    I love April and her mom!! I have been doing their HIIT workouts and just now found this "yes2next" workouts! I can't believe how you can see the difference in mom. She is thinner and toner, showing that the exercises work even if you are in your 80's! Keep us motivated!

    OMG! Who are you? I just finished 4 different upper body workouts including a HIIT, Arm, and upper body and the 8 minute warm up and guess what? My football muscle memory returned. This is a physical habit now and guess what; more positive, feeling and happiness for me. After 68 years of abuse I know there is a Universe and a God for me. I hope you live goodness and thank you so much, April and Aiko. Now maybe after 3 more months I can travel and visit and enjoy positively again. Thank you and keep moving he he he! Thank you.     Is there a tip you can give us as to when to breathe in and out? I know I'm doing doing it correctly Thanks! To Mochi😻

      During strength training inhale on relaxation and exhale during exertion. So with a bicep curl, breathe out when you're lifting up and exhale when you relax and extend your arm. For cardio, you generally breathe in and out through the nose or, when intensity ramps up, through the mouth. Mochi says meow! 😻

    Wow! I loved you folks and the workout!
    First, it was great because your gentle, kind demeanor is so much better than the "drill sergeant" mentality which is all too common. It was almost a meditative experience.
    Second, using 2 kg weights, this 73-year-old body felt the workout.
    Way to go ladies!

    I am doing these with 2 kg (around 4 lbs) weights. It's challenging and I have to pause between movements, but I will get there. I'm 76.

As a young 76yo it's good to challenge yourself too but if you have to pause between the moves, you might consider using lighter weights i.e. 3lbs. to see if that helps. 👏 Always listen to your body too!     Hello, nice video. Would you have an exercise for the neck and shoulders and upper back? I am not a senior yet, but I find your exercises very easy and slow for people like me who are staying indoors most of the time due to this Covid pandemic. This outbreak has forced people like me focused on our gadgets sp we are always looking down and straining our neck and shoulders.

    I have really big baggy bat wings how often do you have to do the arm exercises?

      I recommend doing this workout 2-3 times a week with rest days in between. The goal is to build muscle so it's important to use weights if you can. If an exercise feels challenging after 8 to 10 reps, that is a good weight to use. If it's super easy with those reps, increase the weight or do more repetitions. Slowing down the movement up and down can also create more challenge for your muscles. In some cases, bat wings may not go away entirely. But building muscle will help tone your arms up and make you stronger. Stay with it!

    What do I do (if anything) if one arm is stronger than the other? My left arm struggled to keep up with my right arm during this workout.

      So sorry for the delay in replying. For some reason, your message didn't show up when it came in. It is very common for one side of the body to be stronger than the other. It is fine to vary the weights on each side. Use a lighter weight or no weight with the left arm and/or decrease the number of reps on the left side and slowly build up strength.

Weights give your muscles resistance making them stronger. Alternate the days you use weights and certainly stop if you feel discomfort. Use lighter for shoulder work!       Congratulations on exercising for 27 days straight! So proud of you! We are honored to inspire you to move and get stronger. Thank you so much for your generous donation! It means so much to us and is greatly appreciated! In general, each week adults need 150 minutes of moderate-intensity cardio exercise and 2 days of muscle strengthening activity, according to the current Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans. The amount of time for strength training for your arms and other muscle groups depends on your fitness level. If this 10 minute workout is challenging, stay with it until feels easy. At that point, you can increase the challenge by adding weights and/or increasing repetitions or workout time (you can add our other upper body workouts). Also, allowing your body time to rest is a necessary part of an effective training routine. Various factors including your fitness level and intensity of your workout will determine how much you should rest. Generally, listen to your body -- if your arms feel sore after a workout, rest 1 or more days to let the soreness subside -- this is when you build muscle. On the rest days, gentle movement of your arms and stretching is fine. Pushing yourself during a bout of soreness could lead to an overuse injury. We hope this is helpful!       @@yes2next Thank you for your quick reply. I've worked out all my life but at my age I need workouts appropriate for my age. I've just had hip surgery and I cannot do some of the intensive workouts available on TH-cam for younger people which include standing up and moving around. You have provided me with what I need right now. Hopefully, as I recover, I will be able to go back to more advanced exercises in the near future. Thank you so much again. Since I usually take my granddaughters to the gym with me, it made me very happy to find mom and daughter doing the same here. Thumbs up.👍👍🤩🤩

If your shoulder muscles are sensitive do the routines gently and use very light weights or no weights. 👏 While you want the shoulder muscles to be strong, you don't want to risk injuring them by aggressive moves and heavy weights!     How, I God's Name did you know this workout was one of my 4 year workout for football and I am exhausted even without weights. Before when I was younger I used massive weights. Now I will order 2.5 lb weights in a few weeks to add to this exercise Video: today was Energizer warm up, Core 5 minutes, a walk and this video for the Arms and I will look for your posture videos if you have any. Thanks. You seem to be very exceptional. Thank God for you!! I am breathing.

      Hi there! The U.S. Department of Health and Human Service recommends that adults strengthen all muscle groups at least twice a week (in addition to doing 150 minutes of moderate intensity aerobic exercise like walking). So you can do this upper body workout at least twice a week with at least one day of rest between workouts. It's important to listen to your body. If you're sore after this or any workout, rest until the soreness subsides. Keep up the great work 👏

    Great routine to tone up the leaders arms for ballroom dancing. My elbows always dip down while dancing, hopefully this will tone up the arm and shoulder muscles.

    10 moves X 10: a nice balanced and well rounded routine! I have problems with my right rotator cup, so some of the moves were difficult, forcing me to limit the lifts in height that involved its use by .     oh no. this is not as easy as it looks. I am 53. been diabetic the past 8 years, so my muscle is literary melted and lose strength. after this 10 exercises, my left arm gets the works that it need after being in pain for the past 2 months. thank you for doing and sharing these with us. keep it up.

    I'm looking for exercises for bat wings :) and found this one. I used 3# weights yesterday and couldn't do them, so I switched up 1# today and still challenging but doable. I'll continue to do these as well as stretching my neck and upper back afterwards. It felt like more of a shoulder, upper body workout. Which one of these 10 exercises are for the bat wings?       While spot-reducing fat in the arms isn't possible, the combination of these exercises can build muscle in your arms and shoulders to help create a toned appearance and make you stronger. The triceps and rear deltoids are at the back of your arm and shoulder, which is where batwings are typically located. The exercises that specifically work these muscles are the Upright Row, Zipper, Tricep Extension, Rear Deltoid Fly. Keep up the great work!

      @@yes2next I've been gradually working my way up from 2-lb. to 3-lb. to 5-lb. dumbbells in the strength workouts, and I was pleased that I was able to use 5-pound dumbbells throughout this workout this morning. I was a little unsure if I should be using them for the shoulder exercises or if I should have continued to use 3-pound dumbbells for those, but although it was challenging, it wasn't painful, and I managed it pretty well. Do you think it's okay for me to continue using 5-pound weights for the shoulder exercises? I know you often recommend lighter weights for shoulders. (Feb. 29, 2024)
