Spearfishing in Ontario is super illegal everywhere Unfortunately. Think there is actually laws about not having a spear gun within a certain distance of the water

Very interesting. I have only seen one pike swimming in mid water here in lake Ontario. All the rest were buried under a thin camouflaged layer of sand. I guess the fish traffic rules may be different in Sask ;)

It's a smaller lake here in Central Saskatchewan! The actual name and specific location are matters of national security ;)

Hey spearo from quebec here, curious about moving to sask, is the spearfishing worth it? How is life there? If I want to have spearfishing and IT jobs nearby where would you suggest I move to?

Sask is a great place to live as long as you love wide open spaces and are willing to do a bit of driving to find adventures! As for IT jobs, you're likely looking at heading to Regina or Saskatoon. Saskatoon being the nicer of the two and the closer one to any of the spearfishing lakes. Expect to drive 1.5+ hours if you want to go spearing at more than one lake. The summer heat really ruins the vis on some lakes with the algea growth so the spearing 'season' is a bit short. For example, I went to the lake in the video yesterday and only had about 5-7' of visibility

Do you ever use those little scuba tanks? Also if you ever need a buddy to go with i’d be down, been wanting to try this in Alberta

In Saskatchewan and I believe all of Canada, spearfishing has to be done on breath hold/snorkeling!

@@jordanfehr6713 no, in Quebec scuba is allowed.

I'm using a 7mm salvimar NAT. Even with water that's only 5c, it keeps me nice and warm!!
