      I finally bought a Seiko King Turtle, and its my first and probably the last automatic watch. Had a Casio G-shock that my dad bought in 1991 had it till 2011 until it died. I bought the same year a Suunto Core all black to have in on the SF OTC (they allowed us a watch with an altimeter). Took this Suunto around the world on combat deployments, mountains, desert, oceans, jungles and is for me personally the best watch I ever owned. Had to open it couple of times to clean the buttons because they got stuck (African fine sand), but it’s still waterproof and works great. In 2021 the original plastic watch bands got worn out so since then I replaced them two times with Chinese copies… Also carried G 19 for personal protection 24/7 for years and is a pistol I trust my life with. Hehehe also owned a Toyota Land Cruiser diesel and had it running on cooking oil hehehe. Stay safe and God bless!

    There's such beauty in a person who cherishes one thing they have in particular and has spent massive amounts of time with it. Someone's carry gun is as good an example as any, and if it's going to only be one gun for over a decade at a time, it might as well be a Glock.

    I like the words than came out from this man. I am 67 years old and have been a gunowner since 1993. I am lucky enough to own multiple guns from multiple brands(HK, Sig, SW, SA, CZ, Beretta, Glock, Browning....). If I am only limited to one gun, I would choose to have my Glock 19 Gen 5. It is simple to operate, reliable, light enough to carry, heavy enough to be my house gun, parts are readily available, has a track record to back it up. It is not the most accurate gun that I have, it is not the most expensive gun I have, it does not have the bling factor. But it is the most practical gun to have if I can only have one.

    Excellent video, thanks for it. I’m early in my firearms/self-defense journey. And I’m tired of the constant pressure to buy the latest wonder gun. Videos like this give me inspiration to commit to one gun that works for me and to forget the rest. Comes down to the 43X and G26, both excellent in their own ways and I struggle to decide which i should dedicate my time and money and energy to mastery.

    • @PhotoCaptured
      @PhotoCaptured  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @chasedooley6237 glad to have made a positive confirmation for you, I appreciate the nod.
      I can't tell you what's going to be right for your use case. It's quite personal, and you're the one that needs to like the end result.
      Personally, I'd choose the Glock 26, which I do keep around because I got a really good deal on it.
      In my hands, the slimline 43 series offerings are just not a good choice, and weren't available back when I got my G26 10yrs ago.
      The overall design of the G26 tends to be much easier for me to manage recoil, and get a firm grip on in general.
      I appreciate the magazine flexibility, while also having a pistol that is reasonable for my body size and pants to pocket carry.
      A 43x just isn't going in a pocket, and the slimline design is obnoxious for me to keep on target well.
      Always, always, try and rent a piece so you can really work with it, and make a determination that's good for you.
      The recoil on a 43x isn't bad by any means, but I find it to be punchier than the G26 due to the narrow frame. This matters when it comes to personal preference, but also when managing follow-up on target.
      The G26 is essentially 100% with a 30yr track record, a plethora of aftermarket support, and considerably more consistent with whatever ammo you feed it.
      The 43x can be modded, Shield Arms magazines, and all sorts of extras...
      Cool.
      The G26 is designed from the get-go to work with all double stack 9mm Glock mags, and does so perfectly. That reliability cannot be said for S15 mags.
      Get a really good G19 holster like the Tenicor Velo4 and use it for the G26, that thing will disappear on pretty much anyone.
      That's my input, and I hope it helps you well!
      Cheers and best wishes on making your choice.

      @@PhotoCaptured Appreciate the response! I already own both, but I agree with you about them. I like my 43X because of how it feels in my hand, very natural, and it’s really light and comfortable to carry. I’m also really fast out of concealment with it, draw to first shot in just less than a second. But my 26 shoots so much better, more versatile, more concealable. I have a Certum 3 for my 19 that I haven’t tried with my 26; I will though! Thanks again, be safe and train hard!

I have tried other guns for carry, including the M&P Compact 2.0 but the thicker Glock grip feels so good it’s like it was made for me. I've devolved a bit and gone 1911 because it works a little better for me in a couple of ways; it solves some pet peeves I have with most handguns and how they fit and function in my hands, but the G19, especially the Gen 4 like you have, is a fantastic pistol. I might buy another one.

    Can't go wrong with a G19 or any Glock. I almost bought one last week. Instead, I picked the PSA Dagger Micro and fell in love with it. I'm a big fan of PSA, having owned one of their ARs for a while now. I'm excited to have a pistol modeled after a Glock, that still gives me a 15-round capacity, in a slightly smaller size more suited to my body-type, for a price that allowed me to pick up extra mags, a red-dot, holster and some other accessories, for less than the price of the Glock. Hoping you get at least another 14 years out of your 19! Cheers!

      Great piece, but I see no good reason to carry it much. Like you, I don't find that it brings me any benefits, and the increase in size just means more effort to conceal.
      I do prefer the G17 mags if I'm going to carry a spare because they index much easier for me.
      The shorter G19 mags can be funky to manipulate with my hands getting in the way...

    I can see some dead skin rubbing on that grip. Meaning is being carried everyday. Well done. Looks just like mines. 💯

    Nice! Now you can get a CAA MCK with a 16 inch barrel for the Glock 19.
    I might get a G19 here in CA but frame work would be needed because all stock Glocks are uncomfortable for my hands.

    Great vid, I have few guns but carry two. Become proficient with your carry. I run mostly cz not as many rounds as you just a few thousand each. Probably buy another as a spare. Not a fan of the grip angle on Glock though I have carried one for a time. They are simple.

    Nice. Unless you live somewhere really dangerous carrying mags is excessive burden. I keep it simple 22lr 8 shot snubby 43c model. It’s just so easy pocket carry or AIWB. Also carry 8 shot snubby IWB 357mag 327PC
    If you want to carry mags highly recommend Vertx EDC jeans defiance model. Most of us will never need to shoot our gun. It’s an insurance policy.

    Eloquent and well presented video on the G19 :) The wear on that slide after 14 years is beautiful and that round count is impressive! I am absolutely inspired by your journey with it. It's easy to always want the newest/shiniest thing, instead of sticking with ol' reliable. I've had and carried my Gen 4 for about 5 years. Basically the same setup as yours with the magpul magwell, but in FDE and I attached a TLR 7 flex. Is there a particular reason why you don't add a weapon mounted light?

      @CheJoffre thank you!
      I have several WML offerings from Streamlight, but I find them much more useful on a rifle or shotgun.
      In the EDC role, I much prefer a little extra comfort and the guarantee that I will always carry it. There are times that clothing or work allows for me to pull it off and not feel like I'm getting jabbed all day.
      The handheld high power lights are much preferred in my use case, and I can very effectively make hits while manipulating the light with my other hand.
      Yes, there are certainly some downsides, but I ALWAYS have a light on me when I'm out and about. Usually a I have a Pro-Tac 2L-X or Cloud EDC on me 👌

      @CheJoffre much appreciated ✌️
      I don't "script" myself, so it really comes down to what quality content I can focus on.
      Not so much in relevance sake, but being up front and clear for some who don't want to be bombarded by the long timers.
      There are a number of great guys who have put out impressive content, and I'll leave them to their skill area. I'm hoping to keep things fresh and generally focus on long-term use. The new and shiny isn't necessarily going to be a thing on my channel. Nothing against it, I'm just a tried and true sort, so I'll stay in my lane.

      @PhotoCaptured  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @NubsDaShooter be safe, train well, and remember that at the end of the day - getting home and never using it - is the best life.
      Don't be afraid to try out things, and see what you like; there are lots of great options, and I have a few that I've kept.
      They just don't get carried much for one reason or another - usually capacity, weight, and, most importantly, reliability.

    Less lethal option is Pom small pepper spray. Sometimes that’s all you need - some hot sauce.
