I watched a couple doing garage sales and the lady bought at least 7 purses. Before they left they checked into the purses and they found $20.00 in one and $80.00 in another. They were honest and returned the money to the owner. That’s the right thing to do, just like ya.
If I remember correctly, those Olympic stars were only given to the Olympians. There was a shortage of them to the point that they had to borrow one from someone for pictures, but were promised them when the shipment came in. I think they did that instead of flowers that year. Really cool seeing that one!!
Y’all should get the vacuum bags for your road trips. You don’t need a vacuum put the blanket in the bag zip it almost closed roll it from the bottom to the top finish the seal. You’ll still have the weight but it won’t take up the space. Just a thought

If you weren't traveling, that vintage blue blanket with embroidery trim was really nice. The alpaca sweater was gorgeous, but probably would have been just as bulky as the blanket. Those first two auctions had such high prices. Makes sense for people to wait for a half price day. Fun video.

That gothic dressing chair gave me creepy vibes, lol When I can't make out small print I take a picture with my phone and zoom out to enlarge the detail. It can really help. I guess that expensive estate sale will only possibly make money on their half off day. Crazy pricing. I so enjoy seeing how genuinely happy you two are now. Following you both from the beginning it's been such a change and I'm so very happy you found each other. You are such a pleasure to watch. The knowledge you gain from each other is great. It has to be so fun having a partner that enjoys picking just as much as you do.

We're from Phx, Az. You hit the nail right on the head, Mat. Our estate sales are ridiculously over priced here. Coupled with high competition, it becomes very challenging to source from estate sales. We see content from estate sale finds from other parts of the country and can't believe the world of difference in quality and pricing.
The birds were hand-painted by a famous Virginia folk artist, Nancy Thomas, hence the N.T, hand signed on the cardinal and the other bird. Her signed pieces go for a lot.

Just started but Alpaca sweater suggestion: soak briefly in lukewarm water in Woolite. No need to move around much so tassle ok. Rinse gently, lay out to dry. Or dry clean (ehich I prefer not to do).
Some sales seem like people showing off their fancy stuff instead of trying to empty a house and move on. That said, the door knocker at the $$$ house was amazing. There is a lot of theft at estate sales in my area. I’ve actually seen people pocketing jewelry before.

Arizona estate sales people have caught wind of the prices certain vintage tees can fetch. Lately any estate sale I’ve gone too that has any vintage tees, even ones that I couldn’t sell for more than $10 are being listed at estate sales for $20+.
I own an Estate Sale business there is no point in pricing items at or above retail, it will still be there at the end of the sale! At My shoppe and my sales we price items so resellers can still make money! The only way they make out with these high prices is to charge a minimum and the client ends up paying that. The other possibility is people who run their own sale. The bottom line is to move things and clean the house out at fair prices for the buyers AND the client!
I walked into an estate sale over the weekend and the prices were SO high! Even comps weren’t as high as they had things. So not only was there no money to be made by a reseller but even regular people would be getting stiffed. That already had me wondering what in the world was going on. As we were walking out, 2 workers were in an argument with each other in front of a potential customer about the price of an item. The one lady then proceeded to ask if the customer was a reseller, which is probably why she would have wanted the buyer to pay more. It really rubbed me the wrong way. Honestly, it’s none of their business who is or isn’t a reseller IMO and with prices like that, no thanks. I have no issues eliminating estate sale business like this from my source list. These guys just got knocked off my list.
Chances are they have prices high so they can resell the leftover items themselves. They often have deals where anything that doesn’t sell they will purchase for very low prices. It’s a very common scam that I’ve come across myself.

I went to an estate sale last year and I asked the business owner what she planned on doing with all the books she doesn’t sell and she said “oh I’m just going to resell them if they don’t sell here.” I just found out last weekend while I was estate saling that the business I mentioned in my original comment is the sister company to that woman’s.

When I bought to flip in AZ, I only went to newer companies and last day estate sales unless they were run by the family. My best deals were from yard sales and the time of year for community sales.
Flower Frogs! You guys missed a silver and glass flower frog, which is designed to hold individual flower stems, keeping them upright. Plain ones go in the bottom of a vase, decorative ones can just sit on the table. Really nice looking. Lots of fun.
