      Suggestions for what to pack to eat! I packed a lot of dry food and couldn't eat it due to contractions every 2 mins so wish I had actually packed baby food pouches which would have been easier to gobble down with only a few seconds to spare including asking people to help me change position, water etc.
      Also an explanation of spinning babies for dummies because while the advice there is gold, I have never seen such a confusing website snd it is written in a very convoluted and confusing way so it was impossible for me to get my partner on board and we couldn't flip OP baby in labour. I flipped transverse baby on my own at 34-36 weeks with spinning babies so he thought he didn't need to know what I was doing but you can't explain that in labour and can't so side lying on your own. I couldn't anyway. Even now not pregnant I cannot balance

    1. Walking to allow gravity to pull baby down
    2. Sitting upright or bouncing on yoga ball
    3. Hydration, 1 small glass every hour
    4. Sit on the toilet every hour to allow bladder to empty and allow more room for your cervix to fully dilate
    5. Sitting back to front on the toilet allowing your hips to be elevated above knees
    6. Hypnobirthing breathING techniques to enhance production of oxytocin (video link at 4:56)
    7. Listen to hypnobirthing coaching (video link at 4:38)
    8. Stay warm, cold creates tension
    9. Nipple stimulation to encourage strength of contractions
    10. Labour in dimly lit or dark room
    11. Use acupressure (7:47)

    My hubby was hugging me last night and telling me how happy I made him and I was so happy to hear his compliments and feel his love that I wanted to do the same and it trigger a big contraction and been having them back all night an morning since but irregularly. Pretty sure that moment released a lot of oxytocin and it triggered it. Crazy how our bodies work. I am waiting to be term before going in active labor, so been working on staying relaxed and not irritating my cervix but all this is great for after 37 weeks. :) We will do more cuddles as well.

      @@HypnobirthingWithAnja I thought they were too. I assumed they hurt cause baby was pressing down with each. Until I went in to check fetal movement. I couldn't feel the baby at all and my baby flipped to the side behind my anterior placenta but was moving up a storm. That's how I found out those were real contractions and dilating me, which I was explained the reason for why they didn't go way after hottub(adjusted) and hot shower(during the process they did but after they were stronger). They have picked up since and I was checked today. Another NST tomorrow and a weekly scan. I was discharged with paperwork for preterm but told that I'll be term in 2 days and just take it easy. I have 2 kids and their contraction experiences were different from each other and this one. I didn't realize those were the actual contractions at all. I have a history of stalling labor with my kids and last one was induced after a day of labor(year + ago). It dilated me far and stopped both times. I am assuming this is happening again but clearly, no one is planning on inducing me right now for all the right reasons. I do have induction scheduled :)

      @@HypnobirthingWithAnja ... and I'm sorry, Ill be 37 weeks tomorrow. So I will be term, according to them. They were okay with me having natural labor after that day and had no instructions on preventing it, just what to do if they actually do end up turning into active labor. I have a huge doubt it ever will, based on previous experience, but one can dream. After all, I did start this process earlier than with my older kids. 🤞 That's why I am here. Maybe in a week or two but Ill be induced at 39 for medical reasons and it was my choice to wait until 39 weeks in hopes of natural birth. I can't go walking, it's too hot.

    Thank you so much for your helpful videos! 38+ now with my second pregnancy, and I am trying to go for a VBAC...first baby's heartbeat fell very low during early labor (little to no dilation, I could still rest between contractions), she was born through emergency c-section with asphyxia and an Apgar score as low as 1 but thanks God and a skillful medical team she is now a healthy and happy toddler!... Do you have any suggestions specifically for VBAC?
    Also, my first placenta turned out to have necrosis and I was 6 days overdue: is there anything I can do to avoid going overdue again? I hoped they would induce me on the due date but turns out they won't.

      @@HypnobirthingWithAnja wow, thank you so much! I am astonished at how those mothers from the article you linked could stay so strong as to go for the VBAC even after being discouraged by medical staff, and I realize how lucky I am. The one who first incouraged me to try a VBAC is the very same doctor who did my cesarean, and all the rest of the hospital staff is consistently pro VBAC.
      HBAC is not an option here in Italy, but I wouldn't want it either. Knowing that I will have to be under constant fetal heartbeat monitoring actually reassures me, because I know that should things go bad again, they could not get so close to tragedy like the first time. Much as cesarean was a trauma for me, I am still hugely grateful and trustful to the hospital staff, obviously for saving my first baby, but also for the way they took care of us, a very human and supportive way.
      My confidence shook a little bit when I saw the agreement paper from the hospital, and it mentioned that with VBAC the baby has 1 in 1000 chance to die inside the womb during the last week of pregnancy. What does that mean? Is that something that holds true for any pregnancy? It seems a really high number to me. Or is it a subtle, untold way to encourage women to opt for the scheduled c-section at 39 weeks?

    • @HypnobirthingWithAnja
      @HypnobirthingWithAnja  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ELisa-qf2mw those stats for VBAC babies do seem high. I do not know any VBAC statistics so I can't explain them unfortunately. I would like to know where the results came from and what studies were actually carried out or whether it's just calculated risk and not based on any real life events. All women that I know have some anxiety over birth between late second and early third trimester. This anxiety gets gradually lower, as you progress, also because it becomes quite exhausting and uncomfortable. You can do birth, you are most likely very well build and equipped for that.

    • @HypnobirthingWithAnja
      @HypnobirthingWithAnja  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Ludim, thanks for your question. You may have a short induction as your body has muscle memory from your previous labour so it is likely to not be a long labour this time. Usually you can have an epidural up to 8cm dilated so there are lots of things you can do before that. Also, ask your care team if they can offer you a mobile/walking epidural (or a low dose epidural). That means your legs will not be completely numb and you can still move about. If you do have a full dose epidural, try to lie on your side semi reclined, rather than on your back as that can help you have a smoother, easier birth. Hope that helps 💓

      It depends. If your waters break before labour starts or they break before 37 weeks of pregnancy or there is any green or brown discharge in your waters you should go to the hospital as soon as possible. During labour, if your waters break you need to be monitoring your contractions and go in when you think you can't manage at home anymore. Usually this is when your contractions are about 3-4 minutes apart and lasting about a minute. X

    • @HypnobirthingWithAnja
      @HypnobirthingWithAnja  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi! Thanks for your question. Many women are sick during labour because they don't eat or drink enough before or during labour. So, it's really important, that when labour starts, you are drinking little and often but also eating small snacks as well. Little bites of food and sips of drinks is so important. That can actually stop you from vomiting. It's also important to focus on slow breathing if you do feel sick or are sick again this time. Hopefully you won't be but slow breathing stops your body getting stressed and can lower adrenaline in your blood stream (panic, stress and adrenaline can all increase feelings of sickness so you need to avoid this). Hope that helps ❤️

    • @HypnobirthingWithAnja
      @HypnobirthingWithAnja  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It could be a sign of labour but I am not 100% sure. I am a bit concerned about the yellow discharge. Does it smell? I am just wondering if you have an infection. It may be your mucus plug but again I am not sure. You may be experiencing back pain because you are experiencing back labour and because your baby is in a back-to-back position. I would advise you to see your doctor as soon as possible to see what is going on and to ensure that you and baby are both ok.

      Your waters can break at any point in labour and it can't indicate how dilated you are. How often are your contractions coming? I would advise going for a walk if you can and going up and down stairs to see if that helps things progress. Make sure you are trying to rest at night though. I don't want you to get too tired. You may be having prodromal labour which is stop start contractions before labour fully begins. 💕
