In gears 5 we kinda get an idea of how she passed away. Marcus hated the fertility program jim created. Even tho it was how him and Anya got JD. But jin said anya went to her both times. I think the 2nd time killed her

Well, they needed something to contribute to the rift between father and son.
Anya’s passing is still one of the most tragic deaths in Gears, we didn’t even get to see her pass away, just an offscreen death sadly.
Not nearly as tragic as the death of lambent-human number 141 man. How could you even make that comparison. He's the one who gets shot. With a gun.

@@jt.8144 He didn't say "The Most Tragic Death" he said "one of the most tragic deaths." There's difference in wording there. I agree with you, Maria's is definitely the most tragic and heartbreaking, No Contest, but Anya's death is still sad and it's a shame we as the players that grew up and fought with her didn't get to see her one last time aside from the Tomorrow Trailer.
Fun Fact: There is an unused voice line. For Anthony Carmine in the first gear's game. It's where we meet Anya for the first time. At some point in the scene. Carmine was supposed to say, "Whoa, she's hot"🤣

Even with the little we saw of them together; their relationship was always a special one to see grow
Anya is the definition of a “ride or die” partner. Someone who is willing to remain by their partner’s side, thou their lowest and highest, even if the world around them seem to fall apart. When writing a love interest in a setting like GoW, take notes from Anya and Marcus.
Can't believe no one has mentioned what a wing man Dom is he literally has the most down 2 earth human characteristics in gears. Also amazing wingman for Marcus and Anya.
Some people say we didn't need a remaster for Gears 1, but I like how it gave them a chance to improve the character's reactions in scenes. Like it adds more to Marcus as a character to give him different expressions than just looking constantly pissed off at everything. The hope when he sees Anya in person for the first time, and the horror when RAAM killed Kim outside the Tomb of the Unknown, among other things make Marcus more human and relatable.
My only gripe about the remaster is how Anya looks. It just seems weird to me how she looks compared to how she looks in the original trilogy. Still she is one of my favourite characters in Gears and I was sad that she was killed off in the new trilogy.

Was it really a secret? Yeah, everyone pretty much knew but Marcus even took Anya out for dinner. Even shared a dinner at a restaurant with his father.

This happens with a lot of people in the military too, I have a friend who has a crush on a girl in his company but couldn’t trust anyone in the military but (2 people) because they’d all snitch.

Great video but bruh Marcus never come across as "cold". He was always empathetic to the green recruits and less skilled gears, and compassionate to his friends and allies and to the tragedy felt by others. Hard-ass? yes. Badass? Definitely. Unfeeling? Never.

I recently found your channel and really like it. Great presentation. When the games are separated by a couple of years you sometimes lose some of the plot points or some of the nuances, it's great to have your short videos break them down into bite-size lore.

Wish she wasn’t gone she was the most important person to him in his entire life and now Sergeant Marcus Fenix is even wrecked even more then before right after Dom made the ultimate heroic sacrifice to save his military family but now Sgt Fenix is a sole parent and it’s not great at all let’s hope James and his dad can stop the Swarm before there wipe out too hopefully right guys let’s hope Captain Fenix and Sergeant Fenix can do it hopefully right guys!

While I doubt there's much on it, I'd love a video on the Fertility Program and how it effected those who underwent it.

You wouldn’t know because there was no comics to show that, nor any romantic framing in the cutscenes not like in Ultimate Edition where it shows Anya being pretty happy to see Marcus when she reunited with him.

i love how gears 3 griffith cutscene goes 60fps. looks clean.
Yeah, some of the cutscenes look really bad for some reason but some of them are really crisp. After the FPS update.

I honestly did not know these two were in a secret relationship I mean I played Gears of War a lot back then but I wasn't focus on the lore at the time, this is pretty shocking
I kinda figured it out at the near end of Gears of War 2 when they're on their choppers
In the first Gears (not remaster) Marcus doesn't have much facial gestures other than looking extremely pissed off, so yeah it makes very hard to notice it up until the end of Gears 2 where you kinda get an idea (in fact, i thought the relationship started at 2 lol)

What nationality are some of these gears characters? Like Dominic is obviously Puerto Rican or Dominican decent, carmines are obviously Italian descent. Tai kaliso, is Samoan descent, but what is Marcus fenix, and dizzy and some of these other characters. Also what’s there heights and weight you should do a video on that.
