Nice New Dell Optiplex SFF Standard 7010 video to see what is inside. 2 RAM slots is OK. On the DVD/Optical drive location (as you say less people use and is an option) is there an option/room to mount a 3.5" HDD on that place? That would be very nice.
Yes, it does. You can see the blue 3.5" screwless plastic bracket on the table at 9:55, just put the 3.5 drive there and connect the preexisting cables and you are good to go.
@@Scott.The.IT.Guy.Thats the old model... My question is about the new model ;). Update 15-3: Today i got the 7010 (new model) yes there is room for 3.5 HDD disk. Little skills to mount it on the bracket :).
Hey Scott, thanks for great video review on this small and mighty machine. Stright to business! Perfect 👍I'm building it now for my budget workstation as this i5 13500 looks promising. I just bought very naked version with no OS, 8 RAM and 256 SSD, and going for immediate upgrades to 32GB RAM / 1 TB M2 SSD + 2xSATA SSD's + VGA RX6400 LP. Just a quick question, there are two SATA connectors, but not sure about the dedicated place for a second SATA drive on that metal enclosure. Any suggestions? Appreciated.
Thank you! If you two Sata port on the motherboard both can be used for a 2.5 drive, however you might only have a power connector for one drive and a small power connector for the optical drive (If you have any). I usually use a Y splitter on the single power connector so I can connect two SSD`s at the same time.

I can see the pci x16 connector is on the edge on the motherboard, so you can put a single slot low profile card in it. It it were one position up you could put a dual slot low profile video card in it to make it a small gaming pc.
I usually get a single slot vga card for these SFF desktops if I have to. Unfortunately there is no extra power cable coming off the power supply and with the half height requirement, the options are very limited. I used these models strictly for office use.
@@Scott.The.IT.Guy. Yes only a single slot card fits, but there's a unused bracket above it too so if the Pci-e slot would be one up u could put a msi gtx 1650 dual slot card in it. I have a older SFF which has the pci slot one position up and have a dual slot gtx 1650 in it and my son uses as a gaming pc. It's a nice to have besides office work.
Thanks! I built three, $3000 desktops last summer but mostly I stay with business class computers. In the next couple of months, I will review a $5000 Micro Center built gaming desktop.
It’s optional . If you custom build one at Dell , you will have to select the WiFi. If it’s prebuilt and it’s not on the list , it’s probably not going to have it. You can always get a Dell WiFi card on eBay or use a third party usb external WiFi card.
Don`t have a lot of good options. The Dell power supply does not have a power connector for a GPU. You need a card without the extra power and has to be low profile . GTX 1650 LP or RX 6400 LP
Do you mean "regular" -> OptiPlex Tower? That needs a full height card; however, the power supply is only 240-250W by default and usually don`t have additional power connectors for the GPU. The SFF (Small factory form, showed in this video) can only use half height cards, has a 180W power supply and don`t have additional power connectors for the GPU.
I have one where the msi gtx 1650 fits in. That card is dual slot half height and doesn't req a power connector. But my model has the Pci-e slot behind the top bracket, not the lowest bracket like the one in the review.

With the i7 CPU we are getting 4 memory slots vs 2. It’s a significantly faster CPU regards of computing power, in general (based on my experience) pc with i7 usually lasts a few years longer in the same business environment as the i5.
