    thank you for showing a lot more variety than other videos which 90% is only sfc stuff. I really enjoy seeing the soundtracks and guides :D

      My pleasure! I love shopping for soundtracks and guide books, especially when they're so inexpensive, haha. Cheers!

    Great to see you in Nagoya :D Could tell exactly which BOOK OFF this was after a few seconds in. That junk-section is pretty good. I bought a few things from there.
    And I agree with you about focusing on CIB games for SFC. Same here. Also selling my loose carts.
    Bloody Roar: Primal Fury for the Gamecube is definitely the best one. Was my first GC-game ever with the console.

      I should have picked up that copy of Bloody Roar! Haha, next time! And yes, the junk section at this shop is great. Cheers!

    So weird - I was looking at a picture I took of Nagoya castle earlier this year in the same location of your thumbnail photo when I loaded TH-cam and your video came up. The Super Bazaar stores quickly became our favorite for not just video games but I also collect diecast. Other stores have better individual selections but overall the selection at SBs was always seemingly endless. You can get kimonos for as little as 500 yen which is unreal and just about anything else you can think of.

    • @RetroReWire
      @RetroReWire  ปีที่แล้ว

      Very true! The Super Bazaar shops are quite large and stuffed with all sorts of goods. Cheers!

      Haha also, the thumbnail pic, or at least the perspective is quite common. There were loads of people at that exact spot taking the same picture more or less.

    that is a nicely done video... when it comes to bargain, finding stuff for or to add to your collection at thrift stores etc. or this, its just like looking for new and discounted/reduced stuff at donki and OK supermarkets 😅

      @RetroReWire  ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha, at its core, it's the same thing. Thanks for watching, Cheers!

    Appreciate all the new sections you focused on. I am coming in just a week, but only Tokyo. I am sweating how expensive things will be vs other parts of Japan. Seeing a vita here for 13,000 yen, just knowing it's gonna be like 30000 yen in Akiba. 😭

    • @RetroReWire
      @RetroReWire  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exciting! You’ll have an awesome time. And the weather, it’s almost perfect!
      Akiba can still yield some sweet fruit! I’ve seen PS Vita handhelds for a lower price than in this video just last month.
      Just be sure to wear comfy shoes, happy hunting!

      @@RetroReWire a bad but fun game indeed with some interesting item/special moves related mechanics...it resembles a sf the movie game (ps1 or ss) gone a bit bad xD

    JJ, what is the price range you often see a loose copy of Dracula X for sfc?

    • @RetroReWire
      @RetroReWire  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The avg price loose is about ¥6,000 before sales tax. I definitely want to add that game to the collection, cheers!

    I'm planning on getting a Switch Console next year when I visit Japan. I see some of the switch version priced at 16K to 18K around the 24:00 minute mark. What's the difference between those and the one priced at 26K?

    • @RetroReWire
      @RetroReWire  ปีที่แล้ว

      Pricing is determined by model, edition, damage, and missing items. The warranty sometimes comes into play, but that is only valid in Japan. The average price for an OLED model at this place appears to hover around 29k.
      The signs advertising 17k and 26k are the purchase prices if you decide to sell your switch to them. Those prices assume your switch is mint and has no missing items.
      Cheers!

    do you come across often any famicom guide books?

    • @RetroReWire
      @RetroReWire  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do! In fact at this store I scored a Mario Bros 3 guide book for a coupe yen. It was placed in a random section of the junk area. It's a late 80s vintage. I'll feature more vintage guides in an upcoming episode. Cheers!

    Do you think foreigners are upping prices for locals haha

    • @RetroReWire
      @RetroReWire  ปีที่แล้ว

      I feel it’s multiple factors. One being the weakening yen and inflation. There are also more Japanese retro game collectors now. And of course all of us foreigners, haha! Cheers!
