I just ordered that trigger and the 20lb stainless steel guide rod from Galloway. Looking forward to install them and try them out. I really like this gun. I put the HiViz sights on it a few weeks ago.
@@MrVonkliest i like the senchal trigger from galloway. Seems to have a shorter pull than the stock trigger. Have almost 1K rounds through the pistol with senchal trigger.
Had mine for about 3 years, 1700+ rounds. Have never had any issues with stock parts, no failures. Still looks about like it did when I bought it new. Don't see much point in changing out parts when there's nothing wrong with what I have. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I love my security 9. When I first got it I found the ridge they have around the magazine release a bit sharp. I took a small file and tapered the top edges to take off that edge.
I love my Security 9, too, which has the same upgrades. It is an excellent firearm, especially considering the price.For a smaller concealed carry option, I use the Ruger EC9S with extended-grip magazines. Also a very nice firearm. Thanks for the video.👍👍
I love my compact put about 300 dollars of upgrades on mine she a beauty good thing about my compact is that I can use 17 round clip from regular size..!!

The Ruger is basically a Glock 19 Gen 5.. I have both.. Somethings are better on the Glock, others are better on Ruger.. I love that sight hole to see chambered rounds on the Ruger.. Wish my Glock had it.. I wish the Security 9 had a higher quality finish on the slide.. Both are 5 star handguns.. Security 9 was my first handgun.. Size, weight, looks are pretty close..
Outlaw GT I agree 100%..somethings are better, depending on which one ya go with. Ruger security 9, IMO, certainly works for the budget minded that wants a glock! Put about 250 rounds down and it’s amazing
Tactical Bartender Better all metal mags on the Ruger too.. I personally think the Ruger is better then the Springfields and S&Ws.. The only thing that separates them is the finish on the slide.. I like Glocks so therefore I like the Security 9mm.. They just came out with a baby Security 9mm.. Its a 10 rounder.. That might be my next gun.. Its more of a pocket pistol which I need..

chris settles I got some traction grips for my pf9 (vid uploaded the other day) and thought about getting some talon ones for this security..but I love the grip as is! So comfortable. Love it more than my old Glock 19 and shoots very well! Love the trigger more also!

my son bought a new one when they first came out for like $300 out the door. I wasn’t expecting much but was pretty impressed with it after shootin it. My pistols are all much more expensive that the Sec 9 BTW.

I'm pretty new to this. I went to the website you mentioned for the stainless steel guide rod instead of the polymer one that comes wth it. What spring rate did you choose? I'm not sure what the rate is for the stock one so don't know which one is comparable.
Yea, I’d say so. Of course that also depends on your comfortability and a good holster as well. You definitely don’t wanna be in a position where you need to use your firearm and it’s not ready. Bad guys aren’t gonna wait for you to rack a round. Practice practice practice. Can’t say that enough

ceeo20357 yeah I seen that when I got it, but didn’t see a screw! Guess it fell somewhere. It’s gotta be the tiniest screw ever. It did click into place pretty well though and I haven’t had an issue running it.
Tactical Bartender I’ve heard people say that it’s a defect and to send them back to ruger if that happens, however is sounds like you have to be a little deliberate and honestly it seems more like a feature to me.
Love my security 9 as well just be careful with the 2 plus upgrade......i live in NH and My state, Vt to the west and Me to the east ALL have Constitutional Carry , but Vermont has a 15 round Max, so when i go to vermont i either have all 15 in the magazine and empty chamber or 14 in the mag and 1 in the pipe

@@CjGrigsby yes, they “double stack” next to each other kind of at the corner. Single stack is literally one on top of the other. If you have a ruger security 9 and it’s a single stack, you don’t own a security 9.

You should always keep your box, especially if you ever plan on selling or trading. Shops seem to care about that a lot. Even the cardboard boxes.

I would not be using my magazine as a tool to pull out the takedown pin. You can literally use anything else
Yet it works fine. Ruger states that they designed it for that and I've done it for two years with no issues.
If you use the tip of a pen on the reverse side of the take down pin it works as well when the slide is pulled back slightly.
It says in small print on the left side of the gun that it will fire without a clip

I can only speak from experience with mine and it’s still used in my firearm and used at the shooting range Almost 4 years later

GeeZee honestly I don’t recall having to choose a spring rate. They only had one option for a stainless steel guide rod.

Lock the slide back for 24 hrs and that will loosen the spring.

Single stack are the thinner magazines. Each round is directly over the next. Double are stacked off to the side of each other.
