I've been featured to many editorial playlists since 2019 and in most of those pitches, I always mention what this song is helpful for, besides why it is something to pay attention for. For example, I mainly make EDM songs, so I write something like "this song is great for going for a run but also for cycling and even for the clubs (...)", as these curators are looking for new music to fill their multiple playlists they have control of, that can make their lives a bit easier!

Yupp! This works for me as well! To even go further. I look at all of the main genres of music on Spotify and listen to each one. I determine which one fits on Spotify playlists. At the top, they have these catchy headline phrases to introduce the playlist. I use it also in my pitch to Spotify.

Jesse, you the man! One thing I struggle with though...my music is kind of a caricature, an over exaggeration of the rap fan in me, while fully embracing the fact that I'm not very "street", where part of the joke is I'm not actually that good. I tend to interact online in character, over enthusiastic and trying too hard to be something I'm not to the point of being a bit tragic. So my question is, should I pitch in character? Or talk from my own perspective, describing the character? 😕 Staying in character is definitely more fun, but not sure how obvious it would be that it's a front without listening to the music...

Hey, I'm a new artist and new to this channel, I am watching all your videos now. I never got this amount of info from a single video of a channel. I have zero fans or they are in single figures. I want to start promote my music but I don't have a label budget. Your videos are really really helpful in taking notes of the important information that is essential for promotion. As of some knowledge I have gained till now is that you can't randomly blow up on any platform until the algorithm pushes it or you get a collab/promotion from a big name in the genre. After watching some of your videos (I know I got a lot to watch still), my question is if I want to grow my audience from 0 and want people to pay attention to my music while sustaining the attention for a long term, what should be the strategy going forward from this point. Thanks, Your info is really help a lot of diy artists and producers and Sorry if My English is not good it's because I don't speak English that often

Sounds like writing a letter to the editor for a journal submission. I'm equally bad at that too. 😅 I know why my music excites me, but I'm weird. So articulating that into words that makes others excited or intrigued is tough. "The sound of giant machines dismantling a planet", "music for the age of environmental collapse", "a sound track to exploring the cursed post industrial landscape of north east England" etc. Will have to think more about it cos pitching is a useful skill regardless what your using it for.
