This is where I finally found my Super Scope for ¥1300 in box! I was so excited to finally find it and add it to my little super famicom collection.

8:48 oof, 5,500 seems a bit steep... I paid less than that for one of those SF Memory Cassettes with _Fire Emblem: Thracia 776_ on it, and mine even has the sticker for the game applied to the label. I've got three more of those carts, including one CiB, sitting in the Buyee warehouse right now. 😅 I can backup and rewrite them with my Open Source Cartridge Reader. 😁
16:17 I paid almost 3x that for my copy of _Seiken Densetsu 2,_ but the cartridge is pristine...
29:00 I just refurbished a Slim, specifically an SCPH-70012 which needed an optical deck swap... Now it thinks it's a DTL-H70012. 😁
32:25 Later model SFC. The ones with four rubber feet are all original SHVC mainboards with the modular APU. All later models have two rubber feet and two plastic.
32:49 I want a few of those cases (or the more cassette style ones) so bad, but it's just not cost effective to buy them from overseas, even via proxy...
What exactly constitutes "junk" for a game anyway? Like the cartridge is trashed or something? Cuz those games in the junk section looked fine. 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for sharing. SF memory cassettes price usually depend what is on them but i still dont own one my self id say if i found one for about 3000 yen i would buy one.
Ive been coming across a lot of seiken densetsu 2 cib a lot recently. PS2 slip is one id like to mod in the near future too. As far as junk its what ever the shop owner considers junk i believe. Like they have over stock or something with minimal scratches. as you saw that 20000 yen Neo Geo Cib was also in the "junk" its very possible it works and can be tested before buying.

@@ScruffyLookinRGB I didn't stop after my previous comment and now have....too many SF Memory carts... 😅 The prices on YAJ are pretty good right now; the CiB one was 3,980 and the next most expensive was 3,000...the _other three_ (😅!) were all 2,500 or less. What's on them doesn't particularly concern me, since I can rewrite them. Though any game stickers I can scan for preservation/reproduction purposes is a nice bonus. 😌
Yeah, I totally recommend getting a PS2 Slim! I softmodded mine with MechaPWN and now it's completely region-free for PS2 _and_ PS1 discs. (I think region compatibility is a little more complicated if you start with anything but a US console though.)

In the intro alone and at 5:37, I saw a Hammerin Harry for Game Boy for 1,650 yen, Ebay sellers really rip the hell out of people by charging over $50 for each Game Boy game in that series (the Japanese versions, apparently the west got 1 of them, the first one, Ghost Building Company, but $50 for the JP versions is insanity), the two main ones anyway. This is why at times I really hate buying some games off of Ebay, price gouging this freaking bad, while the game sells for next to nothing in a Japanese game shop.
2:58 That World Heroes Gorgeous for PS2 has a nice cute cover, with the chibi art, the US version did not go with that artstyle, instead inserting pictures of the games covers from the AES versions I believe, with the characters full size. The stunning part, to it's left is Sam Sho Anthology PS2 Japanese version, and World Heroes there is selling for more than Sam Sho, while the opposite is usually true in the US, crazy.
7:47 Phantom Fighter in the US, Reigen Dōshi in Japan.
8:07 Bayou Billy, Mad City in Japan.
8:19, not Athena as she is SNK, Konami Girl. No Druaga guy either as that is Namco, Simon Belmont. ;-)
9:08, you might know that better as Lufia 2.
That PS1 Captain Commando for PS1 is the best port of the game that isn't emulation on a disc (ala Capcom Classics Collection Vol 2, not seen over there in Japan at all), sadly it has been expensive for years now. Capcom didn't do the port themselves, some company called Now Productions did it, and it is actually awesome.
10:07 That is expensive for Metal Slug, in 2010 I bought a copy off someone from Digital Press forums, all of $10.
10:24 Speaking of expensive for an eternity now, Street Fighter Zero 3 Saturn. Great port yes, but I can pretty much play that same version, minus the World Tour and Reverse Dramatic Modes as an unlockable game in SF Alpha Anthology PS2, better known as SF Zero: Fighters Generation in Japan.
The problem with that Game Cube with GB Player on it, without the disc, the GB Player is useless. The disc tends to not be very cheap at all.
13:10 Art of Fighting 2, aka Ryuuko no Ken 2.
13:56 that is a good price for KoF 94, for years that was one of the only ways to play KoF 94 in the home, besides AES cart, and later on KoF 94 Rebout on the PS2.
15:46, no sir, that is the first beat em up, seconds after you picked up the second one, Sailor Moon R, the two Final Fight like games in the series. The Mega Drive has one too, but it is $200+, and not as good as the SFC games as those are co-op, and the MD one is single player only.
18:48 Boktai The Sun is in Your Hands.
19:17 A New Japan Wrestling GB game, interesting. New Japan is Japan's biggest puro wrestling company.
26:20 PS2 King of Fighters Nests Hen, has AES and Dreamcast versions of KoF 99, 2000, and 2001. I have it, I found it was money well spent, though I bought a copy off Amazon a few years back for cheaper. Ran into it and KoF Neowave PS2 years ago locally, yeah I passed on it as it was new then, and $60, while Neowave was also quite new, and $50, so I snagged it, Neowave now sells for more than Nests Hen. Not sure how the hell I ran into two import PS2 games (Initial D PS2 was also there, didn't want it).
I have that GB TMNT game, the only one I don't have is the expensive third game, which plays like a Metroidvania, also from Konami.
As the old saying goes, if it isn't priced, then it must be free! 😄🤣

Hammerin Harry is really good it sucks about the ebay scalpers. Ive recently been getting in to more Gameboy games there are some real gems out there. been getting good use of my Gameboy on my daily train commute so you will probably see me pick up a lot more in the near future. Any not RPG suggestions are welcome. Thanks as always for your Detialed information What is your fav GB games?

@@ScruffyLookinRGB The two Bubble Bobble GB games are my favorites, highly recommend if you can get them on the cheap. Also glad to help with the info of I have it.
The Kirby games and original Donkey Kong are highly recommended on GB if you don't have them. Bionic Commando GB is marvelous too, but pricey as hell in the US, might be cheaper in Japan.

Cool video. A local shop (in the States) has had two Panasonic Q's come through. One was immaculate and sold for about $1,000 (had the box, controller, remote, etc.) The other came in for a repair for the disc drive, which is prone to failure, and the mechanism basically disintegrated in the shop. So they bought it from the customer and now use it as a display item/modded console.
I'm curious, what's either the rarest game that you own or that you've seen in person?

A boxed Qube goes for over $1000 these days. I've been offered one fairly recently but the thing that puts me off is modding it for USA games as I don't have any Japanese games to play on it. I wouldn't want to buy it for $1000 and someone mess it up.

    • @ScruffyLookinRGB
      @ScruffyLookinRGB  ปีที่แล้ว

That would make 88000 yen a good deal then. If the Panasonic Q is similar to other Game Cubes the region switch mod is a very straight forward mod to get dual regions.
