Yeah, there's drama at the bins now and then. People sure can be rude sometimes. I'm grateful that we still have the rule of one person per bin!! Love your channel!!
Wow!!! You really made out today. Those lanterns are beautiful. Glad you were able to snag them. AND thankful that no fights broke out. You never know these days what people will do. Crazy...
And so sad. What happened to manners, kindness, compassion and caring about others? Where is the golden rule? Seems to me, so many people are only interested in what they can get, not what they can give.
I like painted baskets, for 2 reasons. 1) The paint helps stop the basket from drying out and causing breakage. 2) I love French Country and Shabby Sheak.
Great finds Cory! I chuckled when you said the home sign had a medieval vibe - ha-ha! It did! Re baskets I like darker brown color with just a little white wash tint/wax. The nutty lady who offered you to flip a coin to maybe lose what you already had is shameless. People have lost common sense and all sense of boundaries!
I love your openness & authenticity about the procedure on your nose & everything. Rubbing vitamin E oil on the nose can help reduce any scarring. Cute blouse. You’re absolutely adorable & so genuine.
I would have picked up that blue toile fabric. When I moved into my smaller house I made a long valence and covered the dining room chairs. The chairs still look good. I eventually made two table runners from the valence. It’s timeless. I don’t usually buy baskets
Great haul!!! Sorry your morning had to be spoiled by greedy people. Great watching a full haul. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to seeing what you do with them over the next few videos.
Some people are just embarrassing! What’s worse is they obviously aren’t embarrassed by their behavior 🤦🏻♀️ the good that came from that fiasco is you found some amazing things
I would leave the home sign as is! Love the brackets ! My opinion. You got amazing things👏👏 I love watching you! Unfortunately we don't have any bins at our goodwill 😔
I have scored some cool tins, lanterns and baskets.. love thrifting.. your garage looks like mine.. I have so many different collections, but they all are rustic and old..right now, I’m searching for old books, copyrighted in the 1800’s, my oldest is from 1846, I love the uneven pages and the leather or linen bindings.. it’s good that I live in Tennessee or I would buy every adorable thing in your shop ❤️❤️
Corey, I enjoyed your description of mayhem at the bins. It made my day! Too funny! Enjoy all of your work, but this episode tickled my funny bone. Thank you, my friend. ❤️2U and yours
There are a lot of comments, so I don't know if you'll see this, but: BASKETS. If you're handy with some yarn-type material, create fringes along the top on your baskets. It doesn't even have to go all the way around. For example, you could just decorate around the handles with a fringe or add a few different colors (beige/brown). I think you can imagine that - they sell for $$ much more than a regular basket, too. So very cute! Thanks for the video and for making me laugh out loud with the shopping spree stories. ;)
true.... but it seems to be getting harder to find! I found a red on cream version last year at about $30 a yard... which is a pretty good price.. from an online fabric shop, and just had 2 1950s bergere chairs reupholstered in it. 🌝🌝🌝❤️
I would have bought it if I had brought scissors with me. It was a huge comforter blanket that weighed a ton so it wouldn't be very cheap to buy by the weight.
The tobacco basket if wetted can be reshaped or in this case made flat. If the color doesn't run, wet it where the bent area is and put a heavy flat item on it and let it dry overnight. It will be flat again when dry. I have actually weave baskets. I took classes on it LoL. I love them all. For me shape and uniqueness matter most.. Great score..
Thank you. I got it second hand on thredup.com That is where I get all my clothes now haha. SO much easier than going into stores and trying to find things I like. I have a referral link in my description box for their website. I am NOT sponsored just sharing where I shop.
Oh my word girl what fabulous finds you got today! I was so thankful to see that you had gloves on also. That always worries me when you dig without. So wish I lived closer to be able to shop in your in your shop! You know I love your style. Once again, thank you so much for sharing with us. I do so always look forward to your videos. Take care. Have a beautiful day! Please Be safe♥️
Great finds! Always anxious for your next video. You have inspired me to try to refinish a small table. Thanks for sharing your talent and kindness. You are a ray of sunshine! ☀️
Agree 1000% when you joked how the best way to source any specific item is to STOP looking for it!! Let it come YOUR way!! Also agree about sourcing Holiday/Seasonal decor OUT of season. I just keep a designated storage place---which is easy to access; SO important---where I toss the out of season stuff immediately after getting it home. Then I forget about it until that season rolls around again. Without fail., am always pleased and surprised at the cool stuff thrifted throughout the year which completely slipped my mind until I open that bin or storage bag. :) This is especially true for Christmas items. We have a couple showstopper pieces of Christmas decor; a flocked pencil tree and HUGE round wreath---really 'high end'---found way out of season. The tree especially retails for MUCH more than I was willing to budget, as the quality of workmanship, materials and attention to detail is outstanding and NOT the norm....it cost a whopping $10, and came my way about two months AFTER I stopped combing the 'post holiday' sales online and at retail stores in vain for a nice one at a decent price. . :) High End Holiday Decor is EXPENSIVE!! Anyway, it was fun as always seeing your big haul, and remain gobsmacked at the trashy behavior you witnessed upon entering the bins. Just ghastly. Happily, this is the exception, not the rule. :) :)
I really enjoy watching your videos. You have such a sweet disposition and you exude sweetness and warmth. So pleased to see you expanding into a booth space.
I agree with you on the basket color. Have watched you a few times and really enjoy watching you. I subscribed today. I really like seeing you redo furniture pieces. Happy you didn’t get hurt during the rush on items. The two lanterns are very pretty. Stay sweet and safe. Nana Brenda
a hint about buying used stuffed toys...in winter , hang it on your clothes line outside, in freezing or cold weather , or put it in your freezer for a day or two..I wipe it down first and let it completely dry first...another tip..smell it before buying it...if it is funky....don't get it....
Ohhh wow love the lanterns..i would have waited on them too! The brown one is really gorgeous😊 The little snowflake lamp is super cute!❤ Someone may have gotten some storage units thru an auction or something and didn't want the Christmas decor and just donated it. I've heard of that happening. I Actually got some of the older Tonka pieces about a year ago for my grandson, who's obsessed with ANY type of truck! I found the dump truck, aexcavator and another one.. all in good shape, just a free scratches.. those older ones were nice metal pieces that you can't hardly find anymore or in good shape anyways. You got some really good items today! Thanks for sharing😊
Lol.. not so sure about that😄 I google lens every piece i purchase, which sometimes leads to further research. But I also learn alot from watching all the Utube channels of thrifters, antiquers, collectors.. its awesome how much i learn from these channels! Just like I learn tricks on DIY projects, you being one of those😊 I'm older, i have to see it straight on, reading a book does me no good😂
Nice finds. I have just resently discovered goodwill bins, only 35 min away from where I live. Now I got addicted going there. Always find something awesome for lowest ever prices. My recent find was a cashmere / wool blend winter coat, in black color, with real fur hood edge, and a zipper. I used to have similar for many years, and wore it down to literally holes in it. So happy to find a replacement, in like-new condition for less than 4$!
I tend to like my baskets like you said, with some age and in a toned down gray-ish French county color. The pedestal lantern was my FAVORITE!!! They would have to pry that from my cold dead hands!!!😂 I don't have bins near me, but I'm not sure I could deal with the people even if I did, ha! Great score today!🙌💕
Cory- as a person of faith, you do realize there is a spiritual battle taking place; especially as we get closer to Resurrection Sunday. These past few years since the onset of the pandemic, I've learned to be even more acutely aware of my surroundings. One can never be too sure. Stay safe....🙏
Cool haul! I like your idea for the basket! I was thinking white until you said brown or grey with white wax! I bet if you steam the "tobasket" you can mold it back into shape. Love the lanterns!
Well, I'm really surprised. People are pushing and shoving at the goodWill shaking my head over here. But last week I was at the good will and I've been looking for about a year now. Like a piano bench, my makeup table cause my chair broke. And I found one it's really old. I came home wash cleaned.Sand it down. She looks great.I'm thankful to have it.And I restored her the way I watch your channel. Its my first piece.I'm so excited so thank you for what you do
It looks to me ur at the greenspoint goodwill… greenspoint’s nickname is gunpoint. I’m not surprised. The last time i went there was about a year ago and its because as i was walking in, a herd of people were storming out cause there was another vehicle breakin. It was the 6th that week. Be careful and have fun shopping!
Ive spray painted those willow type baskets white enamel mostly to glue them together because dry and to prevent more cracking. I do one coat just enough to cover so it still looks a little rustic.
You got really great stuff. For the baskets at the moment I like weathered grey. But have all sorts of them. I live on the coast and white baskets are in here (Australia). I just love all the colours they come in.
You really scored on this trip! I would try to straighten the tobacco basket by soaking it in water, then straightening it. Use weights or something to keep it square and flat until it dries. No guarantees, but wood is more flexible when wet. As for what color to paint your other basket, I prefer unpainted baskets to I can use a paint or stain to match my home decor and style.
To heal your nose, use castor oil or vitamin E capsules that you put a needle thru to get the oil out. Either will work if you do it every night for a month, maybe less. Love your videos.
I recently went to the bins for the first time. The first few times they rolled out more tables they were yelling something to the crowd. I couldn't understand what they were saying. I just moved out of the way, but kept shopping. Finally i had been talking to another shopper while we were shopping when the carts came out. She educated me on what to do. I now know. Was fun meeting her.
You are correct about being able to find something after you stop looking. It is actually part of the law of attraction. When you tell the universe you want something, like a turkey platter, you then have to let it go & have faith the universe will bring it to you. If you continue looking fervently, you’re telling the universe that you don’t trust it & that energy alone will keep the item away. I see resellers searching for glassy baby’s & I always think that if they would just give it to the universe & let it go, they would find one sooner rather than later. Anyway, new subscriber here. I just found your channel & appreciate how down to earth you are 😊 xo
I shop at the Goodwill bins in Indiana. lucky haven't been there when people start acting out. But I have heard that staff have to kick people out for being unruly. I've been warned to keep an eye on my cart; people will actually take things out while you're distracted with staff bringing out the new bins.
That straw wreath is great... if I'm reading it right, it looks like July 1992... I laughed at the "looks like an older tag," which it is, at 32 years old, but to me, at age 60, an older tag is 1965...which is absolute vintage to some lol! Anyway, the stories the wreath could tell, I'm sure. I am a fairly new subscriber and really enjoy your videos. 😊
The tobacco basket...if you soak for awhile in the sink and then bend to straighten and place a square weighted something in the bottom...let it dry in the sun on a flat surface, it should straighten out. Great day at the Bins!
You can straighten the Tobacco basket by putting it in warm water then put heavy stuff on it when drying. It should straighten out. You may lose the color and end up painting it.
Cory, your excitement as you were heading to the GW store reminds me of ME! Lol! I tell everyone that the “hunt” is the funnest part of having a booth!🤗I have a legitimate excuse to go “JUNKIN” as often as I want! Well YAY! Haha! You did good! I love that Christmas canister with the lid with pinecone topper! Why would someone want to get rid of that?🤷🏻♀️And those lantern’s! What a steal! So happy you were able to grab them! Love your video’s! You do a great job. Always look forward to them! God bless!
Hi Cory, The lanterns are a super great find I really like both of them a lot. I love how sweet you are, and I’m sorry that bad lady scared you🥰. If it was me she came up to asking me to switch lanterns…….I can assure you she would have been the one that left scared🤣🤣🤣. I like my baskets to be a medium brown shade, or dark brown with a white wax. If I buy them in a light natural tone I always change the color. Hope you have a great week😀.
Youre so cute when you laugh. You make your videos fun. Loved that lantern you waited for. I think you could wet that tobacco basket and lay something heavy on it while it dries and maybe it’ll straighten out. Grayish brown is always nice on baskets.
Thank you! I love seeing you post in polish because the language looks so interesting since I have never seen it. I have some polish ancestors from back when some of Poland was a part of Prussia.
The behavior of people is getting worse by the day. I'm glad you made it out of GW unscathed! You picked up some neat stuff!
I agree it's unfortunate but at least I got cool stuff
You are more than precious and so talented. I binge watch you.
Yeah, there's drama at the bins now and then. People sure can be rude sometimes. I'm grateful that we still have the rule of one person per bin!! Love your channel!!
Oh wow! One person per bin would not work over here. They must have smaller bins in your shop. Ours are as wide as huge dumpsters each one.
Love your posts. You are one of my top favorites.
Wow, thank you! That is so amazing
Mine too!!👏🏼🥰
Ditto!! Love your personality❤
Wow!!! You really made out today. Those lanterns are beautiful. Glad you were able to snag them. AND thankful that no fights broke out. You never know these days what people will do. Crazy...
That is so true!
And so sad. What happened to manners, kindness, compassion and caring about others? Where is the golden rule? Seems to me, so many people are only interested in what they can get, not what they can give.
I usually like white washed for used baskets. Glad you made it out unharmed!
Thank you!
I like painted baskets, for 2 reasons. 1) The paint helps stop the basket from drying out and causing breakage. 2) I love French Country and Shabby Sheak.
Great points
The Tobacco basket will straighten if you wet it and put something heavy on it. Thanks for sharing❤
Thanks for the tip!
@@DesertDIY you are so welcome. I really enjoy your videos.
I saw another person put a basket in the skin or tub and get wet then put something heavy in it to form it again
Haha yes exactly my thoughts
I love your openness & authenticity about the procedure on your nose & everything. Rubbing vitamin E oil on the nose can help reduce any scarring. Cute blouse. You’re absolutely adorable & so genuine.
Thanks for the tips! I appreciate that! Thank you Trixie
Completely agree!
I absolutely ❤❤❤the white Christmas lamp. The white/cream with gold trim is my style. You crack me up when you start laughing I start.lol
Thank you so much!! I am so glad you got a good laugh!
I would have picked up that blue toile fabric. When I moved into my smaller house I made a long valence and covered the dining room chairs. The chairs still look good. I eventually made two table runners from the valence. It’s timeless. I don’t usually buy baskets
It was a huge heavy comforter so it would've ended up costing a lot. I'm going to bring scissors next time so I can cut up fabric I want
Great haul!!! Sorry your morning had to be spoiled by greedy people. Great watching a full haul. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to seeing what you do with them over the next few videos.
Thanks so much
Some people are just embarrassing! What’s worse is they obviously aren’t embarrassed by their behavior 🤦🏻♀️ the good that came from that fiasco is you found some amazing things
That is exactly how I see it too. And they never see their actions as wrong. So crazy.
I would leave the home sign as is! Love the brackets ! My opinion. You got amazing things👏👏
I love watching you! Unfortunately we don't have any bins at our goodwill 😔
Looks like your hubby is very supportive of your little business!
He sure is! It is "our" business now that he is in school full time and not "working"

Great haul Cory! Those lanterns were a steal!! 🥰🥰🥰
Yes they are!
Omgosh, the lanterns!!!
Stunning!
that peasant blouse you are wearing is both a good style and color for you!
Oh thank you!
Wow that was a great score. Love the Christmas jar it’s gorgeous 💕
Thank you! 🤗
I love all your purchases, every time, really like baskets painted or white washed👍
Thank you Theresa

I would have bought the blue toile fabric for sure !! I'm obsessed with it !!!
It was gorgeous but very heavy (which would be expensive paying by the weight)
true.... but it seems to be getting harder to find! I found a red on cream version last year at about $30 a yard... which is a pretty good price.. from an online fabric shop, and just had 2 1950s bergere chairs reupholstered in it. 🌝🌝🌝❤️
I kinda cringed when you didn't get the fabric. It was lovely.
You came out with true treasures! Your my favorite thrifter! ❤
Loved the blue and white fabric, fabric is my weakness, love your videos, watching from a boiling Johannesburg, South Africa, 🤗☀️
I would have bought it if I had brought scissors with me. It was a huge comforter blanket that weighed a ton so it wouldn't be very cheap to buy by the weight.
So many great finds!! Loved it all❤
Yay! Thank you!
So glad you were safe and the shoppers were taken care of!’ Would want that large basket in a white wash!!
Thank you Karen
So enjoy watching your videos, you have such a sweet, calming sir about you and I live all your finds, the large lanterns are awesome! 🤗
Thank you so much!
The tobacco basket if wetted can be reshaped or in this case made flat. If the color doesn't run, wet it where the bent area is and put a heavy flat item on it and let it dry overnight. Great haul! Thanks for sharing, Cory ❤

You could use fabric like maybe a French country style made into a lap blanket for staging in the brown basket.
Great idea

I've been warned to keep an eye on my cart; people will actually take things out while you're distracted with staff bringing out the new bins.
People are so awful sometimes.
I have that Turkey platter. I got as a wedding gift in 1987🎉🎉🎉🎉
How cool
I have it too!
Thank you so much Laura. That is true, perspective is reality haha.
I love white washed baskets maybe a blue stenciling the same shade as your blouse.
You certainly got some weird and wonderful things. As long as you were safe all’s good. 😊 I do love the lamps, very nice.👍
Thank you! 🤗
The tobacco basket...if you soak for awhile in the sink and then bend to straighten and place a square weighted something in the bottom...let it dry in the sun on a flat surface, it should straighten out.
Great day at the Bins!
Thank you for the tip!
I think the narrow wooden box was a bat house. I have several that are similar.
I think so too
Well done for getting yours 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Thank you
The Hershey's tin you found is from the 80s. My mama has one exactly like that in her kitchen. Nice find
Thanks for the info!
What a wonderful haul, you found some great finds!❤️
Thank you! 😊
You can straighten the Tobacco basket by putting it in warm water then put heavy stuff on it when drying. It should straighten out. You may lose the color and end up painting it.
Thank you for that info
Cory, your excitement as you were heading to the GW store reminds me of ME! Lol! I tell everyone that the “hunt” is the funnest part of having a booth!🤗I have a legitimate excuse to go “JUNKIN” as often as I want! Well YAY! Haha! You did good! I love that Christmas canister with the lid with pinecone topper! Why would someone want to get rid of that?🤷🏻♀️And those lantern’s! What a steal! So happy you were able to grab them! Love your video’s! You do a great job. Always look forward to them! God bless!
Thank you so much Carlene. You are SO RIGHT. I get to shop for my job ahaha
@@DesertDIY❤
I like baskets that are darker with patina but sometimes whitewashed.
I loved the turkey platter.
Wow, amazing finds! For sure am going to find time to go to our Goodwill bins soon. :)
You'll have a great time I bet
Basket: wine barrel brown for me too or a white wash color
Thank you
I would have put up a good fight for those lanterns. I really like them both LOL
They're so good!
Great thrift haul❣️
Thank you! 🤗
Thank you so much!
Great haul!! A fight!! Omg, I would have been right there to subdue someone! Fun vid cory!
Thank you Dar! You are a hero haha
Youre so cute when you laugh. You make your videos fun. Loved that lantern you waited for. I think you could wet that tobacco basket and lay something heavy on it while it dries and maybe it’ll straighten out. Grayish brown is always nice on baskets.
Thank you so much Maggie
over here on the East side of Hawaii Island ... our best thrift shop closed and the one close to home is so bare and sad ... wawa
Aw man! I can see why there wouldn't be many thrift stores on the island though.
Since your outtakes I have been calling them tobaskets. Everyone has been laughing at me. Thanks for sharing😁! Great video as always.
Haha it sounds right
Hi Cory love your videos you are a wonderful woman thank you for sharing.❤😊
Thank you so much Bertha
Podoba mi się talerz z indykiem i ażurowa lampka. 👍👍
Thank you! I love seeing you post in polish because the language looks so interesting since I have never seen it. I have some polish ancestors from back when some of Poland was a part of Prussia.
I would like the baskets painted white ❤
