It makes more sense why Billy & Stu wanted Tatum dead. The wealth of knowledge Tatum had for real serial killers could help Sid a lot. They thought Tatum was a threat. On the other hand Billy & Stu could use Tatum's knowledge against her and Sidney. Smart move on Stu's part to start dating Tatum. I am sure Tatum would know where and what Sidney was doing most of the time. Maybe they didn't think Randy was a threat because he only had knowledge of the movies he watched and not of real serial killers.
I wished they hadn’t killed her, I liked her and thought she was a great character.
It’s interesting how Tatum in the movie is never seen as a suspect. But if they would’ve used her lines about serial killers, that wouldn’t be the case. Her line that a killer can be female would hit differently
My favorite Tatum Riley fact is her wardrobe was chosen by Rose McGowan!
She’s more important than anyone knows: she NAMES Ghostface.
If Tatum was kept this way and survived she may have gone on to join the FBI like Kirby did. Seeing as Dewey was law enforcement and she had extensive knowledge of real life serial killers.

Tatum's death looks really cool in the movie, but one thing that has always bothered me about it is the fact that no garage door is going to go up with that much weight attached to it. It would all come down before it lifted.
Us not seeing ghostie in the garage does make it more scary
In the original script the movie ends with Randy and Sidney going on a date.
I always thought that Tatum was as knowledgeable as Randy. Her witty one-liners prove she knows horror movies better than casual viewers. And now adding to the mix a layer of knowledge on serial killers mindset, you can tell that Kevin Williamson thought of her as an intelligent character, quite the opposite to the usual slutty blonde best friend type.
Tatum is basically technology and information to Sidney. She's her Google search results.

I was in 6th grade the first time I watched SCREAM. I loved Sidney as a character and gravitated towards Gale cos I've always been a bit of a b*tch. But out of all of them in the original I loved Tatum the most. Thought she was a badass and sad she didn't survive for the sequel.
I really like Tatums caracter in the original but this would made her even better. Now i just want to see a discussion of her and randy about scary movies! I am not a huge fan of kirby so switching her with tatum is a no brainer for me.
I would’ve loved to see how Rose McGowan would’ve showcased this side of Tatum
I heard on an interview that I have been trying to refind is Tatum was suppose to be on Scream 2 and not die on the first Scream. It was said she was supposed to have Cece's death. Which is why they just used another blonde for that role. It was originally suppose to be Tatum.
I'm not a fan of bringing someone back from the dead in Scream But I'd love Rose back in a role in scream 7, maybe as a actress playing tatum in stab 9
