It's a crime against the Scream fandom that Kevin didn't get to make his version of Scream 4.
We were robbed!
Kevin should have made all the movies the way he saw them in his head if you ask me. I hate studio and fan interference in any art from film and TV to books.
Hard to say. Jill's one of my favorite killers wanted more from her before the reveal but her performance after the reveal was epic so didn't ruin the character for me, and like what we got from Kirby out of it so close call
I loved scream 4, but after Jill's reveal, she came off as really annoying and bratty, and it ruined the ending for me
I always thought they should've let Jill survive and had Sidney lose her memory. Then in Scream 5 we could've seen a new killer go after Jill because they knew what she did. They could've gone in so many different directions. I would've loved to see what Scream 5 and 6 would've been like if they were direct sequels to 4.
@@kj686 I liked that about her because she had everyone fooled even her close friends and family she had all that bottled in for years then finally snapped it's like her personality completely changed that's why I think she's one of the more interesting killers
@@ScottBill28 that would of been real cool seeing Syd slowly getting her memory back while trying to save Jill. And would of been cool seeing how she'd react to Kirby surviving since she wanted to be the sole survivor
@@danderson601 I remember when the movie came out and I really bought into the marketing strategy about how they were going to use the original characters for back drop in order to establish this new cast with Jill Roberts set up as the new Sidney. So I was actually shocked at her reveal in the end. Would have been a cool spin if the sequel had Jill continuing as Ghostface to further her final girl fame, with Sidney slowly getting her memory back for a big showdown at the end.
I like both versions, but I truly hope we could’ve got the alternate storyline where Jill survives and becomes the victim
And followed by new killer, I mean killer vs killer , I would love that to happen while Sidney is having amnesia

I kind of like what we got because the reveal was shocking to the audience, but then also made them go, “Well, come to think of it, she wasn’t around a lot…”
Imagine Nina portraying Jill with Elena vibes and THEN switching into Katherine like she wouldve ate that knowing Nina can literally portray 2 characters with very distinct personalities.

She’s beautiful, but her acting is pretty much made for bad television. Dont get me wrong, I like a lot of bad tv, snd I’ve liked Dobrev in stuff.
I’d definitely rather have seen her than Emma Roberts, who I just don’t understand why people think she’s a great actress.
I’m not the biggest Scream fan, not of the sequels. Even though I knew what was happening, from Sydney’s first attack, as far as the fact there was going to be multiple killers and who they were, it was done expertly, and was a fun movie.
Sequels? No.
I knew that the actress from Roseanne was going to be behind that story, just based on the casting, snd her little screen time. There’s more to see it, but it’s just not written as well.
Scream 4 has a good concept, but it’s terribly written, snd I just was never surprised or having fun.

@@CorbCorbinNina LITERALLY portrayed a psychotic manipulative villain in TVD and everyone loved it and she literally gave a charisma to the character FAR than the original main protagonist which she HERSELF portrayed too what are you talking about 😭😭😭

I really think if they reboot the series, it should open with a recasted Jill (or if they got Emma, that would be huge) surviving the end of the 4. Jill goes to jail until present day when she is let out because of some like legal technicality/retrial. When she is released it is a media frenzy, Twitter stan culture is hyping her up. she's famous in the way she wanted. It could open up the cult of ghostface storyline. It could open up whether a killer is redeemable or not, whether Jill will kill again or potentially become a "good guy." I really think it was a mistake to kill Jill.
Scream 4 was really ahead of its time. Would have killed in today's movie society

I would of loved this version of Jill, but also love the version we got by Emma Roberts.
I love Scream 4. One of the best Scream movies. The twist was really shocking to me.

@@arielperez3613 its lame and way too over the top to be intense or taken seriously. The killer was in there 30 seconds and had time to remove all her intestines and have blood sprayed all over every inch of her room lol please with that spoof type of scene
I actually think, if Scream 4 had been made in the early to mid 2000's then Thora Birch would've been an awesome choice for Jill. Don't believe me just watch her performance in 'The Hole' (2001 film). Same as her co-star in that film Desmond Harrington, would've been great as Charlie.

Would of been way better if jill was so messed up , that she herself didn't even know ow she was the killer and the end of the 3rd act . Ghostface chases her into a closet . Then she comes out and finds all the bodies and then sees herself in a mirror holding the bloody knife !

Scream 4 was amazing. There was a third killer and it would have been epic to see the trilogy. I can see where they got 6 idea from now. It’s weird 5 and 6 are nothing compared to what Kevin had in mind for the original trilogy. It sucks he keeps coming back to give us what we want but the studios change it. It sucks
The killer would have been Kirby In 5 I'm almost positive.
I will say I have no doubt Kevin's new trilogy would have been light years better than what 2022 and 6 did!
Jenna Ortega's overacting in the first scene where she's talking to the killer/Ghost Face still plays over in my head and not in a good way either. Then the whole retconning of a certain character really killed the whole new trilogy for me as a whole.

Y don't you do a video on the scream 2 extra violent cut? It's the version tht existed to submit to the mpaa, I saw it once in 1999 but it doesn't exist anymore anywhere Patrick Lussier told me he no longer has the tapes. I think it's a better cut

It's Hard to Believe that the last SCREAM Kevin had a GRASP of was SCREAM 2.
My SCREAM 4 DVD does still say Written by Kevin Williamson though. I'm sure I missed it, but how and Why did Ehren Kruger change this way about Jill.
That's why Krueger had a producer title.

Jill is absolutely a female Billy, and Billy was more reserved in the original Scream.
This alerternative scream 4 would have been a lot better. Don’t get me wrong, scream 4 was good, just this other version would have become a lot better. However, I do think scream 4 didn’t live up to the potential it stated for the upcoming new generation because, all of the new teens were killed off. Scream 5 introduced a new setup and kept it going with the original cast taking a back seat.
So, they went with a version closer to the real personality of the actress...
I like both versions, we now have the Carpenter sisters which totally fullfill the original version of Jill, who could turn to evil in the third part of the reboot... But I guess we'll never know now!!!
If this version would have changed the Kirby we got, in any way, I’m glad we didn’t get it. I wouldn’t trade Kirby for anything.
Imagine if Kirby , Jill and Charlie as the new trio of second generation, that would be lit
@@Skdndnsmsm I do wish they would have left 4 open ended and Jill and Kirby went on to the next sequel. Kirby knew Charlie was a killer, so I get him not making it and it actually helps Jill get away with it. I hope 7 is completely Kirby centric and they get her to feel more like she did in Scream 4. That would be my ideal way of doing the next one.
We could've had Richie, Jason and Greg blackmail Jill while Jill finds Vince Schneider and someone else to help her counter them from revealing her secret in Scream 5. As Kirby, Dewey, Gale and Judy try to handle the events thats going on. Sidney regains her memories of Jill being Ghostface on the final act. Sam and Tara vs Jill and Richie goes hard.
I think it's better than Jill was not so likeable, because it made way more sense when she reveals she is a psychopath. The shick value may have been bigger if she was different but it also may have seemed fake.
I don't know hmm 🤔 if you think about it casting alone getting Emma and Hyden to be in Scream 4 and them never getting a trilogy is a crime no matter what awesomeness Kevin wrote that's why ive always felt robbed their performances are why Scream 4 is so good. But Jill being a killer and we never knowing until their 3rd movie would have been fun also.

It would have been better if Sidney killed a ghost face at the beginning of the movie we got because it would have added some action to the movie and especially because it would have made the taste of fame Jill saw and was jealous of more current and believable.
This was properly the role they where talking to Lindsay Lohan for, I remember it being rumoured she was gonna be in Scream 4 and 5 around 2009 and I can see her playing a witty sexpot type rather than the Jill we know

Is it possible that with this whole New idea of a reboot for scream7 maybe we can get these characters back but in this original version like a multiverse or sth like that. Dunno. Can be funny watch a diferent pov for Sidney and these characters like Halloween has made with its franchise...

The internet spoiled Jill as the killer for me so I wasn't very shocked when she was revealed as the killer, scream4 has grown on me i honestly like the character of jill a little more character development would have been nice but whatever my problem with scream 4 is emma roberts i dont think she made a good ghostface her acting was off js mmy favorite scream films is scream, scream 4 and 5 6 should have never been made specially with the whole melissa drama they just left us hanging thats why they should have stopped at five it was the perfect requel and the killers were crazier than ever my all time fav.

Jill is probably the most underrated ghost face her motive was probably the most creative and she came so close to pulling off her well executed plan. It is sad her brain fart with Dewey was what completely ruined her nearly perfect plan
Hence Kevin Williamson 's would of been heaps better, with better sequels. No surprise when he is the creator of Scream.
I’m not to familiar with show, I’ve heard of it but never watched cause whom that show was geared towards. But I’m guessing Tatum-ques or a female Stu character was supposed to be Jill. Studio control, I don’t think giving Ethan full credit for this idea was actually his. Also didn’t he do this idea in Cursed?
I also avoided the vampire diaries during its original airing but during Covid , I gave it a shot and thought the show was very very good. But when I got to season 4, something was off. Then I looked it up, Kevin co-wrote the vampire diaries seasons 1-3 and when he left, the writing changed. The vampire diaries is streaming peacock now, give it a shot, you might like it.

@@icaliver that’s my personal opinion, some ppl say season 4 & 6 was good as well, but everyone agrees 1-3 is great. Also season 1-3 has an ending, so you can watch those three seasons together and not miss anything. All answers are solved.

It’s weird to hear the character of Elena Gilbert described in such positive light because, to me, Elena is one of the most horribly written, selfish, whiny and generally unlikeable characters in television history and, personally, I thought TVD was a much better show without her, though I do love Nina.
It can sounds weird... But Jill sounds like fem version of Stu... As if she was suppoused to be one of first easter egg. Popular, goofy, likeable and seemingly CHARMLESS... Sounds like Stu Macher... Before reveal. Through his 'sexy' was purposefully made goofy from start.
It is half joke... But seeing what happened later... It is not fully unbeliveable, Jill on draft was suppoused to be fem Stu... 🤔

Honestly Jill is my second favorite slasher in the franchise solely for the fact she wanted to kill Sid for fame. And I wish she succeeded could you imagine scream 5 Jill being stalked because someone knew she killed Sid, or that the fame she thought she was gonna get didn’t work out so she went on a killing spree to get MORE famous LOL I’m just saying the potential lol
I never liked Emma Roberts as Jill. I don’t think she can act well in the first place so it wasn’t very believable for me. I’m convinced the only reason she got roles in movies is because her aunt is Julia Roberts.
I think both versions of Jill would have been great but this Jill that we got had great execution at the end of the film. I was mind blown when you mentioned that Scream 4 had an opening kill scene with Sidney. That would have been amazing if they put that kill scene in the beginning of Scream 6 with Sidney . That movie was missing Sidney so bad.

Scream 4 gets overrated for a “twist” they never talk about how everything before and after is mediocre for Scream standards. The opening, music, cinematography are all the worst of the franchise

I like the very first opening with Lucy hale (yellow shirt) if it had started with that, and only had that one fakeout and then went directly to the real movie, it would have been much better

Imagine if they did Scream 4 ten years earlier. They would’ve had an easier time connecting Jill to Sydney, the problem is the age gap.
