You all have to admit, Beyond The Mask is one of the least toxic fans/content creators for Scream.

I agree very much. I had a different opinion of an ogre who makes videos about scary movies and all I did was disagree with his opinion and him and his weird friends starting bashing me and sexually harassing me. It was the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen.

Really great show, up until the third season, where they completely dropped Joe Carroll's serial killer cult storyline and focused on one really uninteresting serial killer and his sister and family.
It's funny that Kevin says Wes doesn't want to do more films and then did the 4th.
I also think it would have been super meta if they had decided to make the director of the Stab film in 3, Wes Craven

I definitely think it sounds better. I liked Scream 3 originally but on a recent rewatch I was disappointed at how silly it was. Certain parts were really good but there is too much comedy in it in my opinion. Also curious if you could get your hands on the role Stu played in the original draft. I’d love to know that.

I liked Scream 3 and felt it gave a nice conclusion. The comedy and sillyness didnt bother me at all. However it's strange to think that the culture of Hollywood, especially the whole Harvey Weinstein angle was any less horrific then what Kevin originally planned. Everyone in hollywood knew about Harvey, wasn't a secret which makes it more creepy when looking back at it now.
couldn't get that thought out of my head during the maureen prescott scenes, this movie actually aged really well and has become much darker with time. i did find the jay and silent bob crap unnecessary though, even if stu had clerks in the original

Scream 5 and 6 have corny writing, but Scream 3 has bad writing from a structural stand point. If you think about how Scream 1 and 2 had very purposeful openings that were meta and designed to impact the audience, Scream 3's opening was really just to introduce the concept of the voice changer. It was just to kill an existing character we know because the opening needs to have kills, then to show us that this Ghostface can use everyone's voices. Same thing with the whole Maureen plot line, it's literally a retconn so they can create some shocking twist at the end by revealing Sidney has a brother. But that writing too destroys the whole "who dunit?" concept of the franchise. You should be be getting clues to who the killer is along the way.

I've heard of this draft I think and the killers turn out to be two people you least expect...(the accomplice only appeared in Scream 3 and was referenced in 5&6. The main killer is someone who had a pivotal role in Scream 96 and a cameo in Scream 3).

First Mr BTM you have the most soothing interesting voice! Williamson had good ideas for 3. But it's hard to judge without a full script/Story. Ideas can sound good but until there's an actual movie it's a whole other situation.
Matthew Lillard is great in his performance as Stu Macher. But what if somewhere down the line they have a new movie with Stu but he appears as the Opening Scene Victim?? That would certainly be something different that could be epic if handled properly.
Scream 3 was one of my favorites. They gave you a little taste of how movies are made. And me wanting to be a director it was amazing.

Makes me wish the studio held off on making Scream 3 for a few years to let the controversy die down, what would’ve been cool is if they waited a few years and have it come out in 2006, I feel like adding in 10th anniversary element into would’ve made even more cooler and if they still had the reveal that Stu was still alive but in prison planning for almost a decade to get his revenge
Dude no studio is gonna let one of their hottest IPs cool off for 10 years, unrealistic. Could easily just set the film in the year 2006

Quick question. Did Billy factor Stu into his plan when he killed Maureen Prescot? Or do you think he bought Stu in after he killed her while he was planning the events of the first scream movie. I guess since Stu killed Casey he would have been part of it during the planning phase but do you think Stu was factored in before the Maureen murder or sometime after.
I believe he got Stu involved in case their plan to kill Maureen backfired so he could frame him incase framing Cotton didn't work. In 3 Roman states that he had no idea about their future killing spree or has he puts it that "they were going to make a movie of their own."
Billy says something like "Congratulations, we killed her exactly one year ago today." So Stu was definitely part of Maureen's murder.

The "Stab" set visit was the ONLY scene I liked in "Scream 3." The only one. No magic voice changers that can embody someone's unique cadences and tone. No Cotton stuck on a freeway that's actually a two-lane road between a park. No contradiction of the "Stab 3" being some subpar movie but then all the actors starring in it are supposed to be modern stars like Ben Affleck, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and the director starts murdering these movie stars off to get revenge on his mother for giving more attention to her his sister. As if being a huge director who was hired to direct a movie that stars Ben Affleck, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt wouldn't be enough of a revenge arc... he has to also murder those movie stars. Then retooling the first movie to say it was Roman's idea to make Billy go on a killing spree which mitigates the power of the first film; plus this whole retcon of "Sidney, your mom WAS a slut but only because she was pursued on a casting couch so it's the film producer's fault." And having Sidney dream about her as a ghost and then, in real life, having that ghost show up even though the person pretending to be her would not know about the dream.
So it figures the one good scene was actually dreamed up by Kevin.

I like the way Scream 3 turned out although a Kevin Williamson treatment would be amazing. I liked the humor and the Hollywood backdrop as something different from Woodsboro, but I suspect Kevin’s effort would be far gorier than what we got.
I like the idea of Roman, the back and forth between Sid and Roman is my favourite post reveal after the 1st movie, but I think the execution is bad. I like that it comes full circle back around to Maureen, it started with her and it ends with her too. I don't care for the slap stick, Scrooby Doo scenes and I wish the deaths had been more brutal. Scream 3 is the weakest, but it's still watchable. I like Kevin William's cult idea, but I'm not crazy about Stu returning. I definitely don't want him to return now as it's been way too long and it wouldn't make sense for him to still be alive without anyone knowing.
should have been the cult of stu where maybe you see him in flashbacks but not actually alive. i understand why kevin gave stu and billy definite deaths in scream as to avoid the cliche of killers coming back but i feel that stus death should have been more left uncertain as to allow his return. the original killers were so good and have stood the test of time as the best in the franchise that i understand why fans want their "return" in some shape or form. at least they managed to do it for billy in scream 5
Since the initial release of 'Scream 3', I've often wondered what became of Kevin's initial story; it's somewhat surprising that we still don't have a real clear perspective all these years later. I do distinctly remember coming across an interview where Kevin described his version as 'April Fool's Day' meets the Stab 3 plotline that was still somewhat prominent in the finished product. Personally, I think that sounds downright awful. But I guess I'm in the minority -- apart from some aspects, I like 'Scream 3.' I think it was a tad formulaic in some ways, but I felt satisfied with it's conclusion. The more I learn about Kevin's take, the more I wonder whether I would have enjoyed it.
He just meant that the killers had faked their deaths in the third act the same way Billy did.

Oh I’m sure Kevin’s Script would have been Better then the SCREAM 3 we got… I’m still Happy with the one we got though and that Roman became te Best Ghostface!!! 🤣🤣🤣 But it does Suck he didn’t get to Complete it the right way.

This shows that the studio is to blame 90% of the time for shitty movies. This is why Spiderman 3 was a flop; fucking Sony wanted to put Vemon while Sam Raimi was against it (SMFH)

I remember that first draft of Eren Krueger’s script, where the opening kills were a guy named Freddie and his girlfriend Christine. And at one point she jokes saying « no, it’s Jennifer Love Hewitt »… I think they should’ve picked JLH and Freddie Prinze, for the roles. See the star couple of the second most popular 90s slasher franchise, thanks to the first Scream movie’s success, die at the start of the new Scream movie at the time, would’ve been insanely meta.

It's crazy they mentioned that in the film before an after the house blew up that there were different versions of the film.
The final scene should have been Sid in the kitchen of the house, the other ghostface(s) already revealed. Then walking around the corner in full ghostface costume and you just hear surprise Sidney (as mask comes off) revealing Stu. And then iconic scream slash and title screen, roll credits setting up scream 4.
Scream 3 is definitely the weakest entry in the series from my point of view
