I do recommend, it’s a pretty handy unit, I hear leather workers use it a lot for prototyping, to not waste time cutting and re-cutting leather. I’m excited about the branding capabilities! :)

Very cool! At first thought you got a 3D printer...my son has 4 of those things running almost 24/7 in our house, printing helmets and armour pieces for Star Wars, Halo and other cosplay customers. Imagine the possibilities...hmmm.🤔

amazing what technology can produce. I think it gives a new appreciation of skilled handcrafted
work, that doesn’t take advantage of modern machine precision, but just the handwork of a craftsperson.
There’s just something special about handcrafted stuff.

OMG! You've gone all high-tech on us (in a seriously productive way.) I applaud you! A friend of mine does one-off screen prints (up to four colours) on fabric. The washing of the screens took forever. When she got a power-washer, it saved a huge amount of time which was then freed up for her creative pursuits. This laser engraving and cutting machine expands your options SO MUCH! Great!
I love watching people screen print!!! 👌🏼 so pretty and satisfying!!! If I had the time it’s something I’d want to learn! And thanks it’s a pretty cool unit… I’m sure I’ll find some good uses for it! :)

Be careful that you're not cutting chrome tanned leather. You could end up having cyanide gas in your house and that would make for a bad day.
These lasers seriously need a way to extract fumes, because so many items you would want to cut create fumes that are bad for you. I'd build an enclosure and vent it out the window.
Hey Don, I’ve only used it on veg tan so far… and I’m looking into purchasing an enclosure for it.. your right it sure gets stinky!

I love using my engraver for leather, it works GREAT.. but the smell... still worth it the results are fantastic.
Yes the smell is… a lot! Haha need to figure that out still :p I do love it tho :)
Good move on the safety glasses! I worked with REALLLY big lasers for years and those are VERY important! When you buy new ones make sure they are rated for the wave length that you work with!!!! Rock on, Girl! Love your channel!

@@freakofnatureco The glasses should be fine. Shouldn't be a problem. It's just if you ever need new ones. The laser wavelength should be printed on a plaque on the machine. It will likely be in nanometers. (for instance, I used a lot of 480 nm lasers) 532nm seems to be common for cutters. Just get classes for the wavelength/s of your machine whenever you need to buy new ones some day.

Great video as always. I have the Non Pro version of your Diode Laser. I will really recommend you using a different set of safety glasses than the ones that came with the machine. Ones that will protect your beautiful green eyes ☺️ from the wavelength that your laser produces. I sometimes use masking tape on the leather when engraving and after engraving my design and before peeling the tape left, I eill spray it with acrylic leather paint for different color engravings 😉 . Tha might be something you wanna try.

Haha I may or may not have done that on purpose 😉 lol… and honestly not that long, the laser came with some suggestions for settings depending the material so I started with that and it didn’t take long to find the settings I was happy with. :) and thanks so much ☺️

These cheap laser cutters are not safe. A proper laser cutter needs to be sealed and vented to outdoors because the burnt products from engraving are very toxic and carcinogenic.
I did realize that very quickly… I’ll be acquiring a better setup for the next time I use it!

Curious- the laser cutter is very interesting and looked fairly easy to use. Would you recommend it to others?
I actually would. full disclosure this was send to me to review, and I refused to review it but told them id showcase it. and honestly I wasn't disappointed for the price, it did exactly what its suppose to and was very easy to use, and that's coming from someone who's not techy ..at all! you can definitely get better but the price would be steeper. for any hobbyist or small biz, its perfect.

How hard is it to program?
Ridiculously easy… I’m horrible with tech, and with the help of the manual and Orturs TH-cam videos, I was able to assemble it in less then an hour 👌🏼
