar up, it should be off your windshield anyway.

If it maid a weird noise when it displayed F its probably False Alarm. It usually sounds like (De de dooogh).

@Niskyspy are you sure, last time I checked V1 was only a radio receiver, not transmitter in any way.

Not all cops have their scanners on. Usually it's the sheriffs that don't scan because they have bigger problems to worry about.

Last I checked, Radar detectors are not illegal, only Radar jammers.

It has to be next to the window or it wont work. Read up on Radars and you'll know why.
