Welcome back to another Gears of War lore video. In this video I'm going to be explaining Gears of War Anya Stroud and the Gears of War Reconstruction of the cog which is the Gears of War New Cog. Wouldn't surprise me if Jinn was responsible for Anya's death. It's stated on the wiki that she died due to complications carrying her second child, but this is never stated anywhere in the games so I'm wondering about the validity of that info
When Marcus said to Jinn “you and that goddamn fertility program” it basically alluded to that.
I was sceptical too but when I put two and two together on it, it made sense.
Hence why Marcus was really annoyed about the fertility program.
@@KingAbzTV I actually meant more literally, like interfering directly and sabotaging the treatment to make sure she died
@@KingAbzTV which also suggested she was fine after having James which we saw in the gears of war 4 trailer with that flashback. So my guess on the second time she probably wanted another child maybe another son or daughter but guess it went wrong.

Jinn just seems like another Prescott. A slimy politician with a lot to hide behind kind words
Even throughout the series... Particularly after Gear 2 Marcus began distrusting the Cog.
And 100% with good reason. New Hope was basically the first glimpse at how corrupt the "Good Guys" really were. So it's not unreasonable to assume that he dug deeper after the war which is why he hates the Cog so much now. And only puts up with then because they're the best hope once more to saving humanity.
Marcus was "distrusting" of the COG ever since the Pendulum Wars. Even during the comics when he first met Tai.
Torturing prisioners, false trial for him, secret lab with basicly First gen loucust and Prescott kidnaping his father. He has a Lot to dislike about The COG.
This franchise has given me so many great memories since game 1. And it is even better when you can share the experience again with your grandchildren.
My favourite gears character was always Ayna, even in Gears 1 I could tell they had plans for her and Marcus. When I started diving into the lore she proved to be interesting even further
When she was later on a playable character in Gears 3, I played through the campaign with my friends and I always fight to play as Anya other anyone else (sept Sam) and enjoyed her role in Gears 3.
I was a little annoyed that she was killed off-screen in Gears 4 but her death is a major point for Marcus and J.D which makes sense.
I'll always rock my Ayna Tommarow Skin in Gears 4 and my First Minister Skin in Gears 5

@@ariabalsgamingchannel I always played gears with my brothers and obviously I was the second player, I loved playing with dom, in the 3rd game after his death that you have to play with Anya is not the same, I didn't even want to continue playing, don't get me wrong anya is a good character, but just after all the time with dom, i didn't want to play as anya

It's likely happened after having James. Jinn did say she came to her two times which the first would've obviously been James and likely she died trying getting another child.

I never liked Jinn from the start, but for a different reason. Jinn means devil or demon in Arabic and after watching her character enough she has the personality for one.
She basically embodies the COG's authoritarianism and turns it to 11.

Someone plz answer - I'm a big gears of war fan, but I NEVER heard abt Marcus and Anya getting married, at 2:50 of this video there's a comic page which I definitely have never seen before. What comic is that?? Did they get married in it?
They got married after the events of gears of war 3, and were dating before that. They started dating before the events of gears 1, but at the end of the pendulam wars. That comic, however, I dont know.
Lol don’t know if Gears story tellers know what their doing but Anya really represents the strong making it peaceful for the weak and the new Minister the weak tearing down what the strong had to fight for.

But i guess if gears actually talked first. Then gears 4 wouldn't have happened.

It really wouldn't make it more valid honestly. They're backs are so far against the wall they may as well be getting pushed through it. They don't have the numbers or infrastructure to fight the locust again right now. They'll need the hammer more than ever and anything else they can get.
When your the only hope the world has then you can get away with whatever you want, as the man said "in the face of extinction, every alternative is preferable."

Some only play the games and have known clue about how deep the story really goes. I'm a big Halo fan as well, lol we searched the caves in Halo Infinite for Noble 6 body.

I think in gears 6 jinn will reveal that she purposely did something to the fertility program so Anya would die so Jinn could take over because she thought Anya was soft and did not have what it takes to save the human race but Anya would not step down so Jd and Marcus would flip that could be a cool story arc.

. . . . .Jinn is softer than Anya at war. Anya had no reason to bring the hammer online. Right now, she absolutely would Anya commanded and personally fought during the locust war. She knows what a bad situation looks like and what it takes to walk out the other side.

In-game why does everyone hate jin??? I get the hate for chairman Prescott considering he was the chairman before e-day and how he disappeared which all makes sense but I don't get why do the characters hate jinn 🤷🏾♂️

I think it's mainly due to how unreasonable Jinn is. Not wanting to launch more Hammer of Dawn satellites is understandable, but almost refusing to deal with the swarm threat at Hoffman's suggestion(hivebusters) isn't great for her

Well, you see Anya signed up for the Fertility program that Jinn created to boost the survival rate and increase morale and later on successfully gave birth to J.D, then at some point after that, she would also go through it again a second time but something went wrong that time and Ayna and the unborn child died.
I don't think it has been stated what gender the child was or what stage they were at the time but it if was a baby girl then it would also show why Marcus is so close to Kait in Gears 4 and 5

@@KingAbzTV imagine if they do a huge year skip for gears 6 so they can have jinns child as one of the characters and have more comics to fill the space I think that would be a great opportunity for lots of people to get more into the comics and we would also get a new character or more cause we've seen them add comic characters to the multiplayer and I think that would be pretty cool to have jinns child as a playable character but the problem with that is Marcus and baird and them might not be alive and that would be pretty sad

Benjamin dying had an impact on Marcus, in Marcus’ nightmare of the fall of Ephyra Benjamin was in there.
It did have an impact on him.
They weren’t close, but Benjamins death weighed heavily on Marcus because Marcus promised Ben that he would see the sun again, and that was a promis Marcus failed to keep.

@@ThePilleroflightning3 years late but that honestly is an amazing piece of tiny detail the games do. 4-5 honestly steered so far from the aesthetic of gears but the small details of callbacks is great to see
