On the last product, kevlar actually isnt cut resistant at all. It's actually just very strong against pulling apart, so the real test would've been to pull the wire and see if it snaps. That's why it's used in bulletproof vests too, because when it's woven into a fabric it wont stretch out of the way of the bullet. But while bulletproof vests are made with kevlar, stab vests aren't.
Tip for future "testing" on foreign tech: check the power consumption of the item you're plugging to your step-down transformer. You guys plugged a 1200W popcorn machine into a 500W transformer. The fact that the transformer didn't pop a fuse is a clear sign that it's not a safe transformer. And the popcorn machine was certainly not being fed the correct voltage and current it needed to work. It could be the cause for it working so bad.

@@omonighoprogressoghenetejiriHe was using an American 120volt appliance 60hz or 50hz. I believe where he lives is 240v standard, so he needs a step down transformer to half the voltage. If the step down transformer is not designed with a 15 amp 120v load. Then it will not operate correctly.

My guy, those exact kind of popcorn makers have been around since about 1970. We had one in my house as a little kid. They're an American thing because our power mains deliver higher power, so your problems happened because you were definitely burning out your transformer. Kind of wild that something so basic eludes one of the most popular tech youtubers.

9 times out of 10 theyre just promoting. Theyre not Steve Jobs for a reason…
They don't make them at all. At best, they loan their name/brand to the products. Doing that usually costs a bit so the product costs more than it should or is very cheaply made. Often enough, they bless you by combining those features.

My routine at the gym the day after WVFRM drops is to put on their podcast and now I haven't listened to it in weeks because the response they had to the Panels criticism left such a sour taste.
Let's get things straight. These celebrities didn't "make" anything. They've simply endorsed these products and had their names slapped on them. I some cases they had a creative vision and input, but some product designers actually made these products.
I think the T-Pain one deserved at least an 8. It appears to be some kind of kids toy and looks like fun to use and makes autotune very accessible. Very underrated imo
Considering how much he was enjoying using it, I also think it should've scored a bit higher

If you're ever curious about TPain, no he did not do the AutoTune effect in order to "be able to sing", he did it as a creative choice to stand out from everyone else because he believed he needed it when he started...you can go on his stream, or MANY videos of him singing in public and see he's BEYOND talented. Literally his War Pigs rendition was crazy that you'd never think "the autotune guy" would be able to hit notes like that.

You can't just plug the popcorn maker into a tiny 110v transformer and expect it to work. It looked like you were overloading the transformer - but while the power rating is one thing, one must also consider 50hz vs 60z as this device has an AC motor in it.
Why did you need to use a transformer for the plug in products? Was there not an option for the right voltage? For the popcorn machine for example I belive the product needs a wattage output higher than the transformer supports and therefore the smoke and the poor popcorn experience.
Different plug type. They're in the UK (I think), but that product had an American one.

@@janemary8339 nah his hair dryer would've overloaded that as well. Microwave, air fryer etc. too. Basically anything that produces heat uses 1000w upwards, no matter where you are.
I guess the transformer is because it's not a native product to his country so his outlet didn't work. But it was severely underpowered for what he was trying to do, and since it started smoking it didn't seem all that safe, too.

I have a similar popcorn maker from the 70's it still works and it keeps the butter in the plastic cup.
What I really like from this guy is the humour het brings in to, together with the editing and also the little things like the cat that jumps of the bed and more of those small details that makes it very easy to watch. They don't (the whole team) take them self to seriously, and that is something I appreciate.

I have a Stem Player (bought second-hand) and it's really cool, but it in no way separates the stems in real time and the device contains no "AI" at all. The AI splitting is done via the website and the player itself is essentially hardware DRM for splitting tracks via the website... which now requires payment for splitting more tracks than their arbitrary timed limit.

I loved my LG phone with a replaceable battery for years until I couldn't get a new motherboard for it. There's a workaround for that: Get a case with a backup battery. Rely on the backup battery as the internal battery goes weak. The case with battery is only about $30, so it's easily replaceable after it gets weak. I keep a spare as well.
