I love sega consoles. I once got given as a child, a entire collection of sega gear, both cd drives, 3 mega drives, a 32x and mastersystem addon and HEAPS of games like an entire collection and it was the only console i'd play. When we had a garage sale my parents sold it all for $100 (2003). It has always been on my mind and as i grew up I'd try buying the same games and systems I'd lost. It has cost me close to $2000 (Aus) and I'm only halfway buying. This comment was written in frustration and is out of context but I hope this comment just stresses the point not to sell your old consoles cos it will cost you many hours of work to get back.
This video seriously couldn't have had better timing for me! My gf asked me if I wanted a Megadrive/Genesis for my retro collection as a bday gift. I asked her to wait unti I did some research on which model to get. Keep it up, guys!
Hope you people ll do similar episode on :- 1. Atari Systems 2. Sega Dreamcast 3. Nintendo Wii 4. Neo Geo Also hope to see collectors guide from you people too. Nice content as always though 🙏
Isn't it strange how it listening to dudes talking about video games eases anxiety? Whenever I have insomnia I put one of these on and it helps my racing mind to calm down.
The Sega Genesis Collection for PS2 was my first experience playing these games ever, having never grown up with them on the actual Genesis console in the 90's and was the first game collection that got me into retro gaming back in the late 2000's.
I also recently played some Genesis games I missed out on and would love to play more. In the past couple years, played through Wonder Boy in Monster Land, Monster World IV, some Streets of Rage 2, and Castlevania Bloodlines. I'd love to check out Contra Hard Corps and Ghosts n Goblins on Genesis.
Emulators my friend. I have entire retro gaming console libraries on my Wii, Android device, original xbox and 3ds xl. A decent PC would due too. There are plenty of roms online to find.
As a kid I didn't get what to do in this game. It wasn't until a year later giving it a try I realized the genius. All aspects. Final fantasy can kiss my ass.
Well Joe, you’re bot the only Space Harrier’s SMS version fan. Here’s another one. One of my favorite SMS games ever. Still play it to this day from time to time.

Annoys me when I see such a EXTENSIVE video as this ..only in that I'd love to have done it myself..only trouble is it wouldn't have been so professional , so fun, so brilliant.. what a great video.
I'd love to eventually get a video on the games that utilise both Sega CD AND 32x. I think there's like 12? All fmvs too! Sometimes i like to imagine sonic mania running as a cd 32x game.
I all gaming technology, but dislike how common failed CD drives are, yet the rest of the console works 100 percent. Because of this, I love digital media solutions such as what you have mentioned.
2:42:10 I had the exact opposite experience with Quartet. I loved the arcade game as a kid but I had an NES. I never knew there was an home version of Quartet until I was an adult and start watching retro game videos on youtube. I bought a cartridge off of ebay as soon as I found out just so I could have a physical copy of one of my favorite childhood games.
It's also funny to me how when I was playing SEGA I was a kid and my parents didn't like the sound anything even remotely violent. So no Shinobi for me! I was playing Sonic and Toejam and Earl, Taz, Thunder Force (spaceship violence was okay). I never played Space Harrier or Golden Axe or Shining Force. Now that I'm almost 40 I have to wonder is it even worth going back and trying to understand all this stuff I missed?
Sega is just the best. Mastering games about platforming, fighting, fork lift driving, light gunning, deep sea fishing, daytona drifting, maraca shaking (!), street thug thrashing, 18 wheeler delivering, Ferrari shifting, graffiti spraying, rally racing, twin stick mech battling, cosmic tennising, after burning - just to name a few. No one other game company had the guts or just sheer cool factor to cover their range.
Video starts, opening notepad on the phone for writing down which games I need to play in future because I didn't known them but saw them in the video ^^.
Every RF modulator should be removed lol. The caps in them seem to go out quick. Been repairing a TG16 with the issue and it happens in NESes and others too. MD2 Component cables are apparently a must too for any retro gamer lol. Great vid guys!

Ow yea, stereo sound from the genesis, I remember it. When I had a genesis back in the 90's, I was into electronic DIY, so I hooked my genesis headphone output to my DIY stereo set. Street Fighter II sounded awesome.
Genesis hardware is fun to tinker with. I no longer have the space for the huge stack of add-ons that it takes though. I wound up selling my setup a few years ago and now use emulators like Hyperkin. It's really interesting stuff for a hardware geek like me to tinker with though. I kinda miss it at times.
To me, Alys was always "Alysa" - it was obvious to me that the Phantasy Star developers had to use 4 characters for names due to hardware constraints and that proved challenging in the localization. They probably struggled with renaming her "Lisa" since it would fit in the limited space they had but they stuck with "Alys" and hoped we'd pronounce it "ah-leece" ...
Ooh will this be HDMI modded Genesis. Oh wait, a new product that will allow any Megadrive (including Wondermega) to play 3D Master System games, yes the 3D stuff.
I used to wake up early in the morning. Collect my allowance at the door. Feed a stray cat at the shrine. Say hi, to my girlfriend as I passed by her place of employment at the flower shop. Finally reaching my destination, You Arcade. Where I blew that entire allowance on Space Harrier.
Funny that you draw the comparison, because I feel like Panzer Dragoon was a better spiritual successor to Space Harrier than Planet Harrier or the PS2 remake. It feels like a more natural expansion of the gameplay than just tacking a targeting gimmick onto something that otherwise plays just like the 80s arcade game.
