    SFF uses proprietary power supply and will cost big bucks if it ever needs to be replaced. The MFF uses standard Dell laptop power bricks that can be had for under $25 !

    So Dell is re-using names now? The OptiPlex 7010 was originally a 3rd generation system from the early 2010s; I deal with quite a few of those. Typing this now from a 9010 (the higher end version of the same machine.) I didn't know they had recycled the numbers.

      Yes, OptiPlex 7010 -7020, Vostro 3520, Inspiron 3520 and many many more . They could just call it 7011 or 7021 so something else so it would be easy to order parts and look up specs.

      Threw all my mid tower systems out ! If you're into silent computing these 1L PC are a god send with enough computing power for general office applications and to mid level video encoding.

      Thanks! When I start uploading the video, I don’t have the option at that time, so I often forget to do that!

    Do you know if the micro can run 2x 2k monitors?

      The standard micro has one native 4K display port and one 4k HDMi port but only capable to do 30fps which can be a problem , I only use them as FHD.
      The standard plus has three native 4k display ports.

    I'm surprised you said the MFF is cheaper than the SFF ? The MFF are normally more expensive by a wide margin the 7010M are still relatively new and still costs big bucks $700usd+ even used, a new one start at $1500usd+ !

      MMF is about $100 less in general with the same spec as the SFF. Sometimes even more than that depending on the actual Dell inventory and sales. Right now micro i5 13500t 16 gb ram 512 ssd $629 at Dell Same SFF is $819 .

    The Wi-Fi, SSD, and GPU are disappointing. The Wi-Fi not being mandatory is horrible. The best SSD 2230 isn't as powerful as an SSD 2280. Intel Iris Xe is meh, but this product isn't meant for those that need a powerful GPU. Geared more for business users or programmers.
    When configured correctly, with Wi-Fi and DDR5 RAM, it still holds up as valuable. Just adjust the RAM to 32GB and it can work for programmers. With 16GB of DDR5 RAM and Wi-Fi, it can be sold to finance departments or small medical/dental offices.

    My biggest concern is RAM cooling during long, heavy load, all such mini PCs (minisforum, Intel NUC) can have issues with RAM throttling because of poor ventilation. I can see that the fan hangs over RAM, takes the air there, so I wonder how affective it is for RAM? You will know after a longer period of running a heavy load. I can see now that SSF also have horizontal RAM ports, which does not help ventilate them, but the CPU fan does not cover RAM (better/worse?), as is it the place for CD.

      Anywhere I put these micro desktops out will be used only for browsing end emails nothing more. I usually go with the optiplex tower or the precision workstation desktop if the user is doing something more complex.
      I know some people repurpose these mini computers for all kinds of reasons and there could be definitely issues with heat and throttling.

    Just, i would ask if this mff is suitable for coding (web applications using java).

    The comparison was to review one against the other ( as it stands before you)---NOT AFTER ADDING CARDS, ETC. !!

    • @Scott.The.IT.Guy.
      @Scott.The.IT.Guy.  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am sorry if this was confusing. All benchmarks were performed without any additional card. What I meant is that the SFF has the advantage over the micro since we can add additional cards.
