Does this use any Logitech MX Hardware, the way it's set up looks very similar to a Master MX mouse. Like the on-off switch looks absolutely the same, even the interface and functionality of the software looks very similar.

Looks great. Is it likely HP paid Logitech to rejig/licence this mouse, which looks like an MX master. Nothing wrong with that the MX is a great mouse.
Not that smooth cursor movement in Bluetooth mode, the scroll is too slow and rolls too freely, so if you release your finger it might scroll back, no driver to customize it, cannot pair the matching keyboard (HP 970) to the same dongle, hard to press the buttons (especially the right one). Would be so nice, too bad no one tried it in real life before releasing it.
is it possible to make a control key oprable by customising one of the 3 buttonswith a either control button or shift button coz as into digital marketing we need to press either of two o both buttons while working on PC and as my left hand is paralysed pls guide me
i have the same issue! when i try to connect it just opens my bluetooth settings even though its already connected :( weird program i cant even customise anything now

No, Fn keys, Esc, =, PgUp/Home/etc, backspace, etc. but no Ctrl, Shift, Alt.
Actually, you can, I only looked in the Commands, but there's a Keystroke section.
