Freshwater Spearfishing: Carp and Suckers

Spearfishing the lower side of the creek for carp and suckers.

Awesome video! I have been spearfishing for decades and have gone in both oceans as well as many freshwater lakes. I have only gotten into streams a couple of times but never one that was as clear as this one. What country is this in?

@ronn68 carp and suckers are non game fish and don’t have to be ate. Carp are also very invasive in the area taking up food from our native fish. I would give every fish I shoot to someone if I knew they would take it!

I shoot carp all the time and I aim for the middle! It’s the best way to make sure you get them and not just wound them.

@Brain Thompson. Carp are invasive species that have ruined a lot of habitat for our native fish. The sucker are native but are none game fish or rough fish. Fish and game have even said that the sucker population is way over populated. I would give these fish away to people if anyone in the area would eat them!

Plenty of need. They’re extremely invasive and damaging to the ecosystem and native fish populations.
